Television actors who sizzle on screen,do not always gel well in real life.AT tries to find out then how do they manage to work together

What you see on screen is not reality and we are sure most of you understand that.We are not talking about reality shows but the relationships between actors who work in TV shows. The love, affection and all the warmth that you see on screen is not always the truth. There is more to it.There are a lot of actors who showcase a dream relationship on screen but once the camera stops rolling, they just cant stand each other.Everyone definitely has a personal choice but do these kind of bad chemistry hamper the show Take a peek-a-boo at few of the relationships that sizzle on the small screen but off the camera they cant stand each other Usha Natkarni and Ankita Lokhande in Pavitra Rishta,Hina Khan and Karan Mehra of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai,Jayshree Venkatramanan and Anuj Thakur of Beend Banoonga Ghodi Chadhunga,Arhaan Bahl and Pooja Gor of Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya,Karan Tacker and Yashashri Masurkar of Rang Badalti Odhani and Nishant Malkani and Sara Khan in Preet Se Bandhi Yeh Dori Ram Milaayi Jodi.
Television producer Hemal Thakkar,I havent personally come across any such situation but these kind of things are a big pain.As we shoot for daily soaps,we have to do it everyday and it is important for the entire team to be cordial. One doesnt need to have love or hate feelings but one should be cordial.
So do bad relationships between actors determine the success or failure of a TV show If the ch e m - istry between two actors isnt good then the makers have to set different angles to keep both the actors away and yet together at the same time.TV shows are a package and so it is important for the entire team to gel well.In television apart from acting, reacting is a big thing. These kind of issues affect the show, story line and just about everything in the show, explains Hemal. On the o t h e r h a n d there are some who feel that off screen chemistry is not important among actors as acting is only a job.Producer Rajan Shahi says,To show on screen chemistry,a good actor doesnt need to share a personal rapport with their co-actors off-screen.Good actors deliver as they are expected to.Acting in a daily soap is not like working in a reality show one doesnt need to show their real self.I admire and respect actors who are professional and no matter what relationship they share off-screen they dont let it affect the show.In fact there is more harm to shows when actors keep changing their preferences about co-actors,and who cant differentiate between personal and professional life.
Talking from the channels point of view, broadcasters dont seem to be too worried either. As a broadcaster,we are only concerned with the end product all our energies are focused on ensuring that we only deliver great content. We also bank on our actors to be professional enough to sort out their differences and deliver good performances.
Actor Karan Mehra says,As a professional,it is not important for an actor to share a personal
rapport to show their chemistry
on screen.As an actor,you need
to get into the character as
soon as I am on the sets I get
into my character.I do my
work and go home.Off-screen
rapport is not necessary if you
know what is expected out
of you.
