thats the only logical explanation i can come up with BUT ekta isnt known for her logical thinking so maybe raj did have a son at 40.

Abir is not gonna change positive. So let's not pin hopes on that. Accroding to Balaji sources he is supposed to be an out and out negative character. He will instigate Bhoomi now against her own family and father. He will disclose her real identity to her and that is the begining of a big war btw him and the viranis. A guys who almost took Karan;s life cannot be deemed postitve at any stage. He may be getting used but maybe loves getting used. 😆 He will eventually get incriminated and Bhoomi in all likelihood will carry his child. at that stage maybe Tulsi will get her married to that geek Joydeep (if sources are to be believed).

According to sources at Balaji - Abhir instigates Bhoomi by telling her that Karan is not her father and that Tulsi has killed her father Ansh.
