Hussain and Tina won Rs 20 lakh
When favourites Hiten-Gauri and Tanaaz-Bakhtyaar were voted out of Nach Baliye 2, the final result was a foregone conclusion.
And expectedly, Hussain and wife Tina won the trophy and walked away with Rs 20 lakh.
4 lakh votes
Soon after their triumph Yash and Gauri Tonk, Hussain told MiD DAY they did not expect to win by a huge margin of 4 lakh votes. "The margin of victory is overwhelming. We thank all fans who voted for us and made this victory possible."
Tina said they would invest the prize money wisely, but the final decision will be taken by Hussain. "I just cannot believe it. I don't even belong to this industry. What a night!" Hussain added, "The feeling is yet to sink in. We plan to go on a nice holiday with some close friends."
Disappointed
Gauri Tonk admitted she was very disappointed with the result, but added, "We are feeling very bad for ourselves. But at the same time, very happy for Tina and Hussain because they are not just good dancers but also wonderful human beings." Gauri added she would first take the runners-up trophy to her father, who is being treated at Nanavati Hospital for lung fibrosis.
Yash, however, said, "I am not sad we lost. It's great to have reached the final," he said.
