I think chanchan did not fight back for the lie because she figured what was going on. I think shd told her doubts about UB to manav. Now she knows UB has not accepted her so true to her words like she said before that she will marry with UB permission only. Hence she convinced manav to break this. When shd talked about trust of UB on her. When cc looked behind when leaving she had pain on her face - pain of manav being in pain abt his mother. What do u say?

Heres my take...

I think CC does not speak up and defend herself because of initial shock and then her natural tendency to deal with situations maturely. CC would have told Manav in private that she does not know the guy, and MAnav would have trusted her and would have had suspicion on his mom. Then CC would have suggested that they break up till they find the truth, again not wanting to paint a bad picture of UB without confirming. Remember, she still respects UB and does not want to hurt MAnav in the process, if their suspicions are not proved. She still gives benefit Of doubt to UB.
