Where is it..where is the book. I have to find it in order to clear my doubts.
Maan threw everything that came in his hand on the floor. He needed to find that book where he will know for sure who is Geet. After what seemed like eternity to him, he finally found the book buried underneath his college books. He throws all the books on the floor grabbing what he was looking for. Maan walks toward his sofa, taking a deep breath before opening up the book.
A lot of old memories of his college days were coming back to him. Slowly, he went through each page and stopped at his photo which Sameera had signed declaring her love for him. He scoffs. What a fool he was back in college. The college yearbook was divided into different categories, the most popular, most athletic, most spirited, most likely to be rich, best hair, most likely to become a model, biggest flirt and even biggest looser.
In almost all of the categories Maan was mentioned not that he could blame, he was the most popular student in his college and he had the most fan followers, mostly girls, after him. He goes through each category and stops at the "biggest looser" page.
Whole page was filled with Geet's photos. He looks at her eyes, the same eyes that haunted him when he saw her at the party and in front of his car. The eyes still display same pain as it did in the photos. All the past memories of them in college came back to him. He remembered her bumping into him every single time. Of course, everyone made fun of her since they couldn't do that to me knowing my anger.
He saw another picture of a flyer where she is sitting on top of a donkey. He throws the book on the floor as all of the memories that he had forgotten came back to him. I know what this flyer is all about. Sam used this to make fun of the person Geet had liked in college. I wonder who that person was she liked and if he knew.
This is the same flyer that I had crossed out the face of the donkey. I don't know why I did that but it felt right at that moment. Seeing her in tears sitting at that park bench in pain had pricked my heart. I know I had tried to ignore it, I tried not looking her way and I really tried not looking straight into her eyes knowing once I do something takes over me. I don't know why but her eyes convey so many emotions; they are like window to her soul.
Maan bangs his hand on the table. How could I not recognize her? Why couldn't I see who she was? Thanks to Sameera she thinks I plotted this with her. Me? How can she think so low of me? I didn't know who she was until yesterday after the party. I tried so hard to call her, to get in touch of her but every other person picked up the phone except for her. He needed to make things right. I needed to tell her how I feel about her.
It might not be love but there is something maybe an attractive I feel whenever she is near me. Its like I could never get enough of her. I need to have her in front of me. Maybe its wrong knowing she is engaged but I could tell she has no feelings for the guy. Her smile doesn't reach her eyes whenever she is near him. Why? Is she still in love with the person she liked in college? I have to find out who he is. I have to.

I can't believe I am in the same pain and same position I was in four years ago. I am feeling like the same looser that left the college. The same Geet that was being humiliated in college, I am that person again. Why does this happen to me? Have I done anything at all to Sameera? Its my fault maybe for not talking back to her but for this humiliation I will get back to her. I will make her realize how it feels to be in my shoes. How it feels to have people looking at you in a disgusting way. I will not hide behind anyone and will give tit for tat answers.
Geet wipes her face deciding to go to work. She cannot be the old Geet again. This is new her, new strong Geet and for no one is she going to be weak again. She was grateful for great friends and co-workers but now she has to fight for herself and for what's right.
Maan sat in his car in front of her office for three hours now. He wanted to see her and had a feeling that he might be able to see her today. He needed to set things straight and speak with Geet no matter what. He sipped on his coffee as he looked at the right side of the mirror to catch a glimpse of her, if it needed he will stay here the whole day.
After another hour, Maan finally sees Geet's car arrive toward her store. He could tell from her eyes she had been crying making him feel more guilty. He knew Sam is not the one to apologize but he already made sure she won't do this again. He was the one that made her this famous and he is the one that took away her fame.
After Geet had left the party, Maan called the party off leaving only the two of them alone in the house where she stood with anger and hatred. She had no remorse of what she had done none at all.
"For that girl you slapped me? And that too in front of everyone?"
"You know what you did was wrong? And who invited you anyway? I had told you everything is over between us"
"Ohh come on Maan" (She smiles and sits on a sofa in such a way giving view to Maan of all her private parts. Maan turns around feeling disgusted and angry) "We have been through this again and again, breaking up and all. Anyway, why are you so interested in that cow?"
"She is not a cow Sam. She is more of a woman, a great person and a great friend than you will ever be"
Sameera laughs "Ohh please don't try to compare me with her. During college you didn't give a shit about her. In fact, you didn't even know she existed but all of a sudden since she lost a weight and looks decent enough you started to be interested in her? Wow. You are a hypocrite."
"How dare you say that"
"You know am right Maan. You know it. Just imagine if Geet was fat like she used to be in college than would you be still interested in her? Forget interested, would you even look at her twice? The answer is no, Maan. You wouldn't have just like you didn't in college. At least, I say what's on my mind to the person's face but you.." (she scoffs) "Anyway, my job here is done. I have done what I came to do. I'll see you around"
Maan holds her arm as she was walking past him pulling her closer to him. He holds her cheeks together in anger until she was in pain begging to let go of him. He saw fear in her eyes for him which he quiet enjoyed.
"Listen to me very carefully. Your career that I helped as a model is over! My one phone call will put you out of business. You will no longer come anywhere near me, my house or even my work. If I see you at all, even for a glimpse, I will put you in jail for harrasement and take away the apartment you call home. You understand?" (She shakes her head yes)
"Knock knock"
Maan comes out of his thoughts after hearing someone knocking on his window. He saw Pari standing outside of his car. Maan sighs before rolling down the window to meet her angry gaze.
"How can we help you? We couldn't help but notice you being out here for three hours now"
"I just uhhh came to pay the rest of the money for the party"
"We told you that we don't need your money. Now, if you could please leave our property before we call the cops"
"you really think that cops will put me in?" (Maan smirks) "okay to tell you the truth I am here to see Geet and don't tell me she is not here because I just saw her going inside the building. Either you let me see her now or just wait till I actually buy the company and have you all work for me"
"You..."
"Pari, go inside." (Pari turns around to see Geet standing there. She nodes her head leaving the two alone. Maan comes out of his car with a smile)
"I just came here too"
"The check. You can hand me the check and leave." (she forwards her hand waiting for Maan to place the check on the palm.)
"Geet I came here to apologize. I had no idea that Sam was going to be there and frankly I didn't know that you are the same girl from college. I uhh only hired you based on your capabilities as a designer and a planner"
"If you are done then please give me the check or you can leave before I call the police"
Maan gets irriated and pulls Geet's hand. He pushes her inside the car before driving off. He didn't care that Geet was screaming and yelling in the backseat. He needed to talk to her and if the only way for him to do this was to kidnap her than so be it.
"What are you doing? Stop the car"
Maan ignored her and kept on driving until he stopped at a park. Geet was relieved that there were some people around that could probably help her out of this situation. Last thing she wanted to be anywhere near Maan. After yesterday she was just glad that she would no longer have to see him but alas her hopes have yet again betrayed her.
"I don't want to hurt you Geet. I just want to talk and clear this confusion"
Geet gets out of the car ignoring Maan who was still sitting inside. Maan opens the car door leaning against his door as Geet stood there staring at him. She wanted to leave but she had to know what he wanted to say and hopefully not see him again after today.
"Go ahead you got 10 minutes."
"I uhh didn't know that we went to the same college. I didn't recognize you but yet I knew your eyes looked so familiar. When I first saw you during that rainy day, I knew I had seen those eyes somewhere but couldn't really point out. Geet, what Sameera did was wrong and I didn't want to see you hurt like this. I uhh like you"
"ohh you like me? You like me because am skinny and fit into your criteria for a perfect girlfriend. You like my beauty that's all, nothing else. Just because now you know who I am doesn't change anything at all. Tell me Maan if I was fat like before do you think you would have even noticed me? No. You would have passed by me and ignored me like how it was in college.
Heck, you wouldn't have even hired me as your desginer if I was still the same Geet. No matter how hard you try to deny it the truth will remain the same. Outer beauty is what everyone looks at they don't care about how the person is from inside; the person only looks at whether she is dark, fat, skinny, fair, has pimples, etc...and that is where you fall under as well."
"Geet that is not true."
"it is Maan and I have experienced it. The minute I lost weight all the kids that used to make fun of me behind my back started becoming my friends. All the kids that didnt' even want to look at me or even talk to me started asking me out and hanging out with me because of how I looked from the outside. You, on the other hand, didn't have to worry about this at all and even a girl name Sameera. You guys got whatever you guys wanted, from wealth to looks. Face it Maan we are from two opposite worlds; our worlds cannot be the same at all. Its time that you accept this reality and not bother me again"
"Your eyes are the one that kept haunting me all these years Geet." (She looks at him shocked) "Its true I didn't know your face or you but your eyes are the only things that haunted me. The day when you fell on me at the mall and ruined my shirt. I wanted to yell and scream at the person responsilbe but when I saw your eyes looking me from behind your friend. I forgot everything. Those eyes held so much innocence that I had ever seen before. Whenever I had closed my eyes all I saw was those eyes. Something was pulling me towards them, Geet.
Even after all these years (he steps closer to her holding her hand. He puts away the tiny hair strand behind her ear making her look at him in shock. She wanted to move away but he kep ther hypontized with his looks and touch) these eyes never left my mind. I find some kind of peace when I think about these eyes. I knew that for me it didn't matter about the look as long as these eyes are in front of me."
She felt his lips touch her right cheek. She wanted to hug him but her body betrayed her. This is the first time that she has been this close to Maan hell first time she has been this close to any guy even including Raj. She always maintained a distance between them but being this close to Maan seemed so right as if she belongs here this close to him.
"Geet..."
His voice brings her back to reality no this can't happen. She pushes him away slightly.
"Just forget everything Maan. I am engaged and like I said before our worlds cannot be united. Please don't try to contact me again. Good bye"
She ran away from him leaving Maan standing there alone in pain. There worlds are seperate, both are opposite but does that mean their worlds cannot be united?
