Celebs share their hair secrets

Sangeeta Ghosh, TV actor
"I am a Bengali, so you can say that I am lucky to have healthy and long hair. Diet plays an important part in order to achieve a healthy head of hair. I eat fish and I think that's what keeps my hair healthy. Fish has a lot of vitamins to keep your hair healthy and also maintain its natural texture and colour. So, I would say that if you want healthy hair then you should start eating fish."

Amrita Arora, actress
"I am very particular about my hairstyle and the products that I use. I think conditioning your hair is very important after you shampoo. For that I always trust flat beer, which is an excellent conditioner and gives lots of bounce and shine. Besides that once in a while I also apply eggs for half an hour and then wash it off. An oil massage is also good and I usually use a mixture of olive and coconut oil for my hair."

Kim Sharma, actress
"I am very particular about the shampoo I use to wash my hair. It has to be a mild shampoo and hopefully a product that doesn't have lots of chemicals. I preferably wash my hair everyday. I think it's very important to keep your hair and scalp clean so that it can grow healthy."

Rucha Gujarathi, TV actor
"I stay in Mumbai which has a very humid climate. Pollution is another problem. So, at the end of the day you are left with dull and unhealthy hair. Besides a good massage, I've always trusted the age-old remedy of curd, which is a very good conditioner for dull, lifeless hair. You can even add a few drops of lemon to it. It gives brilliant results. I also use an aroma hair pack once a week"

Maushmi Udeshi, Model and actress
"I have been blessed genetically with nice, thick hair. Besides paying attention to your diet I think a good hair massage, once a month is very essential for healthy hair because it increases the blood circulation and thus aids in hair growth. I undergo a massage treatment for half an hour to forty-five minutes once a month with coconut oil. It conditions my hair and scalp. It's something I've been following since many years."

Shayan Munshi, model and actor
"I shampoo and condition my hair every alternate day because Mumbai is so polluted that your hair loses its life at the end of the day. Apart from that I use a lot of styling products like gels and creams to keep it healthy and in style."

Rajeev Paul, TV actor
"I am hungry for hair massages and go for it whenever I feel that my hair is looking dull and lifeless. In my college days, my mom used to apply a mixture of areetha, amla and shikakai (all powdered) on my hair and scalp, so I guess that's the reason for my healthy hair right now. I also keep on changing my hair oil (from coconut oil to sarsoon to amla) every month so that my hair gets all the necessary supplements from each of them."
