Priyanka Bassi, the new girl on Zee Caf's English daily Bombay Talking, is the flavour of the week. Her lead role as the scheming but nave Sheena, an upcoming, ready-to-do-anything Hindi film actress has won her rave reviews in the telly world. According to her, the experience of working with seasoned actors like Naseer Abdullah and Aparna Kumar has been very enriching. The 21-year-old Delhi girl has participated in extensive theatre workshops with Barry John and has prestigious press campaigns for Shoppers' Stop and Videocon. Talking about herself Priyanka says, "I like being adored by people and love chocolates and pani puri." Though based in Mumbai now, she still has strong ties with Delhi as her family is based there. Zee Cafe's English show Bombay Talking is positioned as the small screen's big take on the lives and times of contemporary Bollywood biggies. Produced by UTV and directed by Anand Rai (brother of Ravi Rai), Bombay Talking is an English show slotted for weekend nights and it started on November 18. Priyanka Bassi plays the lead role of Sheena, an ambitious girl who struggles to make it big as a star, overthrowing the reigning star actress in the show, which primarily revolves around three families of the Khoslas, Khannas and Zaveris. |
