I accept the fact that karthik din't hug Susan ,only Susan hugged karthik nu...but why does karthik give false hope to Susan ...as if is caring for her a lot...

Not liking how karthiks character is shaping up, i dont blame susan at al, who asked him to compliment susan so much , agreed she helped him out in his crisis, but it was bit OTT to go and talk to her tat way, had susan hugged him in her room would he react in a guilty way when she hugged him?!
