Have I heard it correctly? Have i?
Dipali said" dekhte hain ye naya hero kitni jaldi purane hero ki chutti karta hai." Frankly, this is what I had been waiting to hear for so long. Since the day he entered,I have found this character to be inherently strong, ,a stickler for rules, some one easy to remember and hard to forget. His approach towards life and its little miseries sometimes took me by surprise and not to say that initially I was a bit uncomfortable looking at this no nonsense attitude. But slowly his layered character kept opening up and what was revealed was, well.pure bliss.
And I always wondered why should this man not occupy the centre stage and today,it was Dipali who echoed my thoughts.
Sultan with his thoughtful gestures, carefully chosen words and that smile..so subtle with a touch of sadness it used to make you cry out with unshed tears. For me this character is a touch of the cool breeze that blows on a hot, rainy evening, that touches you yet does not touch you.
And the dupatta left lying on the road only to be picked up by him to be kept in safe custody, for the lady who brought about subtle changes in him. Changes for the better, because only in her company he found out about himself, what he is and what he can become. He learnt how to deal with a kid and also learnt how to deal with the little demons from the past that came to haunt him in the silence of the night.
And the dupatta was meant to be kept under his care for it belonged to a lady who is dealing with her demons and she needs all protection, love and care that she can get. Not because she is in need of these, but, because she deserves it. And her true worth can only be understood and valued by this man,who got the dupatta. I have always felt,it is good to have qualities because of which people admire you, but, to understand that quality and get a hand to nurture it,only people with luck get it. She is lucky because he understands her qualities and has the capability to nurture it too.
Lastly, it was that moment which you would like to capture in a bottle, just like a scent, so that whenever you wish ,you can open the bottle and relive the moment(Rebecca-du Maurier).
Today's dupatta scene reminded me of these words.
