TVD Couples - Messed up much?

Ok, so this rant has remained repressed for a long time and I guess I should just let it out now. it's a long read, so guys - be warned.

WHAT. THE. HELL is wrong with these writers? Why do they have to go around ruining every damn couple on the show? Every duo that has been paired gets jinxed once they're loved and appreciated by the audience.

EVERY ONE OF THEM.

Starting with Caroline and Matt. They were adorable. Hot, vain blonde with the down to earth bus boy were a treat to watch. She matured and he learned to cope with the miseries of his human life and everything was fine until she turned into a vampire and Matt decided to walk away. Then came in wolfy Lockwood. They bonded over mutual hurdles and hardships and Caroline and Tyler slowly became the hottest thing onscreen. The love they had for each other grew with time and the audiences loved them. BOOM!

Then the writers decide to write off Tyler and bring in Klaus' obsession for a hot seventeen year old immortal. Understandable, his constant whining and pining for a girl who would naturally hate him. Illogical how he expected her to fall in love with him the way he loved her when he kept killing off her best friend's relatives.

But somehow season 4 showed us a side of Klaroline we could relate to. A kind of forbidden love, the one that ventures into the darkest places and tries to find hope in the most sinister intentions. And just when I started rooting for them, Klaus decides to move to New Orleans and have a baby with Hayley. And there comes the end of a fantasy that hadn't even begun.

Somewhere in between the seasons, little Gilbert manages to get over his love for ghosts and vampires and falls for the witch of the century and both them bond over 'curses and sacrifices'. They fight, but there is a chance still alive (especially during the hunt for the cure) and we begin to feel that maybe Bonnie may get her man back and finally be happy with someone who loves her without using her witchy powers and actually cares for her life. BOOM! They kill him mid-season and leave her obsessing about expression triangles and the veil. Now they've left Bonnie to join him on the other side. Or not.

StelenaDelena. An obsession that has gripped millions worldwide. The writers told us last season that she'd finally pick a brother. She did. And then she screwed him over for the other one. They're saying she'll choose a brother this time too. Any guess which one?

Personally, I'm more of a Salvatore rooter. The brothers love each other way more than anyone else on the show. I remember in 4X15

"D: Humanity means nothing if you don't have anyone to care about Stefan.

S: Listen I know that you and I have been through some bad spots especially when it comes to her and I just want you to know that..

D: I know Stefan"

That was one of the best brother moments on television history. They fight every day and they're ready to rip each other's throat off every other second but they love each other, no matter what.

These brothers would die for each other and Elena honestly does NOT deserve either of them.

Stefan deserves to have a best friend in his girlfriend, the way Lexi was to him. Someone nice and kind and humane. Someone to be happy with. From what Lexi was hinting at in the latest episode, my guess is that it's most likely going to be Caroline.

"S: You have any idea how much I've missed you?

L: Trust me, I do. Although I see I have been replaced by another blonde. She's cute.

S: Don't even start."

Steroline? I really can't think anymore. Stebekah would have been hot, but then Rebekah is totally falling for Matt and she kind of deserves the love he has to offer.

And my darling Damon simply needs to get over the bitch who keeps side tracking him for her own selfish purposes all the time and find someone he can be 'Damon' with. Someone like Rose. They understood each other, with their flaws and complexities. They'd both spent decades chasing the wrong person. Why did they kill her? I loved their friendship. Oh well, death is kind of a daily ritual on TVD.

Damon and Bonnie would be nice. They're both selfless fiery individuals who would die for their loved ones. But somehow, I can't picture them being anything beyond best friends. Maybe it's because I'm so used to Nina and Ian dating and Ian and Kat's offscreen friendship.

And did I mention how much I hated them killing off Jenna and making Alaric live for a whole season without her? I'm happy that he moved one but Jenalaric were gorgeous. Killing Jenna was just shitty.

Did I miss any screwed up couple? Oh there's another one. But that hasn't even started yet. Oh, well I'll say it anyway. I'm really going to miss Matt and Rebekah. It was so refreshing to see Rebekah with a man who honestly and genuinely cared for her. A guy she could be human with and go to prom. Mabekah are adorable but now she's leaving town too. DAMMIT!

I guess the happiest couple on the show are Finn and Sage, lounging somewhere behind the veil. Even though they're dead, they're together. And that's what matters.

Yeah I second your claim that every couple on the show is messed up. Its like TVD has a hidden second heading saying "We'll wreck every couple/ potential couple as soon as YOU start falling for them"

Plus apart from the falling apart and killing scenario, I also dislike Hayley having Klaus's baby, wish it was Caroline somehow. I'm terribly gonna miss seeing Klaus on TVD. He was one of my favorite characters.

umm i donno abt other couples but caroline and matt was one of my favs and still r... ruining them was the worst thing tht happened in tvd .. arghh .. i mean the way caro sang for him and the way he went ahead on stage .. kissed her .. was so passionate .. i eman i still root for them .. they were awesum together .. huh . sighs .. tyler and caro was never my things .. they were all abt sex and no talk .. but klaus and her .. well m not obsessed but its fine with me .. i like bad boys !!

Personally speaking they've messed up the show so much that I don't think there is any magical solution to clean up the mess n come out logical. Looks like the writers are totally confused about what they wanna do with the story lolz! :p N that's why they're just keeping us hanging on a cliff hanger n feeding on sadism by screwing with every couple in the show. So no wonder the show has stopped making sense for a long time.
N I thik Damon-Bonnie is totally overdue now. It's just too much unfair to reduce a book canon into nearly nothing in the show. How can they deprive us of the wickedly brilliant crow-little bird combo ?? How is it possible for Damon n Bonnie to be only friends when they shared this magical deep dark some thing, this undeniable sexual tension in the books ??
Plus the fact that Ian n Kat look just sizzling hot together n from what I heard they go along well offscreen too.
It's not that they're giving us any thing good any thing. Instead they're just butchering whatever good was there to the story e.g. Klaroline, so why not give us Bamon instead, atleast for a while ??
N please for heaven's sake, no more Beremy! Never liked it n hope Bonnie-Jeremy part is over forever. It felt kinda incestuous for Bonnie to be with Elena's littile bro.

AHH. <3 You've covered everything. But.. I actually secretly, want Steroline.. But more than that, I've been dyinggg for Stefrine. <3 Katherine brings out the side of Stefan that no one can...
