PART 4

Geet got out of the car and walked to Maan's side to open the door. She opened it to find a very scared Maan who looked like a deer who is hiding from a lion. His eyes were restless and his one hand was held by another his thumb was caressing his hand. Geet was amused by his way of expressing nervousness. She was used to the crowd that emitted confidence even if they feel like a mice from inside but he looked so naive. Geet couldn't help but be lost in his innocence. She was not sure if he is ready to face the world.

" daro math " she said
( don't be scared)

" nahi bilkul nahi hum bas ..." he couldn't complete his sentence
( of course not i was just ...)

Geet was aware of a man's ego. Even if they cannot do something they would never accept it. Considering Maan was once leading an army he is bound not to let his confidence down. She is not surprised though .He is unsure about this new world. Anyone will be intimidated if you travel about one and half century.

" tum mere saath aao. I ll take care of you " she said
( come with me .)

Even if Maan had had thousand better options than going with her at that moment he wouldn't have considered that as something about her told him that he needs her and vice versa. He is not aware about this new world and he could trust only her. She is kind of master for him and he cannot dare to disobey.

Geet began to walk to the elevator with Maan in her side. He was tensed she could say that but in front of the world he masked his expression. She could say he was successful because a young girl who just passed them in the entrance was drooling him which mean his looks are perfect and no suspicion likely.

When the door before them opened automatically reveling none inside Maan activated his protective skills and tried to fight the hidden enemy. He picked a long bamboo that was placed in a pot as a decorative item and threw it inside the elevator as if attacking someone. Geet looked at him bewildered. She was trying to get along with his way of thinking and action and this didn't help her at all. His ninja like pose terrified her. She can't afford anyone look at him behaving as a maniac.

" kya kar rahe ho? " Geet half shouted
( what are you doing? )

" yahan koi hai" he said looking around cautiously
( someone is here )

" what rubbish ye mera office hai. Koi nahi hai yahan " she said irritated
( ... this is my office . none is here )

" yeh darwaza apne aap khulgaya shayad aapke dushman ho sakte hai " he said a sudden alertness in his eyes talking about enemies
( the door opened automatically might be your enemy)

Geet bust into sudden laughter with his explanation. He looked at her confused.

" yeh automatic hai " she said. But he still wasn't convinced. She pulled him into the elevator and pressed the close button. The door closed

" deko ab kulega " she said pressing another button.
( now it will open)

Maan looked at the buttons with amusement and pressed the close button and looked at Geet to make sure if he hasn't done anything wrong. She smiled telling him it was ok.

" yeh bhi jadoo hai " he asked like 5 year old kid in a amusement park eyes twinkling with joy.
( is this magic as well ? )

" haan " she said her eyes not willing to avert from his.

" phir kabie yeh ninja wala things mat karna " she warned
( don't repeat you ninja act)

" main bus aapke raksha karna chata ta " he said as a matter of fact.
( i just wanted to protect you)

Geet looked at him speechless. No one has ever told that to her. No one has ever come forward to protect her, to make sure she was ok. It was always she who took care of herself. Even if she gets minor head ache no one was beside to ask her if she was ok. This was the first time someone actually said that they wanted to protect her. No one cared if she was fine. This man whom she knew not more than six hours was ready to protect her in this surreal world about which he has no clue.

" ruk kyun gaya ? " she was brought back by Maan's voice
( why has it stopped?)

" mera office yahan hai " she said walking out with him
( my office is here)

" listen hamesha mere paas rehana. Kissi se bhi baat mat kar. Agar koi pooche toh apna naam Maan bato sirf Maan. Teek hai" she jolted instructions in points and he was nodding like a baby
( stay with me always.don't talk to anyone. If some asks your name tell Maan. Ok?)

The both walked inside her office and it wouldn't be exaggerating if i say all eyes were on them. Maan was aware that the place was safe as Geet told him so he was walking beside her in his usual confident style. The full arm shirt didn't fail to show off his well built muscles. Geet didn't bother to look at anyone though she is aware of the reaction. She just walked to her cabin.

The cabin had huge table with a chairs and a couch in the side. It was mostly filled with charts, papers, pencils and other geometrical devises that she used.

" yeh mera cabin hai " she said proudly
( this is my cabin )

" aap kabie safai nahi karti?" he asked looking around
( don't you ever clean?)

Geet didn't expect that coming. She was very possessive about her work place and proud of it as well. She looked at him with a pouting complaining face.

" nahi bahut acha hai " he added
( its good)

He didn't want to upset her. Geet couldn't help but smile at his wired expression seeing charts of all colors scattered on the couch. They heard a knock and Geet was sure it was shaleen. He should be the first curious soul wanting to know what is happening in her life.

" tum yahan baito " she pushed Maan on the chair and handed him a file
( sit here)

" ab koi aayega tum uss se baath nahi karoge bas iss file deko. Jab mein apne haath hilaoongi tum kahoge 'baby lets go' " she said
(Someone will come here but don't bother to talk to him concentrate on the file when i shake my hands you must say ' babylets go' )

" ji? "

" baby kaho "
( say baby)

" bhabi " ( sister in law)

" bhabi nahi dumbo ba-by"
( not bhabi stupid ba-by)

" baby " he said

" lets go " she said slowly making him understand

" Lts ga " he said

" well it kinda sounds wired but i ll manage " she said opening a random page in the file.

Geet opened the door and tadda it was shaleen. Geet raised her eyebrows questioningly.

" i wanted to talk to you " he said

" i m busy " Geet replied

" its urgent . May i come in "he insisted

" ohk " she let him in

Shaleen's was surprised seeing a man in Geet's cabin. He all the way thought that Geet was lying about this boyfriend thing to get him confess his feelings. He never expected to encounter one. What bothered him most was that the man actually looked way better than him.

" so you had some business " Geet said

" oh i ...umm... i came here to..." shaleen stammered while his eyes were fixed on Maan who was busy pretending to read the file as suggested by Geet.

" do i know him? " shaleen asked

" i don't think so " Geet said moving near Maan

" Maan is my childhood friend and it is not more than three months that we met again and began to date " she said thoroughly entertained.

"You are dating him? " shaleen asked shocked.

"If we weren't dating he wouldn't have moved in with me " Geet said in a duh tone

"You both are living together ? " man he was in foe shocks.

" shaleen you told me its important and in no way my relationship with Maan is important to you. Maan promised to take me out for lunch so make it fast " Geet said

" i ... well its important " shaleen looked at the file he had brought that he didn't see Geet tapping Maan's shoulder.

" laby gets po "

Both Geet and shaleen looked at Maan. Geet in horror and shaleen in confusion.

" what did you say ?" shaleen asked

Maan was all the while repeating what Geet has taught him but once when he felt her fingers poking his shoulders he became blank. Geet looked at him accusingly poor boy hid himself behind the file.

" ah well its French " Geet managed. She thanked all possible gods for shaleen not knowing French as Japanese was his preference while others chose French.

" it didn't sound like that " shaleen said lowering his eyebrows.

" as if you know the language." Geet said .

Shaleen seemed confused so not wanting him to ponder on things further Geet held Maan's hands giving him a look that said ' dare you jerk away'. Maan was already terrified for messing things that he just followed her.

"Now if you could excuse us " Geet began to walk pulling Maan with her.

"It's about nandanan haveli " shallen said suddenly remembering about the very important project in store for the their company.

"Whatever " he heard Geet say as if she gives a damn to it

" nandanan haveli " she heard Maan repeat and he stopped walking .

"kya hua ? " she asked
( what happened ?)

" nandanan haveli " he looked at her and from the looks she knew that he recognized the name.
