Nice topic .. well all ppl here in ds forum I guess in a way entertained by d show .. if de didn't de wud have stop watching d show on d first place forget coming in d forum for fighting .. we don't watch or go in d forum of ne kekta mata show coz we r not entertained there .. we really dont bother about a show which we don't like .. simple
about d social msg .. well I don't approve what RK is doing .. but I have no prob wid der characterization .. after all de make d show .. n there is a word called creative independence .. I will go for it .. every story don't give a social msg .. look at literature .. if social msg was mandatory then characters like Hanniball or Dorian Grey wudn't be a classic .. they r evil but they r d hero .. even look at Shakespearian tragedies .. Othelo, Macbeth all r fallen but all r protagonists n I don't have to say it that they r eternal .. right??

I watch MEIEJ for its a full on entertainment package. Its a laughter fest in some epis, some epis will unexpectedly make me cry and some will just make me angry at a character or the track but I still want to watch it and if not that then know whats going on. MEIEJ is Entertainment for me because it can make me shut down my laptop or stop doing whatever I am doing and give 30 minutes entirely to the show with my eyes glued to the TV.

We are not watching anything bad, unless we search for messages where they are not to be found and apply it to our life, which will be our fault, not the shows, not the creatives and not the characters. If I enjoy watching I Dream of Jeannie, I do not go on a search mission for a Jeannie so I think I can appropriately differentiate between fiction and reality and where to take messages sent out to society from. 😆

There are shows on TV that give social messages or that tell you what goes on in our society and learn from it. Open the newspaper in the morning and you'll find out whats our society come to and you learn from it. And my mom makes me (yea makes me ) watch shows like Crime Patrol, Shaitan and Savdhaan India, so that I am aware of the social status quo of women in our so called modern society and learn from it.

So, MEIEJ is Entertainment, Entertainment and Entertainment 👏

Very well said!. entertainment is if you wanna watch something and come back for it. and the message is never universal.. My perception of the show can be entirely different from someone else's. that does to make one of us right or wrong.
