Smita,😊
Here is the interpretation to Section 6 of Part 19.
When the flimflam pair, saw Khushi in the lounge, Pam asked her partner in crime, what might have Lisa's talked with her? Sim with a growing malicious smile told her that she had no idea but could bet her last cent on Lisa the witch to have penetrated deep with her fangs and drawn the blood. Chamkili was ashen-faced after the restroom interaction. Pam bobbed her head agreeing with her but sported a frown and said but even then she had come over here. She had thought that the prey would have flown far away with the scare she got? Still aspiring to be Mrs. Arnav Singh Raizada is it? Well, well, we will give her a first hand dose of being Mrs. Arnav Singh Raizada. Sim the other half of the flimflam pair said in a grating voice, Poor Chamkili! Pam asked Sim, to follow her lead, while still on lookout for ASR. Sim nodded with a nervous look.
Pam in a sweet dulcet voice that she could muster asked Khushi, was she there to meet ASR, Chamkili? Khushi who was engrossed in her own thoughts was startled, and then giving a watery smile said yes. Sim informed her in a tone oozing with false sympathy that he was in a meeting and it would take sometime. She would have to wait! Khushi with a cautious smile told her that would be fine by her. Pam started to apologize saying Chamkili that they were sorry, making Khushi look up in surprise. In a hesitant voice Pam told her that on the day of Lisa's photoshoot and tapered off. Sim continued it and asked to be forgiven. Seeing Khushi frown, Pam continued with a contrite look and said that it was due to their carelessness that the juice had fallen on the furcoat and she, Chamkili had to bear the brunt of Lisa's anger. Khushi mumbled that it was alright. Sim took up saying that they were scared of losing their jobs and Khushi just nodded to indicate that she understood. Pam asked her, knowing Lisa's bad temper and bitchiness could anyone be blamed for trying to get out of the war-path? Khushi gave them a ghost of a smile. Sim said her screetch and did a pseudo shudder to emphasize her point. Pam added to it saying that moreover ASR always heeded her words. She, Lisa had a way with men, making them eat out of her hands. They follow her like lambs and ASR was not an exception too. She asked Sim as though recalling a stashed away memory, does she remember the time Lisa raised a ruckus, when ASR was a tad late? Sim bobbed her head vigorously saying that, it was unbelievable Chamkili. It was the time when ASR and Lisa were going away to his farmhouse for the weekend and ASR was late to pick her up. He was held up in the meeting over here and she came furious spitting fire. It was a dragon avatar. She had shouted at everyone and made such a nuisance of herself that it had made ASR leave his meeting just to pacify the witch. Khushi was silent with shock and grief and sat still in her chair. Pam prompted to Sim about the happenings when ASR sent a big bouquet of red roses to her? Sim continued to say that Chamkili you wouldn't believe this! She was so happy that to get the bouquet, that she came with it to the office, threw out the managers ASR was conversing with and gave him a hug and kissed him in his cabin! Khushi who was looking at her tightly locked fingers willed herself not to tremble. With a sigh and a hand placed on her heart Pam told that she was unfortunate enough to knock on the door while they were smooching and the way Lisa had shouted at her for interrupting, it still gave her nightmares.
Khushi was unable to sit there any longer and when she tried to move, Aman came over inadvertently, as a knight for a damsel in distress. He told her that he was sorry that the meeting would take another hour or more.He asked whether she needed to let him know that she was waiting? She managed to reply that she was planning to go home as it was getting quite late. Seeing Aman who had come like a fog horn to Khushi shrouded with the mist, Pam and Sim vanished like mist in the sunlight. Aman escorted Khushi to the door and asked whether he could arrange for a car to take her home? She told him that his thoughts were very much appreciated but she has a rickshaw waiting for her. Khushi went home grateful for the darkness that hid her waterworks, her shivering body both that were going on unabated, and Happyji's undemanding company. She knew that she needed to talk to Arnavji. There was no other way out but that and she needed to compose herself a little first.
Khushi walked into her house and was greeted by the orotund voice of Buaji that was loud, clear and booming that said, Here comes Sanka Devi! Why did it take so long to come from the temple? Was she planning to elope with the Sant?
Buaji who was in a jovial mood teased her asking Titaliyaa, whether he was handsome. Was he handsome enough to give Arnav Babua a run for his money? Khushi gave her a watery smile. Buaji continued to say that at least she had returned now. Arnav Bitwa had called earlier to say that he would be coming over later that night after his meeting. He would come over for certain.
Khushi breathed a sigh of relief and a lot needed to be cleared. Her room would give them all the privacy needed to talk openly. Khushi told her Buaji that she was going to freshen up and then rest for a while as she has a slight headache. If Arnavji arrives, to kindly send him to her room. Once freshened and donning her home wear of white suit, Khushi opened her box, where she had stored her paraphernalia. In it was an album with family photos, school photos, pictures of Salman Khan and other stars. She opened it and dried petals of the red roses stared at her. It was the remenants of the big bouquet Arnavji had sent her along with the card. Khushi blinked away and shut it and keeping it in the box stashed the box itself, away from her line of vision.
Arnav left the conference hall with long strides to his cabin. He was thinking of just collecting his coat and his laptop when Aman with a smile told him that Khushiji had come to see him while he was in a meeting. Arnav stared at him in surprise while his heart leapt in anticipation. He was furious at Aman for not informing him and bit out asking why didn't he call him even though it was a rule in his office that nothing and no one should disturb ASR while he was in a meeting. Any employee who forgot the rule would be doing so at his own risk and find himself relieved of his services immediately. Aman with a smile told him that he had offered to Khushiji to do so knowing that he wouldn't have minded. But Khushiji said she would wait. Arnav, with an easy stride, went to the glass wall to get a glimpse of waiting Khushi, and asked Aman where was she? Aman again smiled at him and said that she had waited for a long time and then went home. Arnav who was about to blast Aman held back his tongue thinking she would be at home and he could spend time with her without any disturbance which was in all likelihood a deterrent factor in his office. With a nod at Aman, he walked out in a jiffy.
Khushi heard the arrival of Arnav by the screeth of the tyres of his car. She realized that he would be coming inside any moment. She needed to talk to him, tell him the truth and listen to what he had to say. That needed to be done without getting overly emotional that would cloud her rational thinking. She told herself of not shedding tears anymore. The time for crying was over. It was the time to seek answers and findout if there was a grain of truth in Lisaji's talk or that of the flimflam pair, Pamji and Simji. She heard low voices coming out of the hall. She felt her throat parched, her heart threatening to race out of her ribcage, her palms sweat. She knew she had to be dignified. Behave true to her age and really needed to know if their marriage stood a chance and whether they had a future together. It was a matter of survival for her. She would runaway no more.
Arnav who entered the room told Khushi that Aman had informed him that Khushi had waited for him in the evening. Khushi's eyes took in Arnav face and found that he looked exhausted, with grooves of weariness etched around his mouth and a frown on his forehead. He strode into the room unable to stay away from her. Pulling her out of the cot he engulfed her in his embrace and whispered in her ear saying, not to keep him at a distance He is just not able to take it. All the talk that she had given to herself of how to behave proved to be a futile exercise. Tears started to stream out and took the path down her cheeks. She hugged him tight and sobbed her heart out. She whispered Arnavji, in between her sobs and he murmured Khushi, don't cry Khushi, rubbing her back to soothe her. Khushi found herself in the heart of uncontrollable sobs and buried her face in the crook of his neck. Arnav feeling his heart ache, seeing her sob so, told her not to cry so much, as she might fall sick and asked her what was the reason for her to cry her heart out like this?
This update I am going to term as SENSE AND SENSIBILITY. Yes! Taken right out of Jane Austen's classic by that name!
Why have I done so?
We'll here is my explanation.
Sense
refers to her/his
logical personality, she represses her/his emotions and does the proper thing.
Sensibility means that she/he has a certain personality
trait that rules everything else, she/he
does follow her/his emotions because that is her /his sensibility.
"Know your own happiness. You want nothing but patience- or give it a more fascinating name, call it hope"
~ Jane Austen, Sense and Sensibility
It begins with the assault by the flimflam duo. Their calculated barbs find their mark and hurt Khushi. They embellish things and try to make her squirm with what she hears. They succeed in doing so but her sensibility prevails and makes her decide that AR Designs is not the place to meet Arnav Singh Raizada and when she meets him she needs to be in control of her emotions especially tears as they have the tendency to cloud her judgement.
"Sometimes one is guided by what they say of themselves, and very frequently by what other people say of them, without giving oneself time to deliberate and judge ~Elinor Dashwood"
~ Jane Austen, Sense and Sensibility
When she reaches home she realizes that Arnavji would be coming to meet her. So she has to compose herself quickly. Her sense prevails and does the right thing. She asks her family to send him to her room as that would give them privacy to talk with open heart. Meanwhile she says she would freshen up and rest a while. That's sense prevailing.
"If I could but know his heart, everything would become easy"
~ Jane Austen, Sense and Sensibility
When Arnav hears that Khushi had come to his office his sensibility makes him shout at Aman why wasn't he informed. But when informed that it was Khushiji's choice not to disturb and had planned to wait he calms down and asks where was she? When answered that she had left home though Arnav was on the verge of lashing out at Aman his sense prevailed and it dawned on him that they would have been disturbed every few minutes by work issues, if he met her at his office.
"That is what I like; that is what a young man ought to be. Whatever be his pursuits, his eagerness in them should know no moderation, and leave him no sense of fatigue"
~ Jane Austen, Sense and Sensibility
When Arnav reached GH Khushi pepped herself with self talk as to behave with dignity without shedding tears as she needed to resolve a lot of issues. This was her sense working on her. But when she met him her sensibility overtook her and she became a ball of tears ensconced in his arms. This alerted his senses and made his sensibility prevail by soothing her over and over again.
"To wish was to hope, and to hope was to expect"
~ Jane Austen, Sense and Sensibility
That's why it is SENSE and SENSIBILITY.
That's it from me. Hope you enjoy it.
pretty excited for the res wa ji
