Someone else in these pages told me that the Lakshmi & Saraswati shown in Durga puja were just Ma Durga's daughters, and not the consorts of Vishnu & Brahma. I was always curious about where that tradition originated

I am a Bengali n I know about ds local myth .. we worship Maa durga with Laxmi, Saraswati, Ganesh n Kartik

anyway der is some wrong info in ds article .. according to Bengali belief .. Himalaya n Menoka was Parvati/Uma's father .. Daksha was Sati's father n Ganesh is eldest among Maa Durga's children

the concept of Sati Pith is d biggest thing here .. famous Kali temple of Kalighat is believed to have Maa's Anamika [pinki finger] here

yes dats y babnana tree is placed beside Ganesha during Durga Puja .. but in reality Banana is one of pure trees .. so it used to be placed in Puja .. n ds myth reformed eventually😆
