I saw how many people have already written about this matter and originally I wasn't gonna write about it but now I feel the need to express my opinion
please note: this is only my opinion and I'm only speaking for myself here.

first off Zoya's reaction (as people have said before) was perfect it couldn't have been any better. she knew asad doesn't let her speak but she was determined to get her point across. I think we might see a change in asad now. he needs to realize that he's in love with Zoya - her personality, who she is — not her clothes.

and now my situation: long story short I have a dance in school coming up and we have to wear dresses. now the dresses we have to wear are skin-tight and short so u can't really wear leggings. so my mom doesn't want me to wear such dresses and yet she bought a pair of shorts (on her own accord) that is shorter than the dress I want. and everyone has to wear those kinda of dresses so she doesn't really have a choice. I feel really comfortable in dresses and I think my mom needs to understand that living in America, we have to wear a variety of different clothes. I remember we used to have international days where we had to wear the country we were from's clothes and people used to wear lengas with a really small blouse (is it called that?) but that was ok to my mom because they were "cultural" clothes.

all I want to say is that we need to get rid of this hipocrisy and I believe clothes somewhat define your personality and who u are. however u can't tell everything about a person just by judging their clothes. a person may wear all bright and happy colors but they may be depressed; a person can wear dark color clothes and they could be the happiest bubbliest person u know. people wear clothes according to what they like and yes it may tell a little about them but wearing short dresses/skirts doesn't mean u have no manners or any sense, it just means ur comfortable in what u wear or maybe u were brought up in an environment where it was ok to wear stuff like that. IMO u should wear all kinds of clothes but nothing u dont feel comfortable in. I've never worn a dress to school but the one time I did it was more comfortable than jeans! so in conclusion people should dress the way they want to and don't care about being judged as long as they're comfortable but they shouldnt be quick to judge either.

I just feel that cause she is Muslim girl - talking about religion and not culture - she should not be wearing such clothes.

Okay, we should not judge someone by what they wear, but when you see a girl wearing short clothing, we immediately think - Does she have no shame, wearing such short clothing? I'm sure so many people react like that. Now, we should not judge, but we do. It is a human trait which is natural. No matter how much people say don't judge, blah blah. People still will.

Secondly, Zoya wearing the short skirt in NYC, is an upsetting issue cause she is a muslim and wearing such a short skirt with a slit! was a little too revealing IMO.

Many will say, she was getting her point accross that she should not be judged by what she way wearing. The CV's could have easily got that accross through something else, why a ridiculously short skirt?? On top of that, she mentions wearing it in NYC!

Lastly, let's stop discussing this. The episode is over, the skirt is gone, Asad has started to see Zoya in a different way and now he is not judging her. That's what we wanted.

I'm not Muslim so I can't say anything about that but I understand what ur trying to say. but living in the US has made me realize that if u wear dresses like that here no one will say anything but u wear the same dress in India or some other country and u'll be look down upon. I'm just trying to understand why this is that's all. just had some questions that's all and once they're answered I will gladly stop talking about this. and yes I agree at least asad is trying to adjust that's one good thing
