Season Finale spoiler : Taking final stand

Earlier today The CW released some teasers for upcoming May episodes for its shows, including Supernatural. But it turns out that the synopsis for the season 8 finale - titled "Sacrifice" - wasn't complete. The network has now released the full synopsis for the episode and it reveals quite a bit more:

"WHAT MUST SAM, DEAN AND CASTIEL SACRIFICE TO FOREVER SEAL HELL? ' With Crowley (guest star Mark Sheppard) poised to undo all the good they've ever done as hunters, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) find themselves cornered. But with Kevin's (guest star Osric Chau) help, the Winchester brothers bound into one last play against The Demon King. Metatron (guest star Curtis Armstrong) initiates a plan with Castiel (Misha Collins) to take on Naomi (guest star Amanda Tapping) and the bureaucracy of Heaven. Alaina Huffman and Kim Rhodes also guest star. Phil Sgriccia directed the episode written by Jeremy Carver."

Alaina Huffman, of course, played the demon Abbadon in the season 8 episode "As Time Goes By", which introduced us to the Winchesters boys' paternal grandfather, Henry Winchester, and the Men of Letters legacy. This is an interesting development considering the state we last saw the demon in (trapped inside her host body and cut up in small pieces), not to mention we have to speculate the reason for her return. Will the Men of Letters mythology tie into the Demon Tablet trials? Will Crowley piece back together this powerful demon in order to gain an ally in the fight against the Winchesters?

As for Kim Rhodes, she's had the recurring role of Sheriff Jody Mills for a few years now and it will be very interesting to see the circumstances under which she returns. She hasn't been seen on the show since the season 7 episode "Time After Time".
