And then, the meteor shower happened and Zoe fell into Asad's arms - the creatives sealed their destiny that very day - marking them as soulmates and using divine intervention to grant their wishes.
This is the reason that when Dilshad put Asad once again in the spotlight and a tight spot about his feelings for Zoe , he closed his eyes and the only flashback he remembered was of Zoe in his arms on the night of the meteor shower. Yes, he knows the answer - Zoe is his soulmate and his destiny and whatever Zoe had wished him that night came true- he fell in love with a woman who was nowhere close to his definition of tehzeebe-aafta. That is why the following lines come in..." We are opposites.Poles apart. Different backgrounds. Different upbringing. We are never gonna arrive on the same middle ground on anything. When ever i feel i have begun to know her , she does a thrilling volte face... i don't know..."
At that moment, Zoe comes in with a 'But I know...' - yes, logically and scriptwise,completely unrelated to what Asad is talking about , but in the literary sense she comes in as the 'executor' and 'saviour' to Asad's lost thoughts. Symbolizing that she is the strength and cement of this relationship while Asad maybe the passion and the intensity.
There is no point in asking Asad the same thing again and again, putting him on an examination bench with the oft-asked - Kya tum Zoya se pyaar karte ho? Kya tum Zoya se Nikhaah karnaa chaahte ho?... USELESS. To say 'yes' , he has to cross that bridge which if crossed will become a point of no return. He is a pressure cooker which is steaming but he won't let the whistle go off - if he does, that means he will forever be attached to Zoe and she to him. In love, misery, suffering - TOGETHER. And that , as per him, will bring Zoe nothing but devastation.
Asad knew the answer to what Dilshad asked and that is why the meteor shower FB was inserted. He has always known it - but it is better to deny the truth and hide behind flimsy reasons. Nobody wants to face an avalanche. And here, the problem is that Asad has already done a flashforward and this future memory of his is making him and Zoe miserable.
Dilshad. leave it to destiny and if this love is real enough, then, no matter how many BCAs , no matter how many fights and fears of Asad and Zoe , Nikaah or no Nikaah at all- Asad and Zoe will always be AsYa. Irrespective of what Asad thinks or fears, its a written thing that his and Zoe's story is one - no matter how sad or how happy.
Zoe loves Asad, he is her weak spot but she is not blind in his love. Yes, his uproars break her heart but she always gets back at him. And i loved how she marched into his room and handed him the i-Pad with such honour. The little improvement that we have seen in Asad has only been because Zoe has balanced affection with aggression.
Abb kya kiyaa jaa sakta hai. Yahee toh maanga tha na ek-doosre ke liye meteor shower ke din? Isliye Asad, Zoe aapka diyaa koi hukum nahiin maanti. Aur Zoe, Asad hamesha aapka dimaag durust karne mein lagge rehte hain.
