They got to the pre-school in sometime and headed inside to meet Zaaine. They held hands as they looked for Zaaine inside. They sneaked through the door looking inside the classroom trying to find Zaaine. He was sitting at a table with a few other boys who looked his age.
Viren and Jeevika looked at each other happy to see that at least he was talking to others. They started walking towards him when Zaaine saw them before. He got up and quickly ran to Jeevika. Jeevika bent down next to Zaaine who engulfed his mother into a hug.
z - "Mommy you no say bye to me"
j - "I'm sorry I thought you were distracted looking at the puzzle so I left"
z - Don't leave me mommy" he said hugging her again.
j - "Why Zaaine? what happened?"
z - "Me cry because you and daa no say bye"
Viren picked him up and asked "Why would you cry Zaaine?"
z - "Me love you Daa"
v - "I love you too"
j - "Come on, lets leave now. Zaaine go grab your stuff"
Zaaine left Viren and went to go gather his lunchbox and his new backpack while Viren and Jeevika were talking to the teachers there who told them that Zaaine hadn't eaten lunch properly today. But he was getting along well with the other kids, which made them breathe a sigh of relief. They walked out signing Zaaine out and then went to the car.
z - "Daa me hungry. You feed me please"
v - "Yeah, lets get you buckled up first"
z - "Me sleepy too Daa"
v - "Okay you can sleep once you get home" he said kissing his cheek and then closing the door.
Jeevika sat in the front with Viren driving in the seat next to hers.
v - "What time do you need to get back to the hospital?"
j - "I have two hours"
v - "Do you want me to drop you so you can rest or do you want to take Zaaine out to eat?"
j - "Let's go take him out. Anyways I won't see him till tomorrow night now"
They both looked around to see Zaaine's eyes shutting. His hair was coming in his face due to the wind, so Viren closed the window. His head was leaning on the side of the car seat, and he was almost asleep. Both Viren and Jeevika were just smiling looking at him tired after his first day of school. Pretty soon they drove away. Viren decided to go to a nearby cafe so they could work on their laptops and plan their trip as well as make Zaaine eat lunch. As they reached they got out the car andJeevika picked up Zaaine was too asleep to wake up. He was asleep on Jeevika's shoulder as they the three of them walked in.
v - "I'll go get him something you find a table. Do you want anything?"
j - "Coffee please"
v - "You and your coffee addiction" he said shaking his head and smiling.
Jeevika smiled and walked away.She found a cozy booth and was sitting on one side trying to wake Zaaine up.
j - "Zaaine, wake up"
He rubbed his eyes a little and leaned his head over on his mom. He spread his arms across her stomach side-hugging her and she engulfed him too. He moved from his seat right next to Jeevika and sat on her lap hugging her. They both were smiling, even though Zaaine's eyes were half-closed. Viren came back bringing two coffees and some food.
v - "Zaaine is a sleepyhead"
z - "NOOO. Daa me hungry"
v - "Okay sit on your seat and here's your plate"
z - "No, sit here with mommy"
v - "Zaaine we have to do some work"
z - "What work daa?"
v - "We were going to take you to see snow. Do you want to go to New York?"
z - "Snow? Me make snowman like my book? Snowman in Christmas"
v - "Yeah, like your book"
z - "Okay me move"
v - "Thank You" he said smiling
z - "Daa"
v - "Yes"
z - "When we go make snowman?"
v - "Soon. Promise"
Zaaine started getting excited and paid attention to his food while Viren and Jeevika were on their macs finding tickets and hotels for their first family vacation.
