The great Indian celebrity wedding!

The much-hyped Khan wedding, hurriedly solemnised on December 28, 2005, culminated in a post-marriage party in Bangalore on this day.

Marked by controversies, this not-so-usual star shaadi was devoid of any special ceremonies or star attractions. Instead the couple settled for a humble court marriage followed by weekend celebrations and even a cricket match in Panchghani!

The daughter of yesteryear Bollywood darlings Neetu Singh and Rishi Kapoor tied the knot with Delhi-based businessman Bharat Sahani on this day.

While A-list actors turned up in hordes to bless the couple, cousins Karisma and Kareena Kapoor were conspicuously MIA.

After several delays and rumours of Ashish Chowdhry being smitten by Riya Sen, the couple finally tied the knot on this day. The Khan khandaan, including father Salim and sons Salman and Sohail, danced to Ramaiya vasta vaiya till the wee hours of the morning at the do.

This much-publicised wedding was preceded by a grand sangeet ceremony where the couple was virtually lip-locked (posing for the shutterbugs, you know). Samita also coaxed Aashish to arrange for a post-wedding all-white Sunday brunch the next day!
