Two star crossed personalities...


A Young Man and a Young Girl both the victims of cruel fate; how they beat the odds and find their love, their goal!! The journey of these two, in search of love, faith, loyalty.. ultimately finding the same in one another forms the crux of the story.

It's incredible how quickly time flies by. It feels like yesterday when the first promo came on air. But it's amazing how two whole years have passed since the first episode was aired and our journey with Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon began. We turn to fiction for entertainment but once in a while a piece of fiction becomes a part of our life. Such is the pull of Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon.

We found it to be much more than just a story or just a show. It was an escape, a paradise of sorts where everything was forgotten and all we focused on was who Arnav would yell at that day.

Khushi was a character full of smiles and sunny days. She was emotionally so strong, (she can lift a dhai kilo tray of jalebis too, don't underestimate our Sanka Devi!) and she'd been through so much. She coped with smiles though, she displayed a strength completely opposite to Arnav and we loved her for it. She was childish, immature, but so wise and caring at the same time. Sanaya brought her to life and laughed and Aaj Mausam Hai Suhaana-ed her way into all our hearts.

Arnav on the other hand, was an entity. Headstrong, confident, driven, protective, he was what every girl on some level wants. He defied all sorts of cultural norms and threw typical Indian propriety out the goddamn window. He introduced us to the layers a person can have and how even the hardest of shells can break with a little coercion. He had strong family values and was a character who showed the darker side all of us had. Barun brought a character, that otherwise would have been so easy to hate, to life and made us fall in love with him, made it impossible to hate him.

Anjali was the caring sister that everyone loves but hates at the same time. The one who never stops interfering but you'd never have it any other way. Daljeet became the poster girl for sweet sibling, playing her role beautifully.

Akash was that suave but painfully shy brother who would stand by and support his big bro in anything he did. In a sense, Akash was Arnav's wall to lean on and their relationship and the way Dogti played it was beautiful.

Payal was that strong but silent sister that always was there and cared deeply for her family, she just wasn't as vibrant about it as Khushi. With any actress other than Deepali, this character would've been flat and no one would've looked twice at Payal.

and NANHE , OHMYGOD, NANHE. Oh NK! He was the all around sweet childhood best friend. The cute little lunatic who is so exuberant and loyal and supportive. He never let his own feelings get in the way of him doing what he thought was right! (and his broken Hindi was just Hai<3)

Kabhi-Kabhi aisa lagta hai jaise nafrat ke us mahaul mein kuch to aisa hai jo hamse kehta hai ki is ansune,anjane se,ankahe se ehsaas ko ek mauka to do.

Par jis rishte ki neev hi nafrat par rakhi gayi ho us-se kuch bhi umeed lagana nadani nahi to aur kya hoga?

Aur shayad hum yeh nadaani kar baithe..

Warna kyun itni nafrat ke bawajood Hume apki itni yaad aa rahi hai..

Kyun hum apse ladte hain, jhagadte hain..

Lekin apke jaane ke baad..

Aap hi ki raah dekhte hain..
