The Chennai Express babe was shown the exit door from Sajid Nadiadwala's big banner film Kick and Jacqueline Fernandez will now play the lead gal opposite Sallu

Deepika Padukone has been expressing her desire to work with Salman Khan for a long time now. And she was almost finalised for Kick just when Jacqueline Fernandez entered the scene and impressed the makers with her fencing skills in Race 2.
We hear DP was zeroed in for the role because the lead chick opposite Salman had to indulge in some high-octane action and Ms Padukone fit the bill perfectly. But looks like Deepika's closeness to Shahrukh Khan made a certain Mr Sallu bhai go green with envy. All the praise he showered DP with after watching Cocktail vanished into thin air. Seems like DP's strong friendship with SRK clouded his judgment of casting the leggy lass as a hardcore action babe in this film. Also if you have kept a track – DP is back to being friends with her ex beau Ranbir Kapoor who doesn't exactly feature in Sallu's good books because of his super cool (ahem ahem!) relationship with Katrina Kaif. And amidst all this brouhaha, Jacqueline Fernandez is making the most of her freedom. Now that she's released herself from Sajid Khan's stubby fingers, she can give her nod to whatever project she likes – in this case, Sajid Nadiadwala's Kick being the first instance.

But we wonder what makes Jackky a suitable replacement? She has neither proved her acting credentials nor has a slew of blockbusters in her resume; she is still a rookie as compared to our Chennai Express chick. Well, wethinks Nadiadwala needed someone who could spare dates and who hasn't taken panga with anyone till now, especially Salman Khan, and that made her fit the bill perfectly…what say readers?

Deepika has always said that she wants to do a romantic movie with salman and these kick type of movies obviously has no role for the heroine so i dont think SRK is the reason at all !

Jacki over shadowed dpad in race-2! i know she cant act but who wants an actress to act in a sallu movie? all i know is she has charm and there were scenes she shone in race-2 compared to dpad who seemed so utterly disinterested and left no mark at all

jacki was the best female lead in race -2- had the best role from the females, the most screen time among the three female leads, the only one with a hit number among the female leads- ameesha and dpad come second even though former had more screen time surprisingly!
