The story of romance, emotions and sacrifice unfolded five years back and since then the Director's Kut's show "Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai" has gone to become one of the longest and the most loved show of the small screen. The story had started against the backdrop of Udaipur, where the show's female protagonist Akshara (Hina Khan) was introduced to the viewers for the first along with her family.

And now once again after completion of five successful years, the makers are planning to take the show back to its original location that is Udaipur. This time though instead of Akshara's family the story will now focus on Akshara and her husband Naitik (Karan Mehra).

Shooting at Udaipur was pure nostalgia for many of the unit members including Hina as she had given her first shot at Udaipur five years back. This time the team shot for three days and has covered the sequences related to the Gangaur festival, one of the most colorful festivals celebrated in Rajasthan. The festival will act as a backdrop in rebuilding the strained relationship of Naitik and Akshara.
