Nina's holiday snaps with Julianne Hough

Nina Dobrev has left her busy work life on the set of Vampire Diaires (and boyfriend Ian Somerhalder) behind to enjoy a gils holiday in Miami with best mate Julianne Hough, with the pair spotted sunning themselves in the Florida heat.

Just when we thought Vampire Diaries lovers Nina and Ian were preparing for a romantic holiday together Nina has ditched her man for a girly break. The latest series of Vampire Diaries has just wrapped filming leaving Nina and Ian with some well deserved time off.

Following Ian's tweet to his followers earlier this week announcing his travel plans, Nina, who plays Elena on the hot show also took to the social networking site to inform her fans of her travel plans, tweeting "Packinggg hell. Warm weather and semi cold weather. I'll be up all night..."

It sounded like Nina could be joining her man on what sounds like a mammoth worldwide trip but the actress clarified her plans yesterday by revealing she's on holiday with her friend Julianne in Miami.

Nina tweeted a pic of her holiday, posing with Julianne and her other friend stylist, Riawna Capri. The trio donned their sunnies for the photo with Julianne and Nina sporting matching hates as they posed for the camera. The Vampire Diaries star alluded to her hectic work life in the caption for the pic, writing "10 months of shooting...Time to play! Fun in the sun with my girls @juliannahough and @RiawnaCapri :)"

Julianne followed suit, also posting a photo of her holida which shows her and NIna striking a pose and pouting into the lens, writing "Friday fun day...Do we look like we're having fun?"

Well yes you do!

The friends' time in the sun could have been ruined slightly by the presence of a pack of paps though with Nina and Julianne spotted hiding under beach umbrellas as the pesky photographers tried to snap a shot of them on Miami beach...
