Chapter 1

The sun was setting behind the harvested fields ,as the birds returned to there nest and the sky had a red scattered light all over the city of Jalandar , people from all day hard work were returning from there office to there home ,the feeling of being back at home was so pleasurable no matter where you live but still home is always a dweeling place for humans so like most of the day labourer manyata left her office at the accurate time of 6 as the sun was setting and so was her energy ,since a past few days she had gone through so much of mental trauma for her marriage and after aryaan left she was totally broken , after the whole days hard work all she needed was to give her tried legs a bit of rest , as she got a public vechile and went back to her home ,as she creaked open the iron rode of the gate a strange aroma was filled in the air ,her heart skipped beats while there were butterfly running all over her tiny stomach ,she closed her eyes and took a deep breath as this kind of thing always indicated bad omen as she made her way inside and as she entered the living room her eyes popped out as she could feel her heart sinking ,she just wanted to cry out loud but situation did not favor her there was her granny sitiing vertically to menuka aunty and a handsomely dressed young man ,with sweets and gifts box all over the place , she got the clear indication they were here to finalize the marriage she wanted to scream and just run away but her brain controlled her heart as her dadi headed towards her with a smile and the duppata which was wrapped around her neck was now above her head like a vail as she was taken to the seat , it was for the first time she was so sad after seeing menuka aunty as she could feel the other guy gaze piercing into her she looked up to meet his eyes as ghoosebumps ran across her body his eyes had fireballs , he looked like a hurt tiger as manyata turned her face to avoid his gaze and both the ladies got indulge into there conversation

MENUKA:This is my son mrinalini ji udayveer

UDAY;Namaste

MRINALINI:Namaste beta and as you know this is my grand daughter manyata

Manyata fixed her gaze down to the ground and replied weakly

MANYATA:Namaste

Mrinalini could get the clean signal of her discomfort but to her prestige was more than anything as she said

MRINALINI:I guess she is feeling shy

MENUKA;manyata beta don't you want to ask him anything

Manyata just shook her head in a no as she knew if she said even a word she would end up crying so she prevailed silence as mrinalini turned towards uday and asked

MRINALINI:beta do you want to ask anything about manyata

UDAY:no

MENUKA:I guess the youngstars are shy in front of us we need to leave them alone for some time

Saying this both the ladies went out of the room leaving manveer all alone ,uday kept his gaze fixed on her ,he knew that he hated her because he was being emotionally forced on this relationship and after marriage he would leave no stone unturned to make it clear to her that it was compromise but for now he ahd to bear with her so he decided to start a conversation and said

UDAY:I heard a lot about you from mom and I think all she said was truth but still there are something I want to annalyse myself I hope you do not mind me cross questioning

She shook her head in a no as he smirked and continued and asked

UDAY:I wanted to ask whether before your marriage was fixed was you into a relationship with someone

Just a simple question but hell broke down for her as she started to figit with her duppata ,but finally she got up the courage she looked into his eyes and asked

MANYATA:does falling in love too means getting in relationship ,I do not want to hide anything I was indeed in love with someone but never dared to pull it for relationship but I promise since the day I got the news of our marriage I decided to lock my heart for him and so will I for the entire life

He was taken by her honestly ,this simple words affected his heart ,a wave of emotion ran through him as he looked into her innocent face and trembling troubled eyes but his chains of thoughts were broken by her voice as she asked in a soft voice

MANYATA:can I ask you the same question ? was you into some kind of relationship before our marriage was fixed

Uday was not trutefull instead he did not even think it necessary for her to know anything about him and lied

UDAY:no I was never into any relationship

Just then disturbing manveer mrinalini and menuka entered

MENUKA:so I guess all discussion over

UDAY:yes mom

MRINALINI:so beta we have decided to get you both married by the end of this month

Both gave a fake smile as menuka hugged uday while mrinalini feeded manyata sweets ,she was shocked she had never seen her dadi so hostile towards her and so she decided she would give up anything for this smile on her face and she will marry him and be a good wife to him ,so that her dadi be proud of her ,but she was totally unaware the man she was getting married had plans to turn her into ashes and crush her soul ,she was rushing towards a cliff and her eyes were blinded by the happiness of her dadi
