The name Dilshaad means happy heart/cheerful one in Persian. Is it an irony or a sign that her parents named her Dilshaad? Fate played many cruel jokes on her but she refused to bow down and smiles and spreads smiles.
Dilshaad as a woman:
Once she had everything. She found love of her life. She had a wonderful son. She had dreams of a better future. And, one day everything was taken away. How much would it have hurt to be betrayed by the person whom you loved the most? It could have turned her into a very bitter person, one who lost faith in love. But, she could not stop loving her husband who was long gone, and yet she moved on and built a life for herself and her children.
I am sure she is one of those who believe, "It is lucky to have loved and lost than not loved at all."
In a society that looks down upon a divorced/separated woman, calls her 'chhodi hui aurat', Dilshaad has lived with head held high with grace, dignity and courage. Not only she raised two children as a single mother, she raised them with lot of love. She protected them from harsh world as much as she could. Even if her love failed, she wanted her children to find love.
She is blessed with a heart too big for her own good. Not only she hasn't let pains of life overpower her, she can't even think ill of the woman and her children who snatched everything that was hers.
Dilshaad as a mother:
Biggest role she has played in her life is that of a mother and has raised children who are beautiful inside and outside.
Asad was old enough to understand things going around him, and given his basic serous nature, he turned bitter, aloof and detached even if Dilshaad would have tried to stop it happening. But, wasn't it Dilshaad that allowed other woman's son in her house and let the natural bonding between Asad and Ayaan grow which could have resulted in Asad being not so bitter that he forgot to love? Najma was too young and is a happy-go-lucky person by nature, but again, her turning into a cute, adorable, fun-loving person must be result of an as much normal childhood as possible provided by Dilshaad.
Dilshaad who remains quiet when the world raises fingers on her, fights back if her children are attacked. She becomes a lioness to protect them.
If you wonder why there aren't many men like Asad. It is because there aren't many women like Dilshaad. Sons like Asad aren't born to ordinary women. Only a lioness can give birth to a lion.
Her motherly love is not only for her own children. That's why when a motherless girl - Zoya walked in her home as a guest, she also walked in her heart and created an instant connection. In future, when Zoya will become her daughter-in-law, they are going to be the best mother-daughter-in-law pair.
Her actions may sometimes feel questionable. Her blind faith in Rashid, her going against her own son, etc. but she is also a human and allowed to make what we may see as mistakes but she may find them right.
