Aisha replied back "good night SameerâŚ"
That "Sameer" from her couldn't have sounded better! It somehow seemed to be a start to break the ice barriers that stood between themâŚ.perhaps barriers of an official formal relationship they shared!
She walked into the building bidding him bye once moreâŚ.He kept looking at her till she was out of his vision and then resumed his driveâŚ..
He didn't know why he felt so different todayâŚ.and today, for the first time in his life, he seemed to think seriously about a partner with whom he could share his whole lifeâŚ..and his heart kept whispering back to his mindâŚ."isn't it her for whom you had been waiting for so long?"

Next few days breezed awayâŚ.
Though there were initial difficulties, Aisha had made herself get to call him Sameer while they were together out of office âŚâŚ
The barriers due to the formal relationship between them was slowly melting away with each such errand togetherâŚbut still there were hiccups in opening up completely which was mostly due to the strong aura and personality that both the officers adornedâŚ.
The image that both had formed within themselves about the other was so powerful that they couldn't erase it away easily even though they wished for itâŚ.
It had also become an unsaid routine that he would drop her back homeâŚ.at times, Shree and Liza also tagged along but they kept their trespassing minimalâŚthey were the only ones from the team who were silent witnesses to this budding friendship or like Liza calls it a budding breezy romance!

However subtle be it, someone else wasn't failing to notice this tooâŚ..
Anything missing his sharp eyes was next to impossibleâŚ..
During the case briefings and discussions, Arjun had caught Rathod glancing at Aisha many a timesâŚ.
Once, while on a discussionâŚ.
Arjun had stated his views and as always turned to Rathod "humein uss pe bhi nazar rakhna hoga Rathod!"
That's when he saw his chief, his lost friend in a dreamy lost state gazing at their female cop for a long moment while she was immersed into the proceedings of the case!!
The sight actually made him chuckle but he controlled himself and looked away raising his eyebrows wondering "yeh chakkar kya hai?"
But he never made it evident or voiced it out that he knew that something special was brewing between them!
That happened a few more of timesâŚ..Then one day, Aisha's tongue slipped and she referred to her chief as "Sameer" instead of her usual "sir"âŚ..But both Aisha and Sameer were oblivious to the slip!
None in the room except the hot cop's sharp ears had grasped it bang onâŚ..
Arjun was plain amused when Sameer also responded to her without showing any kind of surprise at her changed way of addressing him which could only mean that he was accustomed to her calling him like that alreadyâŚ..
In no time, he had added 1 and 1 as 2âŚ.
Arjun always had the ability to look beyond the obviousâŚ.All these instances made him notice Sameer's growing closeness to AishaâŚ.He also was quick to realize that it wasn't just plain friendship but was heading towards something more specialâŚ..
In fact he had sensed this orientation from Sam's side long before when he had seen his ever balanced stable chief screaming out "heyyy usse choohna matth.." to the poacher when he had thought of hurting AishaâŚ.
Arjun had seen something more than just concern for his team member in those eyes and the voice!
Arjun was more than happy for his lost friend but yes never showed it out onceâŚ.he was happy that his ever single friend would now have someone with whom he could share his life and all the colors of the life! Arjun couldn't help thinking about the good old timesâŚ.well he always went back down the memory lane when his best friend was always with him but never once exhibited his true thoughts before anyoneâŚ.he was reminded of how girls used flock behind Sam and Sam being Sam used to escape all their prying clutches!
Never once had he dated or got involved with a girl beforeâŚ.He had never once felt that kind of attraction towards a girlâŚ..
Arjun couldn't help appreciating his choice for a life partnerâŚ.Aisha was just perfect for himâŚ.they would make an ideal couple!
But Arjun knew his Sam real wellâŚHe was a man of very few wordsâŚ..even love wouldn't change that side of himâŚshy he was and would ever be in matters of loveâŚ..He would never be able to say his true feelings to his lady love if he wasn't pushed a bit!
To test waters, Arjun locked his horns with the chief one nightâŚ..Casually when the team was being split for the different tasks to be done, Arjun snapped Rathod and took the leadâŚ"Aisha, tum mere saath chaloâŚ"
It was a bit dangerous spooky place that Arjun had to go looking for a clue and so, as Arjun had expected, Rathod immediately opposed to the whole ideaâŚ."Nahi Rawte, tum Chotu ko saath le jaao...Aisha aur main uss club owner ke ghar jaakhar pooch taach karengeâŚ."
Arjun immediately refused "Rathod, humein uss dance bar pe zyaadha focus karna chahiyeâŚ..aur Aisha toh aise jagah se waaqif haiâŚ.isiliye usske wahaan jaana case ke liye zyaadha accha hogaâŚ..samjhe ya samjhaavum?"
[He was meaning that a girl could get out clues from the suspected people there easily]
Rathod: [annoyed by his logic] tum mujhe matth samjhaavo RawteâŚ.I am the chief here and I decide thingsâŚ..aise khatarnaak jagah pe Aisha ko tumaare saat bhejnaâŚâŚnahiâŚyeh risk main nahi le sakthaâŚ.
Arjun let a sarcastic grin meaning "I knew it" at that and turned away as he already knew that this would be the response from his chiefâŚ.
He just spoke up "seedhe seedhe apne mann ke baath kyun nahi kehthe Rathod??" [he added after a pause] "yeh kyun nahi kehthe ke tumhe apne team par bharosa nahi hai!"
The first part had multiple meanings or rather taunts to Sameer's hesitance to speak his mind to AishaâŚ..
Sameer glared at Arjun for what he said when Arjun pretended to ignore him and added "teek haiâŚ.chalo Chotu"
Saying that, he stormed out of the office with Chotu tagging alongâŚ.
Aisha stood there perplexed with the strong verbal and even stronger war of glares between her senior officersâŚ.
Rathod snapped out from his thoughts about what had just happened and turned to Aisha "let's go!"

Later that night, as they drove along to Aisha's place, she broached the topic which she had literally postponed to this time when they were out of the case investigationâŚ..
Sameer appeared disturbed and was unusually quiet tooâŚ.Aisha cleared her throat to grab his attentionâŚ
He sensed that she wanted to say something and enquired "tumhe kuch kehna hai Aisha?"
Aisha nodded "haanâŚ.kuch hai"
Sameer mellowed down and spoke up "boloâŚ"
Aisha replied instantly "mujhe lagtha hai ke Arjun sir ne teek kaha tha"
She added when he glanced at her once "matlab mujhe unnke saath uss bar meinâŚ"
Sameer cut short her words "Aisha, main tumhe wahaan nahi bhej saktha thaâŚ.it was quite a risky place and you know that"
Aisha replied "but Sameer, its part of my jobâŚ..risks toh hoga hiâŚ.I cant keep hiding away from that!"
Sameer: haan risks hoga parr jab tak possible hai, I want to keep you safe from it AishaâŚ.
When Aisha continued to argue again, Rathod flared up suddenly "Why don't you understand Aisha? I cant risk anything when it concerns youâŚ"
He stopped the SUV suddenly to the side when he said thatâŚ..she was a bit terrified seeing him so angry and she voiced in the impulse "sirâŚ.aap aise kyunâŚ."
He turned to her sideâŚit was time he told her what his true feelings wereâŚ.it was now or never perhapsâŚ.
He spoke up immediately in the same or even more annoyed tone,
"kyun ki I love you dammit!"
