Ritu and I would often laugh over Bollywood's homophobia. Once he went to meet this iconic superstar at his iconic residence where his bratty son came right up to Ritu, and within superstar-dad's hearing, smirked: "Should I call you Ritu uncle or Ritu aunty?"

SRK's son. Perfect for Bollywood.

very brave of him to come out in open regarding his sexuality. 👏

n if this superstar's son is aryan, i wonder if he calls his father's bestie kjo uncle or kjo aunty 🤢 even his not so good friend these days, arjun rampal for that matter ...very rude n hurtful

I want to share a quote by Rituparno ghosh that is published in today's 'The Telegraph' , kolkata edition. This should answer all the speculations about his sexuality.

"My point is I will do what I want within my code of aesthetics. I think I have created a distinctive style for myself, though not consciously... i consider myself priviledged because of my gender fluidity, the fact that I am in between. It is for me to decide whether I will stand in a queue for men or for women, or neither of the two.." - Rituparno Ghosh.

Rituda always asserted the fact that Art & Artist should be looked at a non-judgemental way. he was perhaps the one to show us that Art is independent of politics, religion, color, creed and sexuality. the 'telegraph' today rightly describes him as a 'renaissance man'. the man who had truly revolutionary thought, vision and who was responsible for resurrecting Bangla cinema from the appaulingly awkward movies in the 90's.

RIP Rituda..

Yes I heard that he used to lead a very lonely life...His life only used to revolve around films nothing else. Its very sad...What can we say about Indian society...We always looked down upon gay, lesbo and trance...never respect them as persons...

And people wonder why some take offense to Bollywood's "Dostana" gags and jokes. It's another form of homophobia.
