Taani's P.O.V.
I throw my clothes on the floor, one by one in frustration of not being able to find anything to wear. Ugh, why do clothes have to be such a pain? I walk over to my dresser and open the drawers to look for more clothes. My eyes land on my pink strapless dress and I unknowingly smile in victory.
Happy with my clothes, I skip to my bathroom to do my make-up and hair. Minimal make-up and straight hair end up being my choice for the night. I walk back into my room and put on my dress.
Pulling my hair to one side, I reach towards my back and zip up my dress. It reaches before the zipper gets stuck. I curse and try to tug the zipper, but it refuses to budge.
"Rey" I shout, as I see him walk him by my room through the slight crack between my door and the wall. He retreats his steps back and peak into my room. "What?" His tone is so harsh, it confuses me.
Ignoring the ruggedness in his voice, I continue. "Can you help me? My zipper is stuck." He looks at me for a second before he starts walking towards me.
I don't know why, but my heart quickens its pace by a little. I shiver and close my eyes as his cold hands touch my back.
I hear the zipper, zip up and footsteps. When I open my eyes, he's nowhere to be seen.
What the hell? I thought everything was okay now, what happened to him. Fine then, if he's going to ignore me, I'll ignore him.
Buzz, I hear my phone buzz indicating there was a new text
Udii: I'm here. Come outside babe. xx
I grab my wallet and walk downstairs. Before I leave the house, I turn around and shout. "Dad, I'm going."
"Okay Taani, be back my 12" Dad shouts back.
I run up to Uday and hug him.
"Hi Uday"
"Hey sweetheart. C'mon let's go, we can't be late."
He opens the door for me and I get inside his car. After about 30 minutes of driving, he stops at the side of a road. I look at him in confusion.
"We're going to have our date on the side of a road?"
Uday bursts out laughing. "No Taani," He reaches into his pocket, pulls out a blindfold and puts it around my eyes.
"What are you doing?"
"Taking you somewhere special. Don't worry, we're almost there."
I smile and nod my head. What seems like hours, go by and finally the car stops. I hear the door open and feel Uday pick me up in his arms.
"Where are you taking me?
"Just wait and watch."
Uday puts me down and then disappears. I un-wrap the cloth from around my eyes. My nerves are all over the place right now. Everything is black and there is a pin drop silence. I hear the sound of a speaker come on and then Uday's voice booms.
"Hi Taani, You're probably wondering what's happening. Well, you're going to find out really soon. But until then, I just want to tell you that you're an amazing, beautiful, nice, sweet and perfect girl. I don't know when and I don't know how, but somewhere I fell for you. You make me so happy and can always make me laugh. And I wouldn't trade you for anything in the world. So now that we've been together for 5 years, I think it's time to pop the question, so Taani Skekhwat, will you do me a big favor and officially become Taani Malhotra?"
A huge spotlight shines on Uday and I feel tear brimming at the edge of my eyes. I get and run straight into his arms.
"Yes, Yes, Yes."
He pulls away from the hug and kisses my forehead. "I love you Taani."
"I love you too Uday."
Uday and I spend the rest of the night together. I feel so ecstatic, that it's hard to put my feelings into words. Finally, I and my prince charming are getting married. Uday drops me home and I run inside to share the good news with my dad.
I trip my way up the stairs, trying to hold onto my dress. Suddenly, I crash into a hard tuff body. My hands go in the air and I probably look like a maniac waving them. I close my eyes in fear.
Great, yup. I'm just got proposed too and I'm going to die now. I peep one eyes open when I don't feel myself collide with the floor.
I see Rey staring at me, and once again, it's that intense gaze. I feel a dark blush paint itself over my cheeks.
After a few moments, I shake out of the trance and pull myself up.
"uh, hi" I say nervously. "Hey" Rey replies but there is something different about his tone. It's has soft edge to it.
"Where were you?" he asks.
The events from tonight come rushing to my head and I smile brightly.
"OMG REY YOU KNOW? TONIGHT WAS THE BEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE." I say, waving my hands in the air to illustrate just how happy I was.
He smiles a little and I can't help but automatically think how cute he looks. "Why what happen?"
"UDAY PROPOSED" I scream. I hold his hands and jump up and down in my place. I stop after a while and when I look up at him, he's not smiling.
Instead, he has a cold hard face on. Slipping his hands out of mine, as if I had some disease, he says "Congratulations." And walks away, leaving me confused
I decide not to worry about it right now. I run to my dad's room and then bhai's room to tell them the good news. They both congratulate me and tell me that tomorrow we're going to go shopping.
I take a shower and slip into my bed. Before I go to bed, I check my phone and see a text message from Uday.
Udii: Are you asleep yet? If not, I just want to tell you that our engagement is in 2 days. Goodnight xx
Me: 2 days? Why so fast? Xx
Udii: Because I want to make you mine as soon as possible. :*
I blush and quickly reply before turning off my light to go to sleep.
Me: Aw, love you, and goodnight! Xx
The next morning I wake up extremely happy, not being able to wait to go shopping today. I get ready and go to bhai's room. I jump on his bed and start shaking him.
"Bhai wake up, we have to go shopping today." I saw loudly in his ear.
"Taani, shuttup. Let me sleep." His hand reaches out in the air and waved around until it finds my face and he pushes me away.
I quietly slip under and cover and start tickling him.
"Time to wake up Swayuuu. Wakey Wakey." I laugh as I see him squirm in his place. Bhai finally jumps out of bed, glares at me and marches into his bathroom. I laugh and yell behind him.
"You have 10 minutes."
"BLAHHH" I hear him yell from inside. I shake my head at his childishness and walk out of the room.
Finally, after ages he comes out of the washroom and we go shopping. I try on many different langhas and suits but just can't seem to find the perfect one. Finally, I reach a beautiful baby pink langha and for some reason, it reminds me of the blush that creeps onto my cheeks every time Rey is near.
I ignore the thought and try it on.
"How is it bhai?" I ask.
"Perfect, just like the other 30 you tried on." I pout when I see him busy on his phone.
"You didn't even look. Are you that busy with Sharon that you don't even have time for your little sister?" I blink my eyes a few times so a fake tears start to emerge in my eyes.
Swayam looks up at me and I see the guilt in his eyes. I bit my lip in order to prevent myself from laughing. He walks up and hugs me.
"Of course not, you look beautiful; I think this is my favourite one on you." He smiles at me.
"Well, this is the one." He nods and leaves to the counter to go pay. I change back into my normal clothes and join him at the counter. We go back to the house and I quickly show dad my dress, before running into my room and going to sleep.
I slip into my bed when I hear the door across the hall creak. To think about it, I haven't seen Rey all day. Where has he been? Questions run through my mind but I push them aside.
I close my eyes and think of tomorrow. Tomorrow was going to be the best day of my life.. Or at least I thought. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ok before, you guys yell at me. Yes I know, this chapter is late and total bakwaas. but this chapter is just a filler. Trust me when I say that you guys are going to love the next chapter.
