Chapter 6: Tangled situations
Zoya: Alright, I'll stay here. But ONLY until the child is born.
Asad smiled
Asad: Thanks
Zoya continued her coffee. Her stomach growled a bit. She was a bit hungry as she didn't eat lunch thinking that she would feast on dinner.
Asad slightly heard her stomach and got worried right away
Asad (thoughts) We haven't even eaten dinner! She must be starved. I guess I'll order food.
Asad: Umm. Zoya?
Zoya sipped her coffee
Zoya: Yes?
Asad: I'm hungry, Should I get us some food?
Zoya (Thoughts) Thank god he remembered about food.
Zoya: Yeah sure!
Asad: Patel?!
Pater: Yes sir.
Asad: Can you make us some spaghetti?
Zoya: SPAGHETTI?
Asad: What? Do you not want it?
Zoya: No, its just I don't feel like eating Spaghetti, that's all.
Asad: What do you want to eat then?
Zoya: How about some pani puri?
Asad: Pani Puri?!?!
Zoya: Yes.
Asad: Alright, Get her some pani puri and make me spaghetti with alfredo sauce. And be quick.
Patel: Sure sir. Anything else?
Asad: no that's it.
*Zoya sneezes*
Asad: Zoya, I think you're going to get sick. Let me call the doctor.
Zoya: No Asad *sneezes* I'm fine
Asad ignored her and began to dial the number.
Asad: Hello Doctor? Yes sorry for calling so late, but I need you at my house right now. Yes that's right. Immediately at my house. Thank you so much.
He cut the phone.
Asad: He should be here soon.
Zoya: Asad I told you I'm fine.
Asad: You may think your fine but the baby might not.
Zoya stood their silently. Did he really care? Was he really protective. She was slightly happy that her baby was going to know its father and know that he isn't such a bad a*s.
20 MINUTES LATER
*Ding Dong*
Asad: Finally he has arrived.
He went to go open the door.
Asad: Ritesh! Thanks for coming at this time.
Ritesh: Aha its fine Asad. Anyways, Who's sick?
Asad: Well she's a good friend of mine. Come in I'll introduce you.
The both walked in to the living room where Zoya sat sipping the rest of her coffee. As she saw them walking towards her, she put the cup down and stood up.
Asad: Zoya meet Ritesh. He's a good friend of mine and an excellent Doctor.And Ritesh this is my frind Zoya. She is actually your patient tonight.
Ritesh put his hand out to Zoya. Zoya accepted and shook his hand
Ritesh: It's a pleasure to meet you Zoya. So what is the problem today.
Zoya: See there is no problem Ritesh. Your friend here is just freaking out for no reason.
Asad: Okay I'm not freaking out I'm just making sure that you both are okay!
Ritesh: Both?
Zoya: Yes I'm pregnant.
Ritesh- Oh I see.
Asad: Yes, and we were outside in the rain for a while so I was wondering if you can check to make sure she doesn't have a cold or anything.
Ritesh: Sure thing Asad.
Ritesh checked Zoya's temperature
Ritesh: Well it seems like you do have a cold. I'm going to write down some medicine, make sure you take them, otherwise you can start getting worse.
Asad: Thanks Ritesh.
He began to walk him to his car. Once reaching his car Ritesh looked at Asad
Ritesh: Asad, this may be too early to confirm but there may be some complications with this pregnancy. I mean the child is fine but it could put Zoya at risk. I want you to think about this okay.
He sat in his car and drove off.
Complications? How was he supposed to tell Zoya? Well may be not today. It has been such a long stressful night for her. She needs some rest.
Asad walked back in the house with his thoughts everywhere. As soon as he entered he noticed that Zoya was no longer sitting in the living room!
Asad: Where did she go?
He heard some laughing in the kitchen and went to go and check.
Patel and Zoya where cooking something in the kitchen
Asad: What the hell Zoya? You're sick! Why are cooking? And Patel! how can you let her cook?
Zoya: Asad stop yelling at the poor thing. He told me not to. But I insisted. Whenever I get sick, I usually make myself a soup. Mushroom Soup. I'll make you some too cause must be sick from being out there too.
Asad: Fine. but don't stress too much
He left the kitchen and went to his room to change.
He walked to his closet and opened the second drawer to the left. He slipped out a pair of sweatpants and a blue t-shirt out from the bottom of the cleanly folded clothes. He slipped out of his close and dried himself off. He then sliped into his pants. Before he could get to his shirt Zoya came walking in. She noticed he wasn't wearing a shirt and quickly turned the other way
Zoya: Sorry to barge in. I just came to say that the soup is ready.
Asad: Its fine. I'll be down in a moment.
Zoya walked outside but right at the exit, she turned around to look at Asad one more time. His perfectly toned body brought shivers down her spine.
She then walked down to the dining table where Patel had set the spaghetti, Pani puri and soup.
Zoya: Well we made a wide variety of food tonight.
Asad then came down to join.
They both sat at the table where Patel Served them. Asad played around with the spaghetti while he watched Zoya stuff her face with pani puri.
Once finishing the main food. Patel served them some soup.
Asad took a spoonful and put it in his mouth.
It tasted so yummy and familiar. But from where? Oh yes. How could he forget! Whenever he would get sick, his mother would make him the same soup. Mushroom Soup.
Zoya: how's the soup?
Asad looked at her.
Asad: Truly amazing.
Zoya: Glad you think so!
*ring ring*
Asad looked down on his phone.
Asad: Excuse me.
He got up and took his phone to the side
Asad: Hello?
Jiya: Hello sir?
Asad: Yes jiya?
Jiya: Sir we have a big problem. You know the man that you took the car from a week ago. Their Family has filed a case on you and the police are heading your way to your house?
Asad: What do you mean?
Jiya: I mean that you can be arrested in the next 20 minutes.
Asad: Sh*t. So what should we do?
Jiya: I'll get some workers to get your farmhouse ready. You just leave your house immediately.
Asad: Alright Thanks Jiya.
He cut the phone and went back to the table.
Asad: Patel go home now. And don't come back here till I tell you too. Zoya. We have to leave this place right now?
Zoya: What? Now? Why? What happened?
Asad: I'll answer your questions in the car. But we need to leave right now.
He ran to his room. Got his stuff and came back down.
Zoya walked outside the house confused, and sat in the car. Asad came to join her.
He turned on the car and drove off real quickly.
