Like he understood… he smiled back at her and firmed his hold around her waist. He pulled her closer in authority as their fingers laced with each other. He knew what he was supposed to do. She came to him all by herself..and he wasn't going to leave her so easily. He smirked and led the waltz…tapping his foot along with the music. She laughed and matched his pace, showing him how much capable she was. They dance…and they twirled..along with everyone out there..Embracing each other…excited…nervous…yet happy!

They were too lost to even look at others who seemed to watch the couple with so much excitement. They didn't even realize how much they danced, lost in each other or when the music stopped. But a huge round of applause broke their trance. She blushed a bit with his gaze all over her and parted. Then mohinder announced their engagement which was surprising for all her friends. He stood there beside her all the while, stealing glances at her. She maintained her posture in front of the audience but only she knew what was going through her. His one look was enough to shake her entire existence. She had known his effect on her from the very beginning but to this extent…it was indeed surprising for her too.

Their eyes met again when they were made to stand in front of each other for exchanging the rings. He smiled and slipped the ring swiftly into her finger, claiming her as his in front of the whole world. She felt millions of butterflies in her stomach with his touch. She suddenly felt very nervous, she didn't even know why. Her hands shivered a bit while she put on the ring on his finger. They stood together, facing the crowd, the camera and them stealing glances of each other. Everything seemed so beautiful, so perfect but he wanted to see her face… how much she had grown…he wanted to tell her so many things…he wanted to hear so many things from her… he just couldn't wait to get some time alone with her. Her laughter echoed in his ears like a music piece, making his heart skip beats. She was perhaps the most beautiful person he had ever met.

As the party progressed, people got more and more engrossed. He was holding a drink when he got a call. He excused himself and went out towards the lawn, seeing the caller. It was from his office. He had taken holidays and everyone knew that. But even in that he was getting a call meant there was something important. She watched him slowly withdraw away from the crowd looking a little worried. She wondered what was wrong…her twinkling eyes suddenly became worried.

He was shocked to get the news. Some problem had cropped up and he had to leave immediately. He kept the phone and walked in, searching for his parents. She did catch a glimpse of him. He had taken his mask off and he looked really very very worried. She felt something that made her shiver with an unknown fear…what might have happened? what could have gone wrong? She just saw him speaking to the elders and she rushed towards them. She stood a little far, hearing their talk.

"whats wrong Maan? Why do you have to leave so suddenly?", asked his father.

Maan tried to smile and make things comfortable, " no dad…its nothing to worry..something important came up and I need to leave…immediately."

She froze right there, hearing him say so. She had been so lost in him the whole time…and then his leaving suddenly… why? An unknown fear gripped her heart… she could feel that aura. She saw him face her father, "am so sorry uncle but I have to leave…"

His heart ached not because he was worried about his work but more because he was leaving his life behind. He still hadn't seen her face and he was already leaving. Everyone looked at him sadly when dadima kissed his forehead, "okay you go.. we'll be back in the first flight tomorrow…"

He left the place, getting calls after calls. He wanted to meet her once, tell her that he will back soon… for he had seen that submission in her eyes and he had fallen for her already. The corridor was dark and deserted as he made his way out when he felt someone follow him. He stopped and turned back..but no one was there. He sighed and walked ahead when he felt the same again. He again turned back and saw none.

Geet was so worried…to an extent that she felt like crying. she couldn't see him go away and if she met him, she knew she'd fall weak. The whole surrounding was dark..even the stars had hid themselves. She hated it. She peeped out a bit and found no one in the corridor. Her heart sunk..she wanted to be with him for a while and that's why she had sneaked out of the party. She followed him quietly and hid herself behind the pillar. And now he was no where to be seen. She felt the corners of her eyes burn. Where was he? She took a step ahead and she knew she was pushed against a wall and someone held her tightly, squeezing her between the wall and his body. She blinked a couple of times only to meet with his intense gaze, that bored into her soul. He was close to her….so very close that his breath fell on her lips. Her mask didn't let him see her face but he felt a little better seeing her here. He looked directly into his eyes, as if telling him that she was already missing him.

Her eyes had so many complains…so many emotions… he could just feel them all. She was so close to him..so very close and he just didn't know what kind of bond tied them but he couldn't bear this distance between them.

She just gave in to her emotions as she felt his lips over hers. Her eyes closed, letting her tears fall. Time stood still for both of them. Their unknown bond just suddenly seemed to weaken them, their emotions, their submission they hardly knew each other but this intense pull towards each other was intoxicating. His lips caressed hers ever so softly, letting her know how he felt about her… how he was already missing him. Her tears touched his lips as he slowly broke the kiss and looked at her. She held his suit tightly over his chest. Her mask was still on..but he never felt the need to take it off now. They knew they were connected by destiny…he kissed her cheeks, drinking away those tears, "I will come back soon to take you with me…"

She just kept on looking at him admiring him…how he accepted her without even knowing anything about her. She raised her hand and caressed his cheeks softly, "I will be waiting…"

He leaned over her more and pecked her sweet lips again, "I hate people going away.."

She understood what he meant. She placed her head on his chest and breathed in sharply, "Some people come to our lives only to go away…."
