Published by: Pratima Singh Published on: Sun, 14 Apr 2013 at 02:55 ISTMumbai: On the professional front, television actress Preeti Puri is trying comedy for the first time in Aaj Ki Housewife Hai Sab Jaanti Haiand in personal life, she is gearing up to experience motherhood.
In her nine year old acting journey so far, the actress has been part of TV shows such as Kasautii Zindagi Kay, Kyunkii Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Kahiin To Hoga, among others.
Married to Vipin Choudhary, head of operations at Sunshine Productions, Preeti said, "Next year I would plan a baby. I will complete three years of marriage there is family pressure now. I will complete one year of my show (Aaj Ki Housewife...) as well and even they know that next year I would be planning a baby."
Talking about her stint with comedy in Zee TV's show Aaj Ki Housewife Hai Sab Jaanti Hai, she said comedy didn't come easy to her.
She said, "We started shooting in December. Initially, it was tough to do a comedy show. My language in the show is different. But everyone picks up, so did I. I am liking my character. This is the first time I am doing a comedy in nine years of being in the industry".
"I look for good characters. The popularity of the shows doesn't matter. I started with Kahiin To Hoga. I played the popular character Mauli. The only thing which mattered was the character," she added.
The actress admits characters do get monotonous in daily soaps.
"The people on the creative side work really hard. The characters do become monotonous at times, but when the track changes, it becomes exciting again," she said.
If the opportunity comes, Preeti would love to be seen on the big screen again.
"I want to do movies. When I started my career, I did six movies. I always thought that I should do more of movies but at that time you do whatever work you get. I want to do good characters in films. Nowadays, I can see so many people from TV entering into movies," she said.
