I think SC has been moving at a pretty impressive pace. I have no reason to think why the TRP should be affected. The Saras- kumud breakup has been nicely compensated by the killer performance of the entire cast.
I felt the Rona Dona episodes passed quickly. Another reason-Saras quickly overcame the dark phase and is back to normal. Looking forward to what lies ahead.
Does the old story match with current times:
It is hard to blame Saras for the breakup, after seeing what he has gone through in life. He is basically not a emotionally stable guy. Guman gets a lot of credit for this. She has affected his life in so many ways. Considering the fact that he has no money, no job, no family, no mental stability- he thought it is best to not marry Kumud. Now why he thought like this? Obviously, because he is not a stable secure guy and has suddenly lost all the courage.
Even in real life we do know of occasional circumstances where the Groom does not show up on the wedding day. Really heart breaking. These are love marriages, I am talking about. ( google and you can find eg.) So far the story does not seem unrealistic and does match with the current age.
Kumud should have taken sometime to heal after the breakup. It does work at times and people do get back. However, we know that she has a big ego. It was very difficult for her to forgive Saras, the first time he rejected her. A second rejection, can drive anyone crazy.
Regarding Kumud's decision to marry Pramad, it is nothing but Rebound love. Here Kumud will go to the extent of marrying Pramad ( if she does) to suppress her heartache that she is experiencing after a second rejection. To make Saras jealous and show that she has a wonderful life without him.
Good to see that Dhukba and Guman were not quite pleased to know that Kumud's Dad will get her married on the same day. No surprise, they have been such supportive women. So basically, the marriage is the father- daughter decision.
In the old story, the stronger reason to marry Pramad must have been family prestige.
PS. I found the last part of today's episode where Kumud has this fire lit and getting rid of stuff, too filmy style.
To all those who are skipping SC because of Saras-Kumud breakup, do tune in and watch.
