We have read it a hundred times, heard it a thousand times and said it a million times – Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus. And from men standpoint it is difficult rather impossible for them to understand women even today.
In an attempt to find out why is it difficult to understand women, Zee TV is all set to come up with first-of-its-kind, women oriented reality show Connected Hum Tum. The show concept originally from Israel has been successfully produced in seven countries and is now being brought to India by Disney UTV's TV content division.
Connected Hum Tum will highlight journey of six women who have dared to bare their soul on national television. Wonder why the expression – dare to bare!!! Well these women have not only just shot their entire life on camera by themselves but have agreed to share it without any fear or qualms.
These six daring women are Preeti Kochar – a dentist and belly dance instructor, Brand manager at Diesel – Pallavi Barman, actress Mahima Chaudhary, activist Sonal Gyani, Red FM' famous RJ Malishka Mendonca, and Madhavi Mauskar – a corporate trainer.
Amidst the real life ups and downs of these six women, audience will also get a male perspective of the situation in hand. The channel has roped in the happy go lucky modernDev D of Bollywood – Abhay Doel as anchor of the show. He is the latest entrant to shake hands with Television and ride the wave of anchoring a reality TV show.
About his debut he quotes "As the host of the show, I intend to leave the audience with how I perceive the women through my lens! I will raise questions that will make them think"
According to Zee TV content head Ajay Balwankar "The core idea at the heart of 'Connected Hum Tum' is to bring families together by demystifying relationships. In studying the mind space of six women at different crossroads in life, Zee TV gives the audiences a chance to understand the psyche of today's Indian woman, thereby understanding the women in our own lives better."
Directed by Paromita Vohra, the show will run for 65 episodes and has been under production for almost two years now. All the participating women have formally undergone a technical training on handling the camera without interfering with their day-to-day chores.
This peep show format is new to Indian TV and it is yet to be seen if this format will be able to garner audience acceptance. The show premieres on June 3, 2013 at 10:00 pm and will run on weekdays on Zee TV.
