Shahid Kapoor trusts his instincts. He doesn't care about a big banner, a big fee or someone's big ego. While every actor in the country is waiting for a call from Karan Johar's Dharma and Aditya Chopra's Yash Raj Films, Shahid has refused films from both production houses... both in one year. Punit Malhotra had his heart set on Shahid for Gori Tere Pyar Mein but the actor excused himself, even after a call from KJo. He signed YRF's following his heart. He doesn't get enough credit for his choice of films. He doesn't care to explain his selection of roles and banners but there is a method to his madness. He walked out of the YRF untitled film, to be directed by Maneesh Sharma, after signing it, citing date problems. The film was delayed because the director fell ill. Due to this the shooting schedule was pushed ahead and the actor pulled out as he had other work commitments.

Will his choices pay off? We'll find out. Both films release this year. But whatever the fate of the films, one thing is for sure, the actor won't regret his choices.
