So when she was playing a trick it made her remember all the times she had spend with her daughter, made her probably once more have the urge to see her kangan, made her try to solve Arnav and Khushi's problem as a mother not a grandmother. She was probably missing her daughter very much too- because Khushi's presence made her- probably close to her daughter. Then when Arnav said- after her saying for some people money is the price of everything- she understood probably where she went short in parenting. Her daughter seemed to speak through her- Not everything can be appraised with money.
The next trick was drawing Khushi to Arnav where he feels closest to Mom- his garden and that too silently- because Arnavjiko Shor sharaba pasand nehi. And she also took with her the milk- as a dutiful concerned daughter-in-law and stayed quiet. However that trick also seemed not to work. However his mom's message seemed to have at last being conveyed to Arnav- because he asked for milk. So when Khushi did exactly what Arnav's mom may have ordered her- create more noise to irritate him- and Arnav seemed to understand his mistake.
After reading Mom's letter with Anjali Arnav said my mom would not recognize me and probably not love me anymore- it seemed as if Khushi was instructed to go and see that Arnav was in distress. And mom wanted her son to have someone he loved and understand not to hate love.
When Arnav saw Khushi and his first meeting on TV it seemed as if he wanted to tell Khushi's parents in anger- that he is marrying Lavanya and not their daughter. It must have hurt them. When Khushi was looking at both her rings it seemed as if she was complaining to her parents and asking them to give them what she is asking. We know parents try to move heaven and earth to fulfil wishes of children, but would not want them to be in a relationship where they have no value. So when Khushi was hurt they did not want Arnav back in her life- a person who will cause her distress. Then after Arnav was hurt remembering his parents he went outside on the pretext of finding his mom and communicate again with Khushi's parents. However - Khushi's parents were not speaking with him since he was not speaking with their daughter. So when Khushi came- he broke his silence. He told them all- have they become stars. He for the very first time was introduced to Khushi's parents. Her mom and her dad. Then he asked- "Are they happy now seeing us". He maybe implied- were they happy seeing ARSHI togather again speaking with each other.
Then came the second question- is my mom happy with me. It was a question not only to Khushi- but probably to his mom's soul which is around and from Khushi's dad to see if he could then communicate with his mom. The answer was in Khushi's ring under his foot. During remarriage he called the ring Khushi- so this time it meant- to take Khushi whom he considers someone so worthless which he can trample under his shoes in his hands.

Episode 122: The pursuit of Sakoon (Peace)
"Unki khanak mein itna sukoon that, ki saare din ki thakawat uttar jaati thi"
" So much peace lied in those kangan that it took away the whole day's fatigue"
Arnav Singh Raizada reached unbelievable heights, heights that perhaps he wouldn't have strived for had it not been for this one tragic even in his life. The loss of his mother. He has everything, but the one thing his mother took with her...his "sukoon", his peace. Clearly this man is starving for this peace and perhaps that fatigue of this life never goes away either. The effects of losing his mother, are tremendous on this him
If ASR was a bollywood fan (which he is not), and he was watching the famous exchange between Vijay (Amitab Bacchan) and Ravi (Shashi Kapoor) in the movie Dewaar, he would undoubtedly side with Ravi.
Vijay: Aaj mere paas bangla hai, gadi hai, paisa hai...tumhare paas kya hai? (today i have a big house, a car, money, what do you have??)
Ravi: Mere paas Maa hai! (I have Mother)
For some reason this famous dialogue popped up in my head. Yes money is important to him, it defines him, but would he have been so driven to believe that Money = Power if his uncle and this "Bedard Duniya" (heartless world) hadn't left his to fend for himself and for his sister? and even today if given the option his fortune or his mom back, a heartbeat wouldn't go by in him choosing the latter. That sukoon is priceless and he knows it's worth.
Anjali had opened a box of memories when she opened the box that carried the Kangan (Gold bracelets) their mom had kept aside for her future daughter-in-Law. The Arnav and Anjali share their memories of the khanak (noise made by the bracelets) these two Kangan exuded. Anjali said when she would tuck them in, they would fall asleep just with the noise of the Khanak. Arnav who had been staring non-stop at them as she pulled them out and held them, adds fondly what they meant to him
"Unki khanak mein itna sukoon that, ki saare din ki thakawat uttar jaati thi"
" So much peace lied in those kangan that it took away the whole day's fatigue"
...the serene peace he can only try an obtain in his garden where he feels closest to her.
Anjali talks about their mother's excitement to put them on her daughter-in-law, as she put them in the box. And was a letter, a rather cute one as per Anjali. The bro-sis duo laughed whole heartily the time it was written but she tears up "tab hamme kaha pata tha, ki maa nahi, bas...bas ek chitthi rahe jaayenge." (How were we to know then that no mom, but this letter will survive)
Slowly she opens the letter, Arnav already filled with nostalgia braces himself. Oh this is hard for him, the constant swallowing, the involuntary tears.
"Hamare Chotey ki bahugena, waise to hum yeh kangan aapko khood hi pehnane wale hai, par aapko ek raaz ki baat batani hai, isi liye likh rahe hai, dhyan rakhiyega, aur sawdhaan rahiyega. Hamaare chotey ke naak pe bahut saara gussa rehta ha, aur dil mein dher saara pyaar, gussa bardasht karna aur pyaar sut sammit waapis lautana"
Translation "To our Chotey's wife, I will put these kangan on you myself, but wanted to tell you a little secret, that's why i'm writing. Be careful and be warned, lots of anger resides on my chotey's nose, and tons of love in his heart. put up with his anger and return the love with interest."
Truly, an adorable letter, only a mother could ask someone to put up with with their son's anger and return his love with interest. A jist of how well she know her son, and a bit of concern for his explosive nature too. She wanted to make sure her chotey wasn't misunderstood and loved to the fullest.
Hearing those words bring water to his eyes, most definitely he just misses her
"Aaj maa tumhe aaj dekhti to (if she could see you today) "
"Pehechaan bhi nahi pati mujhe!" he cuts in, a comment that contradicts his pride. The pride he always take in becoming Arnav Singh Raizada. Almost as if he feel he doesn't deserve the love his mother wanted to make sure he received.
Barun once again proves his talent by displaying the most detailed, complicated of emotions...for example the way he tried to control his tears just as he got up to leave, we could feel the the excruciating hurt from within. this guy is UNBELIEVABLE!
"Chotey!" Anjali tried to stop him, but he had to leave
Khushi walks in looking for Anjali.
She comes to a standstill at the sight of his tears, she's seen them before and knows they don't come easy. He leaves, she gets and answer from Anjali.
Out by the poolside, he stood silently looking up at the stars when Khushi enters to pick up the dried chilies. As soon as she walked in she felt his pain, she look up at the stars he was watching. She wanted to make it ok. But how could she break the deal? so she moves on to the chilies.
Ofcourse her mehsoos had given her away a moment she walked in. Without looking back he asks as if a little boy.
"Kya woh sach mein taare ban jaatien hai?"
Khushi freezes with a bit of shock. The man who initiated the "no talking" rule and held up his end when he was to explode on her at numerous times today, breaks the deal. and there is no "bahes"(tiff) the reason he came up with the deal. Just an answer to his question in her her own way.
"Baat sach ya jhooth ki nahi hai, baat yekin ki hai"
" its not about trueth or not, is about belief"
she steps beside him, he is no longer alone
"hamara dil hamse kaheta hai, ki woh taara hamaari amma hai, aur uske paas waala hamaare babuji...hamesha hamme dekh te rahe te hai,aur issi tara timtimate hai aur -"
Translation : "My heart tells me, that star is my mother, and the one beside is my father...the alwaya look at me and sparkle and"
He cuts in
"Kya woh hamme dekh kar khush hai?" (Are they happy looking at us?) how he carries every bit of that pain in his voice, he modifies his question
"Kya meri m-m-maa mujh dekh kar khush hai?"
"Is my m-m-mom happy seeing me?"
here was this man that brushed everything off as rubbish, ready and willing to believe anything this girl says as this moment. Khushi just feels for him, she looks at him. If he can't see her tears, she can't see him in pain. Just today she took a tall glass of milk after he ate that red hot mirchi daal out of spite. And this very second, she wishes there was a glass of milk to take away this kind of pain, she would run and get it for him.
He looks at her with so much desperation for an answer and a need for her to say "yes".
As she looks in his eyes, she has never seen them so vulnerable so in need. Barun some how physically changed their shape to shows this difference. Amazing!
The Arnav behind ASR. he has never opened up to anyone like this before, maybe because of the bond that night created when she let out all of her secrets and opened up to him. Here is a new level of the understanding between each other.
But,she can't answer his question, perhaps because she feels she can't tell the truth. How can his mother be happy when her son is in so much pain, everyday of his life. He notices her discomfort and doesn't push her, but a tear forming in her eye,
she excuses herself "Hum zara" and he turns back. Before leaving, she uses his words that always seem to soothe her. A small attempt at getting him milk for this kind of pain.
"Aap teek to hai na?"
"you are ok, arent you?"
Instant change in his eyes, the soothing at work maybe? Turning to his side, a slight nod from him...she wishes she could do more but leaves. He slowly raises his eyes to see her and the follow her till she disappears.
Why does he look at her in this way? does he get a sense of sukoon from her, his pain did seem to ease out a bit after she left. He allows her to soothe him, doesn't he? no resistance the normal ASR would have...after all he was taking sips of milk, thanks to Khushi's idea before Di came into his room for that box of kangan.
Also we never see him regret these moments like we do so many other times, here he doesn't feel like he's losing control...deosn't let that "farq" in the way this time...interestingly this is most open he has left himself to her thus far.
Unfortunatly Khushi never got to see or read the letter (in season 1's duration😉)...but that bit about "gussa bardasht (put up with his anger)" and "pyaar sut samit (Love with interest)", Thats what she does isn't it? many women of today were bothered by Khushi's constantly taking his wrath, accused of losing the backbone she once had, but now i understand more than ever why it was written that way. It was in her make-up wasn't it? to understand and "bardaast" the anger and to return all of his love with full interest.
Ofcourse in the future, she will be the one to wear those kangans and the one to finally bring him the sakoon that he so needs in his life. Also WIWY (thank you sauten!! 🤗) had pointed out the calming/soothing blue Arnav wore during the hospital hug, well here Khushi is wearing a similar calming/soothing blue. Its begging to be read too much into. If they hurt each other the most, they are each others biggest healers.
for threads 10/11, i had written a small piece about how the stars play a role in this story, and made connection throughout including scenes from episode 122. Here is a little excerpt from that piece Written in the stars ( click link and scroll up)
How can we leave out the most precious moment the stars gave us? Khushi tells his picture "Chaliye muskuraaiye! chaliye! (come on smile! come on!)" and how, a gleaming, glowing smile brighter than the stars themselves slowly appears on Arnav's face as he look up to the sky, his true happiness beaming from within knowing that she'll finally be his forever.
It bought closure to the moment that started it all for me, If Khushi were here, she would finally answer him:
"Haan Arnavji, aaj aapki aama aapko dekh ke bahut khush hai"
"Yes Arnavji, today your mom is very happy seeing you"
DROOL CORNER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
❤️ this! he feels better after Khushi star gazes with him ❤️ awww

Episode 119-120
"Where the hell is my"-... Khushi??? ...oh i so want to finish that sentence for him! 😆 He walks in like a hurricane but freezes like an ice storm at the feel of her mehsoos, then a soft warm summery breeze...some pretty tunes to go along, she also feels the breeze in the kitchen.
He devours it, as does she. She shakes it off, while Arnav is interrupted by JP. "Where is my Singhania file?" after an unsatisfactory answer he moves on full force to his room for the file
He searches high and low then asks for Di...and after getting his answer, he cuts HP off when the poor guy wants to tell him where his fianc is..."only answer what you're asked!"...uff what gussa on his nose, wonder what he would've said had he mentioned KHushi's name instead..😉
He storms into kitchen and yells at the top of his lungs "DI mere singhanial wali file"...the loud sound of "DI", startles the girl up on the ladder getting the oil container, she waables and falls down.
His reflexes kick in and catches her, he always sambhaals, hamesha. How his arms have missed her, she fits so perfectly there... her eyes closed from the fall in fear,
![]()
his are wide open but as if he's dreaming. Pure joy in his eyes, he forgets to blink...She opens her eyes, equally delighted to see his face, her dupata flies high in a dance of happiness for the newly engaged couple who meets for the first time after their engagement. You would think he hasn't seen her for ages, in their defense, this one day felt longer to both.
Soft beautiful melodic music... once this moment is soaked up, the bliss gives way to some anger. Both remember what they said to each other with tons of pride...He wasn't going to see her shakkal again and she was never to meet him, but here they are the very next day. She's back in his house, his life and in his arms.
"Tum yahan kya kar rahi ho??" (What are you doing here)
"w-Woh, Lavanyaji -"
"meine kaha tha na, apni shakkal mat dikhana!?...just get lost!" Just get lost he says, all the while still cradling her in his arms and she has her hands around his neck.. he forgot to put her down, how at home they both must feel.
"app hamme chodenge tab hi to hum.." (if you put me down then i..)
Arnave has an "ooops" moment but the pride the arrogance would never let him show it. Well he puts her down, But how he puts her down, is another story, it can be a quick "Rabba Ve" moment in its own way.
All his yearning/desire he just can't help it, she felt the jatka and steps back, because he never would
"Why did you come here?" she tried to explain, but he keeps cutting her off, very reminiscent of her first day at the RM when he also found her in the Kitchen. And though the insults and the accusations were still there, it was as thought he had to say them unlike the last time, he really wanted her out. Today he wants to say she needs to go but he knows how badly he needs her to stay.
"jitni baar tumhe iss ghar se nikaalo, tum waapis aa hi jaati ho" yep, she always comes back in his heart..in fact he can never completely nikaal her. He asks what stupid excuse he has now. "Kabhi Lavany ne bulaya, Kabhi Di ne bulaya" teeh grinding "all lies!"
"Jab aap jawaab sun na hi nahi chahte to sawaal ky kar rahe hai (when you don't want to know the anster why are you asking the questions?)?" great point by Khushi.
He always has to come to money when trying to driver her away, "why do you always come to money"
"Because i know that you-"
Di interrupts his insult, "don't talk like this Chotey, she's here to help us. You should think about how many other people feel when you talk like this" Di goes on to tell him that Khushi is helping out for free, Ahhh, now he feels bad., he knows how much she needs the money. Anjali goes on to say that she's making money tutoring the kids..."she doesn't work for you and doen't work for me."
slight eye movements on his face, i see an apology for her. Anjali hands him the file that he was looking for so intently, doesn't seem so important now.
"Khushi rukko mujh tumse kuch baat karni hai (Khushi wait, i wasn't talk to you about something)" what a lover thing to say. As always she must defy even if its briefly. His teeth grind "didn't you hear? i want to talk to you!" what a hubby thing to say. She knows she has to stop "kahiye, ab kya kehna chahte hai, shayad aapko hamaar aur beizzati karni hai" His words really do hurt her, regardless of her understanding his behavior. "Enough" he doesn't want a reminder to how he hurts her. 😉Now Ami their husband wife like fightwa was so original.
"hum jab bhi baat karty hai yeh hi hota hai" he takes a deep breath to gather some strength knowing how hard this will be for him, then in his ASR tone " iss liye ab se, na mein tum se koi baat karoonga aur na tum mujhse koi baat karogi "you come here, do what want, but don't talk to me bas, this is what will be good for me and for you too...na hum koi bat karenge, na koi bahes hogi (if we don't talk there will be no tiffs)"
To this Khushi also has to gather some courage before turning around and puts her "farq nahi padta" mask on agrees to this deal. 😉 Now we should know how husband and wife communicate without speaking.
Later on during the kidnapping when they talk to each other via the stars, they both say that they both tried so hard not to fall in love with each other, here is perfect example of their koshish. and like all of the koshish's (trying) this one also will only help them bring closer. A few lighter moments as a result of this deal are on the way all the while keeping their love front and center... and when finally this deal is broken by the instigator, how it will touch the other.
Before the new day with lots of loud silence comes, the night must come.
Arnav gets a reminder of her on tv, his first meeting with her at Sheeshmahel. He seems to have gotten the message that was being conveyed that his connection with her goes back to that day. His mind rushes to the moments he wishes to take back, anger kicks in, he goes to change the channel. but enter La. Thankfully the news guy stops talking about Khushi and starts talking about his engagement announcement to her. I just realized, La has no idea that Arnav met Khushi before she started to work for ASR. La is happy to be seeing news of they engagement and wedding.👏 I realized that no one knew Khushi was the girl who fell in his arms in Lucknow. Really wanted a small part when Anjali who knew about the incident would recognize Khushi as being the girl.
"ASR, we're going to get married, thanks to Chamkili, if she wasn't here, this day would never come. I never believed in marriage till she showed me its importance" La goes on and on about Chamkili's thinking, her values...
Arnav becomes visibly agitated by the farq merely her name causes. He explodes, "OH stop it Lavany, will you!!?! i'm marrying you, uski thinking, uske principles, aur shaadi ko le kar uske khayalat se nahi! you get it?"...La was always less complicated, her relationship with her was so practical, but now even she can't stop bringing Khushi up in front of him...what is a man to do, he storms off.
At the Gh, Payal has managed to tickle the true feelings out of Khushi...atleast her true feelings about the marriage to Shyaam.
"haan jiji, i don't want' to, meaning not so soon...babuji is not feeling and how can i marry before you?" to this selfless Payal says, that's not big deal, but Khushi notifies it is a big deal, ofcourse she couldn't mention the whole being in love with Arnavji thing. I really hoped she would. Payal decides to tease her little sister a bit "do you know Bauaji is getting you married of so soon??" Khushi gets so serious and shakes her head then she braces herself for the answer
"because she wants this sanka devi off her back asap"...Khushi makes her O face and the tickle fight ensues. One things is for sure, after seeing her Arnavji and the fact that she will be seeing him on a regular basis had done wonders for Khushi's mood.😃
The next day, time to start living up the deal. Khushi arrives, and Arnav opens the door, both remember their words...not talking with each other. he tries to get past her and she him, only problem...they move the same direction, after a little left right, Leave it to Arnav to go past her with a little flirty bang-in brush with her shoulder. Reminds me of teenage flirting.😆
Lots of things going on, La and Anjali still trying ways to keep Khushi around while Maami is in detective mode, trying to discover the "kaala " in the daal or the trying to figure out the brand new daaal being cooked.
Khush has picked up a call from Aman and is told to deliver an urgent message to Arnav. His London tele-conference has moved up from 1:00 to 12:00.
"hey Bhagwaan, how will i tell him, i'm not even talking to him" only Khushi would take their deal so literally, just like in Nainital when she fell in the ditch and scared the bejeseez out of Arnav simply b/c she was told to keep her quiet for 5 mins with the threat of half her salary. her innocence well captured here again
Gasp! she realizes there is not much time. Luckily he walks through the door.
"Aa-a" she stops herself, not allowed to talk, "i can't even say anything"
so she jumps in front of him, "what the!" slips out and cute game of charades follows. she tries to give him the message in her own sign language..he is supposed to try and guess but is thoroughly confused, and surely amused, but leaves, so back to square one for Khushi. So Mr ASR is good at setting rules but not so good at following them himself. So he did start the conversation back with Khushi with his legendary " What the".
Sanaya is truely the queen of these scenes that require so much out of her from expression to body language. brilliant. Barun of course also compliments her antics perfectly with his unmatched expressions.
When he found her in the kitchen, he talked rudely to her again, insulted her again and initiated their "not talking to each other" deal, this morning he bumped her in order to get past...she didn't have to get him the message...it's not like he could yell at her, yet she doesn't think twice about getting him the message. She knows how important his work is to him.
Gasp! again. Only 5 mins left, of course a pen and paper, she manages to jot down the message with the constant tugging of La, but is unable to get it to him so she asks HP to get "that" to Arnavji and whatever is written there is really important and to read carefully... Only problem? "That" flew away and the only thing left on the table was the Ram Charitra Manas, a religious book. So its not hard to imagine ASR's reaction
"yeh book, Khushi ne di, mujhe? kyu? " (this book? Khushi gave? to me? why?)
OP also becomes the innocent victim in all of this again...poor guy only here as a messenger "She said to read, its urgent"
"Pagal ho gayee hai kya woh (had she gone crazy)?"
"poochh ke aayee?" fearful HP afraid of saying the wrong thing
"oh shut-up! go from here!!"
Later when Khushi Asks to make sure that OP got the message to Arnav, he notifies "haan, gussa to bahu huye, par aap ne jo diya, rakh liya unohne (he kept what you sent). ...yes he kept a religious book because it was from Khushi, surely he didn't read it, and probably put back where it belongs, but it was from her...there was a sense of caring from her to him that he kept. 😊They never really needed words to talk, their eyes, their connection, their mehsoos was enough...as for avoiding tiffs with this deal? well we'll soon see they don't need words for those either.
DROOL CORNER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think he was also missing his mother. Their moments with stars are truely briliantly portrayed. Like during the female rabba vey when they were again infront of the stars.
"Baat sach ya jhooth ki nahi hai, baat yekin ki hai"
" its not about trueth or not, is about belief"
she steps beside him, he is no longer alone
"hamara dil hamse kaheta hai, ki woh taara hamaari amma hai, aur uske paas waala hamaare babuji...hamesha hamme dekh te rahe te hai,aur issi tara timtimate hai aur -"
Translation : "My heart tells me, that star is my mother, and the one beside is my father...the alwaya look at me and sparkle and".
Brilliant way of meeting in laws. Even those who had passed away. Reminded me of Arnav taking Khushi to Mom's garden.
He cuts in
"Kya woh hamme dekh kar khush hai?" (Are they happy looking at us?) how he carries every bit of that pain in his voice, he modifies his question. Yes as if he wanted to show their parents that he has stopped his no talking rule for them. As if he wanted Khushi's parents to speak to his own parents and ask his mom if she is happy with him. As if he wanted that message to be conveyed through Khushi to him- his missing his mom.
😃 Nicely put. However I think Khushi was also in a dilemma that she no longer has the right to him as before. He has decided that he was giving every right he had given to her to Lavanya, even if that is mirchi daal.
He looks at her with so much desperation for an answer and a need for her to say "yes".
As she looks in his eyes, she has never seen them so vulnerable so in need. Barun some how physically changed their shape to shows this difference. Amazing!👏
He notices her discomfort and doesn't push her, but a tear forming in her eye, 👏 I also doubt his mother would have been happy knowing his son hated love and hated the fact that he loved Khushi, and because he hated loving Khushi was all set to enter a loveless engagement. I was remembering how frequently parents in real life wish that for their children. To enter a marriage with a person whom they feel is suitable over some one whom they love.
she excuses herself "Hum zara" and he turns back.
👏Every emotionally portrayed Amy I was close to tears.
Here is a little excerpt from my piece Written in the stars for threads 10/11, with slight modifications where i've written about how the stars play a role in this story, making connection throughout including scenes from episode 122.

The effects of losing his mother, are tremendous on this him
brilliant observation.it's true his mom's impact in his life is tremendous.
" So much peace lied in those kangan that it took away the whole day's fatigue"
...the serene peace he can only try an obtain in his garden where he feels closest to her.
i was very disappointed with the cvs that they never gave Khushi his mom's letter. But when Arnav took her in that sacred garden my heart sighed a relief.
Be careful and be warned, lots of anger resides on my chotey's nose, and tons of love in his heart. put up with his anger and return the love with interest."

this letter is priceless.

Truly unbelievable.

and never will be alone.I didn't mention in my analysis that his mom sent her there to comfort him.
"hamara dil hamse kaheta hai, ki woh taara hamaari amma hai, aur uske paas waala hamaare babuji...hamesha hamme dekh te rahe te hai,aur issi tara timtimate hai aur -"

very well said. their bonding is so strong that can be easily penetrated by them.
He looks at her with so much desperation for an answer and a need for her to say "yes".

yes he is amazing.

You got it why She couldn't answer him. She just wanted to absorb all his pain.
she excuses herself "Hum zara" and he turns back. Before leaving, she uses his words that always seem to soothe her. A small attempt at getting him milk for this kind of pain.

lovely cognitive thought. Khushi already was following the instructions without reading the letter.

can't agree more.
for threads 10/11, i had written a small piece about how the stars play a role in this story, and made connection throughout including scenes from episode 122. Here is a little excerpt from that piece Written in the stars ( click link and scroll up)
