I feel very bad not commenting for almost two weeks. But it is vacation time and it becomes very hard. But I finally caught up.

Episode 83 - 92

With these episodes we foray into Arnav process of softening toward Khushi. He has yelled at her about not understanding what it is like to lose parents without knowing that Khushi is herself an orphan. He is so upset when he finds out that he realizes that an apology is in order.
here we get to see the lighter side of Arnav where he is trying to practice in front of the mirror how to say Sorry. It is really a treat to watch.

Here I am also sorry to say that Lavanya is making a fool of herself by trying to emulate Khushi's "Arnavji" and getting a lot of flak from Arnav for it

The restless when Khushi doesnt turn up at work on the day he has geared up for the apology is awesome. For the first time we get to see a glimpse of the vulnerability in Arnav.

The scene of the apology itself with Khushi telling Arnav about the pain of becoming an orphan at an age a child doesn't even know the meaning of death was absolutely heart rending.

The subsequent "Sorry" and "I am really Sorry" by a moist eyed Arnav was a truly amazing to watch.

A beautiful and unforgettable scene. A big kudos to all the technicians as well.

The following day there is a surprise when Arnav says Sorry once again when he see he has hurt Khushi's arm. The Man has truly begun to melt.

But then this good times change the very next day when he sees Lavanya dressed in a bridal costume siting on his bed.He is so livid especially when he sees Khushi hiding in the bathroom. This is the loudest I have seen him yell. He offend Lavanya so much that she leaves the house in anger.

Now Khushi is upset knowing this and takes it upon herself to rectify the matter that is all of her doing. So she begins by writing a letter which gets torn into shreds by ASR who has figured out who wrote it.

Next she tries talking to him at work only to be berated harshly by the man. But the moment Arnav sees tears in her eyes he is upset. He can no longer be unaffected by her tears.

KKG is not deterred by his anger. She decides on one last attempt to placate him. She sells her bangle to buy him his favorite thing. Plants.

Finally the monster in assuaged -- I don't think it is the plants that did the trick thought...but rather it was the teary peal drops that glistened on her cheeks.

He turns up at Lavanya's to bring her back home and hugs her thinking this will finally make that KKG happy. But what is this? She seems to be still upset with tears rolling down her cheeks.

This is another phenomenal scene where Khushi doesn't whys she is upset seeing them hug and Arnav is wondering about the same.

The following day Khushi is totally confused about her reaction and thanks to Shyam finds out that the reason for the restless should be further tested if there is an increase in the heartbeat when the person comes closer.

When Khushi enters the house her heart begins to beat --- yeah Khushi this is your first ever dhak-dhak..congratulations!!!

Next we have Khushi and Arnav light scenes with her putting the blame of the pot incident on Arnav and luckily for her he relents. The we have the Kanya pooja incident where he apologizes to his Di having learnt a line from Khushi and everyone appreciates him for it.

The next day Khushi upset with her heart beating erratically that she yells at Arnav when he comes into the kitchen. But seeing him faint in front of her she panics and ulitmately revives him with a jalebi. It had to be a jalebi isn't it?

Khushi is so upset with her behaviour she goes up to his room to apologize with her hands still smeared with besan paste. In the middle of her aplogy she ends up smearing her own face with besan making Arnav laugh for the first time, apparently in many years according to his sister.

But all I can say is that it was also the first time we saw Arnav laugh and what a treat it was !!!

@sohara

Thnx dear for lovely comments on 88

You know how many times I cried watching this scene! My heart bleeds for Khushi every single time I watch this scene. She sold her most precious possession, her mom's nissani to reunite her love with another girl. How selfless angel she is.Gosh my eyes are getting blurry again. I love Khushi so much, can't see her in pain

You know sohara this scene is way too close to my heart for so many reasons as I sold most of my jewelry to keep up with my life ,finishing my education, paying my debt and especially when I sold my grand mom's earrings which she only gave me because she loved me so much ,I can't explain to you how much and how many months I was restless but I had no choice. It still hurts and thats why these in these epis my eyes are never dry ,every time I watch, write or read everything comes right in front of me and Khushi's pain reminds me my time.uhhh too much ...

Another parallel scene which is the beginning of realizing feelings for each others. If she can't forget his embrace and her tears ,he can't forget her reaction and tears but both don't know the reason.WHY?????

They know, but both are in denial.

No they are in denial but they don't have real feel or acknowledgement of this feeling called LOVE.Yes they know they have something for each other but its not strong yet.{IMO}

[/QUOTE

Hi Arshi, Your real life incidents truly made me teary eyed. May you never have to regret what you had to do since it was a very worthy cause and reach the pinnacles of success that you deserve and dream of!

actually, had khushi taken love tips from buaji, that chameli ka tel... 🤣 🤣 🤣 well they got him into not at all sexy white embroidered kurta. haven't these guys heard of the hotness of khadi white kurtas?

Oh dear, you are NOT at all ajeeb.. I am with you all the way.. or we both are euqally ajeeb..:)..
I remember how I sprung from my couch with rejuvenated excitement when I heard that hard metallic ASR BG score during the Mrs. India track (when he comes to know that Khushi is participating) after what seemed like eons!

I wish I knew the exact roles of writers, CVs, PH and directors in a TV show. Their roles may not be much clearly delineated. Ved Raj, although was the writer, was not exactly the one to portray characters. ASR was mainly a result of Gul and Nissar initially as we know... as their interest in this show faded so did in that character and we could see the resultant much attenuated form of ASR later on to our great dismay! Khushi's was not thought of as much as ASR's as we know, and Ved Raj said later on that it was much of an afterthought, may be 5-6 months into the show, that they have decided to keep her "weird"! We knew how things fell apart.. probably there is not any point in crying over spilt milk now although folks like me keep doing it!

chalhov, horizon,

lovely saturday morning post. so true and so touching, what horizon's father says about words being salt in pickle. and what salt makers we have had in our films. poets that were often activists, serious thinkers, or even social misfits. but their words. those just stay. there's not a feeling on earth they haven't touched upon and made us get closer to. i used to think finding a hindi song to match practically any and every situation, was a sign of my filminess. but now i know it's a testimony to the writers' intuition and art. i don't think in any culture such a peculiarly precious body of work exists. of course, you have the sublime here and the utterly pedestrian or ridiculous too, but really there's not a situation in life for which a good, beautiful, hindi gaana can't be found. and so many brilliant writers working with music directors to create music that makes one forget everything. loved your songs, i don't know manzilon pe lootata but the words are lovely (what i can understand, that is), ok, mera wala ganaa. strangely, all by gulzar. i didn't know, happened that way.

some of these feelings between them ever since that forced marriage and all the searing and seething within, especially as he leaves:
kash aisa ho tere qadmo se, chun ke manzil chale aur kahi door kahi
tum gar saath ho, manzilo ki kami to nahi
tere bina zindagi se koyi, shikwa, to nahi
tere bina zindagi bhi lekin zindagi toh nahi

jee mein aata hai, tere daaman mein, sar jhuka ke ham rote rahe, rote rahe
teri bhi aankho mein, aansuo ki nami to nahi

of course, this one, again and again, moments of ipk say this to me, the song that inspired its very name. :

ek khaamoshi hai sunati hai kahaa karati hai
naa ye bujhati hai naa rukati hai naa thahari hai kahin
nuur ki buund hai sadiyon se bahaa karati hai
sirf ehasaas hai ye, ruuh se mahasuus karo
pyaar ko pyaar hi rahane do, koi naam naa do
ham ne dekhi hai

some part of the story kept reminding me of:
in reshami raahon men ik raah to vo hogi
tum tak jo pahunchati hai is mod se jaati hai
is mod se jaate hain

Beautiful songs Indi, Andhi is always a classic, and the second one will always remain a classic definition or non- definition of love!
@Red, bold: So true. Most of the writers/poets that time were given a free hand to exercise their poetic liberties hence they could come up with treasure houses for us to explore now!
After Arshi's hate marriage SR, ASR's state reminded me of "Woh Shaam kuch ajeeb thi.. woh kal bhi paas paas thi.. woh aaj bhi kareeb hai" .. as if painfully feeling the stark contrast of how wonderful it was when they were falling in love just days earlier to how the tables have turned.
(I remember listening to two versions of this song years ago, one with past tense and another with present, like "mai sochtha tha/ mai sochtha hun mera naam gun guna rahi hai woh" I thought so but what I could find online lately is only the version with present tense)

Khushi's pain during their hate marriage always reminded me
"dil ki tasalli ke liye jhooti chamak jhootha nikha..
jeevan tho soona hi raha sab samjhe aaye hai bahar...
kaliyon se koi poochtha hasthee hai woh ya rothi hain...
aise bhi baathen hothi hain... kuch dil ne kaha.. kuch bhi nahin" (Anupama)

Episode 87-88:

"I don't care, jo bhi hai utta kar bahaar phek do"

it was too, as always she had found her way to him with out permission. She wasn't just "jo bhi (anyone)" anymore is she?...At one time this "jo bhi" girl didn't make a difference, when she similarly barged into one of his meetings which bought everyone to their feet except him, he sat still, kept his calm...

my how things have changed...Today everyone else sat there calmly while he was rattled up merely at her sight...no time wasted before he aggressively makes his way to her. One thing that has stayed the same however is Khushi's "Darti hai par Karti hai (She's scared but gets things done)" attitude. The fear on her face can be seen miles away, but she's here with a purpose: Bring the two hearts back together.

She apologizes for daring to call him wrong for whatever he is doing to Lavanya and before she can finish telling him about La's plans to leave, he interrupts her
"Khushi Kumaari Gupta"

Interesting how he always makes things about Khushi where La is concerned, consistently since the day after the contract was signed, La came in thanking him for the designer bag he gifted her but he was completely drowned in Khushi, although his thoughs then were more about beating her to win the contract, the aloofness was ever present.

I feel for La who loves Arnav unconditionally in every sense. she has seen and noticed Arnav's out of character behavior with Khushi but has chosen to ignore it, not to mention his slip-of-toungue with Khushi name instead of hers. Regardless of all that, she goes running back to him the moment he shows up today because she was holding on to something with great hope as many people inn real life do, that's the beauty of her character, she's very real just unlucky in love.

ok back to the episode

..with full "haq" rights, he takes her by the hand and pulls her to his office, He seems to enjoy these tight grips on her, his attempt to keep things under control and/or maybe even his secret desire of having her comes out in the only way he knows how...anger

"millions depend on this conference" teeth clenched, he scolds her for barging in anywhere with her nonsense "Everything that you don't say is not nonsense" She pries herself free from his hand (another words he loses the control😆), urgency in her voice,."I don't know about money, but what i came here to tell you is even more important, Lavanyaji is leaving the country...this very evening"

For one second, the news shocks him, yes he would miss her, but again it was just for one second before his very cold "haan to(so?)" Sobti at his mean arrogant best here, the cold eyes, harsh look on his face...uff!

This scene begging a comparison to the one in the storage room where she tells him she is leaving for Lucknow also "hamesha ke liye"...his reaction was "tum aise nahi ja sakti, khushi, khushi! KHUSHI!!!" screaming after her like she took breath of life with him and how that moment played in his head like a broken record countless times for days...even in his sleep he woke startled at the mere thought...the new of La leaving just doesn't garner that response from him. His reaction to his long time girlfriend leaving for good is incomprehensible by Khushi "To matlab? appko koi farq nahi padta? she loves you Arnav ji, and you also"
Again he cuts her off before she could finish how he felt for La, "Whatever was between us, its over...and you can get out" Khushi stood there stunned...the ever so romantic girl never heard of such fickle love that can't end with two words, she refuses to believe it now"just by saying "its over" doesn't change the relations ship that existed...this can't be true love"

"your used to training people, now you'll teach me what love is?" he spouts back -had to laugh at this line because the answer is yes, she will teach him a thing or two about love. When the contract is coming close to the end,KHushi leaves the RM to wean herself away from him "Sab kuch aise hi khatam kar dogi?" ...then he'll be the one telling her it all just can't end with "its over"

"Did you every even love her? no, you were lying because people who love can never do this" maybe that's why Lavanyji is leaving and it makes no different to you"
"haan nahi padta farq (It doesn't make a difference!!) By lavanya leaving, it only proves what i say is true...that two people can't stay together their whole life, they change with time and move on, Lavanya can go mujh usse koi farq nahi padta! (it doesn't make any difference to me!)" what a powerful line, again he gives her a beam into himself and his reasoning that others seldom see. The tragedy of his parents and their marriage once again comes to mind here. the "farq nahi padta" s start with a bang, bluntly being used here to compare the farq made by La's leaving Vs. Khushi's tears

Khushi seem heartbroken, sure for La but also for herself, she had fallen for him, there has to be a part of her that want to believe this man is capable of real love. Ofcourse deep down she know he is, she's has seen that side of him despite her lack of acknowledgement of it. Khushi tells him that La was crying "she doesn't know this side of you, she prob thinks"

"nahi hai dil ASR ke seene mein, yehi kehna chahti thi na? aur accha hai ki nahi hai (ya, ASR doesn't have a heart!!! is that what you were trying to say?)" A direct response to all those names suggestive of him being a monster...he truely feels she thinks this way of him and it hurts him to no end... its like he's saying "Thats what you think about me right?"

He goes on to insult her, again turning the whole thing towards Khushi accusing her of being fake and it doesn't go unnoticed by her "aap baat ko kahan se kahn le kar aaye (where are taking this conversation?)"

After justifying his insults, he yells for security ...but his harsh face quickly melts at the sight of his biggest weakness, her tears.

She shows herself out, his melted eyes watch her painfully,

and as she passes by, his eyes close enduring all the pain...

She turns back for him, and he returns the look making no attempts to hide his pain...there is no way she missed that big dil(heart) in ASR's "seena"(chest).

Coming down from his office still feeling guilty and asks DM for guidance at the sight of a plant, an idea pops into her head " the only thing that laad governor likes"...but where to get the money?

her eyes fall on her prized possession, her kangan, no second thoughts about selling it, in fact she smiles at the thought of buy plants for the man that just insulted and kicked her out of his office...

Arnav walks into his office to the surprise of all the plants and a note,

"ASR, mein jaanti hoon ki aap iss plant se kitna pyaar karte hai, mein bhi aapse itna hi pyaar karti hoon, I love you, I'm sorry, please mujhe rok lijiye nahin to mein pahaad se kud kar apni jaan de dungi"

hehe, that last part has Kushi Kumaar Gupta's dramabaazi written all over it...Akaash will thank her for it one day, but Arnav seems to believe its a genuine one from La...Maybe he was too touched by the gesture...her writing that she loves him as much as he loves those plants, those plants that he connects to his mother...maybe La gets him he thought. He did care for her and he did tell his family that if La wants to come back she will do it herself and here she has apologized. He may not know these plants and the note were from Khushi, but his whole being is only connecting him with her thoughts. Putting the note down, he leans back on his chair, eyes closed...

"aapne kabhi bhi unse pyaar kiya bhi tha?(Did you ever love her?)" her tear-filled voice asks him, images of khushi crying...they startle him back into opening his eyes.

"Her effect on him is scaring him kyu uski aakhon ke aansso mujhe pareshaan kar rahe hai? kyu main usse rota hua nahi dekh sakta?" only a split second between that though and his hand slamming his hand on his desk letting out some frustrations "Dammit!" his helplessness against her tears well reflected on his face...again it became about Khushi despite La's name on that letter.

At La's place, Khushi tells La "hame pura vishwaas hai ki ArnavJi aayenge, hamme yekeen hai (I have full trust that he will come, I 'm certain)"just then Khushi "vishwaas" and her "yekeen" and of course her tears pulls him in "ASR?" La asks in disbelief

a twinkling smile on both La and Khushi's face. But Its Khushi's smile that made his face glow, after all that's why he was here, does he even realize that??

he must, but his ego is too big to give in yet.

Khushi watches La run into his arms, that big smile still intact...brought these two together again... La hugs Arnav tightly while he stands there limp for a second...amazing music to set the dramatic scene and the camera work is magnificent. Khushi smile slowly disappears as Arnav wraps his right hand around La, then slowly the left...

Khushi's face goes pale. Its happened twice before, but today this feeling digs deep inside her letting out a tear she can't control, in fact only notice by her after it rolls down her cheek, too numb to feel it she catches it in her hand and asks it a million questions..

if only the tear could talk. Utter sadness, that feeling of losing a piece of herself while standing there helpless. La still in his arms, his attention diverts to Khushi, he recognizes that look from the other two times but today he feel the magnitude as well.

She looks back at his questioning face, there was nothing more to hide, she was being exposed without a clue how to stop it, she quickly makes her way out of there while Arnav watches.

He carried that look of hers all the way home with him, while the whole family(with the exception of Nani) takes delight ing La's return,

Arnav sneaks off to his room to be alone with her thoughts trying to make sense of that tear...or did he already know there are bigger things at play?

In a parellel scene, Khushi asks DM "yeh kyu ho raha hai? hum pareshaan kyu hai? aakhir hamaare kehne pe hi to...hamme to khushi hona chahiye (What's happening to me, why am i upset? afterall i was the one that,i should be happy)" a slight smile picturing La's happiness but is wiped away at the thought his arms around her "jab woh dono saath...pata nahi hamme kya..hum pareshaan kyu hai? (When those two are together...don't know what, why am i ?)" she asked similar questions after she handed him her resignation, LOL, poor girl, his effect on her seems to only bring more confusion to her.

Its La's return back at the RM but its Khushi who makes a bigger dent in his wall of ASR. Once again without realizing, he is metaphorically calling out for Khushi instead of Lavanya. He is just too engulfed in Khushi to realise his unfairness towards La. When La's purpose will be fulfilled, once again Khushi's name will slip out instead of hers, but that time he will see the pain in La's eyes and set her free. On Khushi's side, as naaive as she is about love, her feeling for him have surfaced in full force with that tear...if he was the first to fall for her and the first to feel her aura, she will be the first to hear the dhak dhaks that will only get louder and louder till they both give in.

Drool Corner!!!!!!

❤️❤️❤️

Uff BD. Love your take on two of my fav episodes. How closely you must have watched and sensed IPK, to make these beautiful observations and comparisons which I have highlighted in red. I am amazed. The pics are awesome, full of expressions. The one with ASR holding her by her wrist and dragging her out of the conference room touched a chord in my heart. About the card, I feel ASR knew that Khushi had written it to make La and him patch up.And that is why he went to La. He knew he had wronged La and was sorry but what was uppermost in his mind was to make Khushi khushi. The last part of your analysis, ASR lfting his hand to hug La and Khushi's sudden tear was pure poetry, BD! You can call me antaryaami like Durgey but hanging so long on the curtain with indi has rubbed off! When will this happen to me?! There are the two of you, writing musicals and here am I just clowning away!

^^^ horizon,

it's a team of almost 10 writers, each taking charge of something, i think that gets a serial together. then you have inputs from gul, nissar, channel, and all sorts of people, including freelance writers who work on scenes when needed and when writers are caving in undr the pressure. i can sense it's not exactly a happy place to write if you are a writer. ha ha, commercial writing at its most cantankerous. i am copywriter in a not too large agency and it's crazy enough. good ideas invariably lost. so if in the midlle of that they got anything right i'm grateful enough. and we got the talent of barun and sanaya to take it a higher. in fact, maybe because these two did thise characters they came to life in the first place.

someone in the group had a way with plot and the little gimmicks of closing of loops, etc., that made watching interesting, someone certainly had insight into the nature of this feeling called love and took it beyond corny. the dialogue writers in my opinion were gifted. screenplay had a stylish feel and managed to avoid feeling thobby as most of our serials do. i look for the moments that remain killers despite many problems, and every day something pops up. i also realise the reason people hungered for asr khushi segments is because they wer the best written. the others had a bit of a sameness, though mami was always used well. it's the shyam bits that feel like a drag, sort of crass, and too full of the expected serial villain nonsense.

khushi. sadly, the woman is much maligned on indian tv. the constant devi making, what a sick way to keep us "managed." so we have a long chain of heroines who are constantly setting parivaars right, no personal lives or ambitions of their own. i think khushi had to be made interesting because they asked themselves what sort of a girl will asr be attracted to.

so along came a different girl, but somehow she never became precious enough to anyone for them to enter her character for its own sake. so once this character had done the job of making asr feel his feelings, along came her good bahu job, reason for existence being to make her fam's life alright. slay asuras, set everyone straight, but never ask herself, who am i? what do i want?

thanks to sanaya's abilities and the dialogue writers we have a real girl happening. but as i watch the current dhakdhak episodes it strikes me as odd that khushi never identified that feeling as attraction. she who understood so much, never understood this?

but the joy is asr's bg still plays.

Lovely poem for a lovely scene Durga yes Khushi suddenly realises something but still cannot name it. will come slowly with acidity

Durga, mmmuuwwwaaa for this one, you truely capture this epic hystorical moment...❤️❤️❤️!

Thank you all for these lovely comments. 🤗 ❤️Katelyn, so many hearts! Thank you so much.
Did you all notice that I have included the line 'Dard itna kyun hua' for both Arnav and Khushi? It wasn't deliberate, but I noticed that I had repeated the line after I finished writing the poem. Then, I thought, why not, both are having similar feelings. So, both must be having similar thoughts. Isn't it? So, I let it be. 😊
