Not quite magical: Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna

Here's looking at nine numbers to which you swayed your hips and shook that booty this year ….

Jhalak dikhlaja (Aksar)
Yes, it was sung by the king of nasal twang, Himesh Reshammiya , yet the song turned out to be the biggest chartbuster of the year.

Beedi (Omkara)
Rustic, naughty and extremely entertaining, Beedi Jalai Le lit up everyone's heart this year with its foot- tapping music. The sight of Bipasha swinging her hips as an item girl in the hinterland was another reason it became popular.

Zara jhoom (Tom Dick and Harry)
Another winner from the Reshammiya camp, this song came in two versions and was played in most of the clubs. The remix was catchier and more racy than the album cut.

Where's the party tonight (KANK)
Even though it couldn't recreate the magic of It's the time to disco, the song still was on top of everyone's request list.

Crazy kiya re (Dhoom2 )
After Kajra re, Ash got another hot song up her sleeve. Sexy, seductive and racy, this song got all the ladies on the floor this year.

Kya mujhe pyaar hai remix (Woh Lamhe)
It was played in cars, rickshaws and clubs. This feelgood number made you jump up and down every time you heard it.

Aaj ki raat (DON)
Sensous, and extremely melodious, the Isha Koppikar – Priyanka Chopra song from DON sizzled and burnt the floor with ease. A lounge mix of the song would have been perfect to round up the soundtrack.

Guitar (Apna Sapna Money Money)
Catchy, funny and very danceable, this song won over our hearts with its simple lyrics and melody. Expect to dance on to this number even in the coming year.

Rang de basanti (Rang De Basanti)
Easily one of the catchiest numbers of the year, the song with its Bhangra feel and dhol beats was played in every club this year. We also think Rubaroo from the film is one of the best songs of all time.
