Would this film have been a Superhit if Ranbir was not in it and instead another non top actor like AB Jr., John Abraham, Neil Mukesh was the lead?
If the answer is yes then only can you give credit to Deepika's presence. Otherwise sole credit goes to Ranbir and too some extent ARK, because the story is just contrived "run of the mill".
i am sorry..but i disagree with you...making a film is a team work..and the captain of the ship is mostly the behind technicians...instead of giving credit to one person...they should give the credit to the whole team of YJHD...
instead of giving credit to ranbir...i would want to give credit to the whole team...becos w/o the behind the scenes technicians...choreographers...ranbir would not have done anything...its their creativity which ranbir-deepika brings out on-screen...i won't say ranbir only even yesteryear superstars...the powerful KHANS...and the current GEN...they all are bringing someone's creativity on-screen...the story...the music...the screenplay...the direction...and many various aspect of film making is not done by them but the technicians...
i don't believe in giving credit to one person when the whole team is responsible for the success...whether its ranbir...the KHANS...or others...for me...its the team effort...it just that the credit is taken by the male lead...
YJHD worked becos of ex-lovers coming back on-screen with a huge gap...which was never expected at all...even i was surprised...so yes the film mainly worked becos of Ranbir-Deepika chemistry...the chartbuster music which cash their chemistry to maximum...and its youth-oriented story which was missing for the longest period of time...it was lost in the mess of south remakes...action genre...100 crore crap...of course its a KJO movie..we know his heights of making his movies...
