I liked their energy'

The actor, despite being very sick, chilled with the 'Bigg Boss' inmates.

Making a promotional appearance for 'Kabul Express', John Abraham did all but plug his film when he visited the inmates of 'Bigg Boss' (Sony). Though John was down with flu, it didn't stop him from mingling with the inmates, eating their kababs and watching them dance.

"They greeted me with extreme joy. After weeks of being cut away from the real world, they are stripped open in terms of emotions, are vulnerable and genuinely nice people. Its circumstances that make them behave the way they do," says John.

Admitting to being nervous at making this appearance, he adds, "It went better than I thought. I am a very basic person and they saw that in me and connected with me accordingly. I liked their energy in the house and wouldn't have minded spending a few days there. But I would ask the channel not to bring in anyone from outside world and maintain the reality in the show."

Talking of surviving in similar conditions like 'Bigg..', John says, "Man is the meanest of all species and will survive under any extreme conditions. Living in these conditions is a learning experience,"

Is he open to working on TV? "No way, this is a one off!" he says firmly. The inmates were also treated to his film 'Kabul Express'.

Rare moment: John Abraham with Kajol at Zee Muzic's launch of the John Abraham calendar shot by Subi Samuel in Mumbai

After more than a month of dal, rice and khichdi, the eight inmates of Bigg Boss were allowed to serve up a feast on Thursday (to be shown on Friday night on Sony at 9 pm). The Bigg Boss house became the Sher-e-Bigg Boss house with the inmates given two hours to prepare a grand meal from the mouth-watering ingredients in the storehouse.

The preset menu to be readied in the couple of hours included Shammi Kebab, Sheekh Kebab and Chicken Tikka for non-vegetarians and Paneer Shashlik and Hara Bhara Kebab for vegetarians. While the girls — Roopali, Carol, Anupama and Ragini went about preparing the heavy-duty meal, the men — Ravi, Rahul, Deepak and Amit — waited with bated breath to pounce on the food.

The kebab platter was not the only treat awaiting the eight. Bollywood hunk John Abraham was the star surprise of the evening, turning up for a tete-a-tete with the Bigg Boss inmates. John even had a special screening of Kabul Express for the bunch completely shut out from the outside world in a house in Karjat, two hours from Mumbai

He's right, no one from the 'outside. world' should be brought into the BB house. But I didn't mind his 'special appearance'. 😳
