| They have been labelled the perfect performers. Each week Tanaaz and Bakthyaar have been engaging new ideas and tactics to wow the judges. This time, the couple danced to the tunes of Kambakht Ishq using innovative props. However, what became the talk of the evening was a goof- up during their act. A source reveals, "There was a lag between their performance and the music being played in the background. Their steps were not in synch with the song and it didn't look the way they wanted it to be." After the performance got over, the couple explained to the judges what went wrong and demanded a retake. "They came up with their version, but the judges weren't buying that. When they asked for a retake, the judges refused in accordance with the rules." Scoring high Even though there was a glitch, the couple got a score of 27 for their act. When contacted, Tanaaz confirms the incident and says, "Yes, we had some technical difficulty in our dance. The music being played was quite slow, hence Bakhtyaar was trying to speed up his dance and match his steps with mine. Towards the end, we spoke to the judges about the problem with the sound, but we weren't allowed a retake." Stating the judges gave them the benefit of the doubt, she adds, "They, too, realised what had happened and lauded our efforts. In fact, after seeing the song we chose they thought we would break the stage! But we chose not to overdo anything." Saying the semi-finals are to be taken seriously, Tanaaz says, "There is no space for errors or goof-ups. We have to prove ourselves." https://www.mid-day.com/hitlist/2006/december/147740.htm |
