There is a tussle between two young actresses to pair opposite Emraan Hashmi in the remake ofDil Hai Ki Manta Nahi, which will be jointly produced by Bhushan Kumar and Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt.
It is learnt that while Bhushan is keen to have the Aashiqui 2 heroine Shraddha Kapoor in the film, the Bhatt's want their homegrown Alia Bhatt. One of these two girls will be signed for the sequel of the 1991 film about a rich spoilt girl running way from home and is tailed by a journalist.
The film starring Pooja Bhatt and Aamir Khan was a huge hit. It was inspired by It Happened One Night. At this point it looks like Alia holds a clear advantage as she's Mahesh Bhatt's daughter and he had directed the original DHKMN (produced by Bhushan's father Gulshan Kumar and the Bhatts).
Bhushan refuses to comment on which of the two actresses will make it to finishing line. All he says is, "I am very happy to be associated with Vishesh Films again after giving a hatrick withAashiqui, Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahi (original one) and Aashiqui 2. My father gave two blockbusters with them and shared a brotherly relationship with them. I too am trying to continue the magic and relationship which my father had. I have proven that with Aashiqui 2 and am now very excited about DHKMN2." The director of DHKMN2 is yet to be finalised.
