| Most actors would give an arm and a leg to make their debut in a Yash Raj film, considering it's one of best breaks you can get in the film industry. Unfortunately, for television actress Mona Vasu who recently hit the screen with Miilee on Star Plus, the offer did come but she had to turn it down, "I was approached to audition for the lead actress's part in Arjun Sablok's next film to be made under the Yash Raj banner. But I had to refuse because I didn't have the dates to give them. The film would require me to shoot in Canada for two and a half months, which I couldn't do. I had already committed myself to Miilee. Besides, the film was a Diwali release and needed to be wrapped up soon," she says. But doesn't her refusing the audition hamper any future opportunities with the Chopras? "When they saw how upset I looked because I had to refuse the offer, they told me, "This isn't the last film we are making. We'll definitely keep you in mind for the future," so that comforted me a great deal. They were really nice about the whole thing." She adds, "However much I wanted to do the film, I can't complain about Miilee. I was only approached to audition because they saw my hoardings all over town." Although this was a slight roadblock to her future in Bollywood, the young actress feels like it's only the beginning. "My goal is to end up in Bollywood. I have actually received several other offers as well, but nothing has materialised. Hopefully, something will in the future," she says. Guess the actress needs to be commended on her commitments, because it must be hard saying no to Yash Chopra. Miilee airs Monday through Thursday at 9 pm on Star Plus. |
