Chapter 37

Within a few minutes all goons were lying on the ground and pleading him to stop. He then turned to look at Riya, but Riya wasn't to be seen anywhere. He looked around and shouted her name, but nothing. She had disappeared completely again.

"But it no longer matter! Now that I know you are here, how long will you be able to hide yourself from me!" Arjun finally smiling after so many days.

"kab thak bacho gi humsein?" Arjun said and returned home whistling a soft tune. He was happy, finally he knew that Riya was here somewhere, it was a small village, it wouldn't be difficult to find her out.

He reached his beach house, and went to his room happily. He had barely returned back when he heard someone knocking on his door.

A few hours earlier

Everyone was out sitting, when they saw Arjun leaving the beach house. They no longer knew how to bring a smile on his face. Soon Mr and Mrs Rawte and Dadi left saying they were going to meet some of their old friends staying here, and on purpose left Sam and Shaina alone. They had seen something in Sam's eyes, and thus thought that these two also needed some time to work out things between them.

When everyone had left, Shaina was feeling so awkward alone with Sam, she didn't know what to do or say anymore. And Sam was feeling the same thing.

"Shall we…" both started at the same time.

"Pehle aap," Shaina said.

"Nahin, pehle tum, ladies first," Sam said with a teasing smile.

Shaina smiled back at him and said, "Theek hein? So what do we do now that we are all alone?" belatedly she realized that her words could be taken the wrong way and blushed.

And like she had guessed Sam did take her words the wrong way, and when he saw her blushing, he knew that even Shaina had realized what she said. But he liked seeing her blush, he didn't know why but suddenly he felt like teasing her. So he got up from his seat, and came in a menacing way towards Shaina, all the while staring at her. At first Shaina was shocked when she saw Sam standing and coming towards her. She looked in his eyes for sometime, but couldn't keep the eye contact for long. So she lowered her eyes, and waited for what Sam had in mind. Her heart started beating faster and faster. It had been so long since they were together, that it was as if she was back to square one, where her feelings and heart were out of her control. Sam soon was standing in front of her, and he bent to sit in a chair just next to her.

"To kya karein?" Sam said enjoying Shaina's lowered eyes and red face. He felt something strange in his heart seeing Shaina like that.

"Matlab kya hein apka?" Shaina said trying to control her wayward feelings. She raised her eyes to look at him, and blushed even more under his stare.

"Matlab, hum akhele hein? Koi nahin hein?" Sam said enjoying teasing her a lot.

"Mera who matlab nahin tha!" Shaina replied back.

"Kya matlab nahin tha?" Sam queried back with a naughty smile.

"Jo app soch rahe ho," Shaina replied.

"Acha? And how do you know what I'm thinking?" Sam said naughtily.

Shaina blushed even more, because Sam was right, maybe she had just over reacted and imagined things.

"I…. mere matlab mein…" she started to stammer, and when no words came out of her mouth, she decided that running away was the best thing she could do. So she stood up and was going to run away, when she felt Sam grabbing her hand, and pulling her.

Sam was enjoying seeing Shaina's face, but then he saw that Shaina was going to run away. So he immediately caught her hand and pulled her back. However he didn't realize that he had pulled her quite strongly that Shaina lost her balance and ended up on his lap.

Both were now shocked at this turn of events, and both looked in each other's eyes and shared a long eyelock.

Suddenly Sam's phone started to ring, breaking their eyelock. Both blushed and Shaina immediately got up from his lap and ran in the house.

Sam controlled his heartbeats, and picked up the call slightly angry at the person who disturbed them.

"Yes what?" Sam said.

"Kya hoowa Sam? Why are you sounding so angry?" Mr Rawte said.

"Papa, kuch bhi to nahin," Sam replied softly.

"Well Sam, we will come only after diner, so don't wait for us. You, Shaina and Arjun have something for diner," Mr Rawte said and cut the call.

"Hmmm well Arjun isn't here yet, so it's only me and Shaina?" Sam said naughtily. He hadnt had enough of teasing her yet. He went inside to find her and tell her that they were going to be alone.

He found her in the kitchen, trying to decide what to cook for diner. She was still deciding what to have for diner, when Sam entered.

"Shaina, ek boori khabar hein," Sam said with a serious face.

At one look at Sam's face, Shaina felt scared and came to stand in front of him. She raised her hand and put it on his shoulder and asked, "kya hoowa sab theek to hein?"

"Well sab to theek hein, tumhare alawa!" Sam replied wickedly.

"Mujhe kya hoowa?" Shaina asked still confused.

"Well Papa just called saying they'll come late after diner. Meaning you are still alone with me," Sam said and winked at her.

She removed her hand from his shoulder and stepped back, "Well it's not a problem, I trust you!" And gave him a sweet smile.

"But you should. Tum ek akeli khoobsurat ladki, aur mein ek jawan ladka," Sam said and took some steps towards her.

Shaina again took some steps backwards, and Sam still came towards her, till finally her back hit the wall, and Sam had put both his hands on the wall, blocking her escape. However he didn't came too close at all to her, he maintained some space between their bodies.

"Sam yeh kya kar rahe ho aap," Shaina asked shyly.

"kuch bhi to nahin?" Sam replied back with a smile.

"Mein jaoon to?" Shaina said.

"Hein jao!" Sam said.

"Aap jaane do to nah," Shaina reminded him.

"Aur agar mein na jahoon to?" Sam asked her.

At present

Arjun went to open his door, and saw Sam and Shaina staring with open mouths at him.

"What?" he asked at them.

"Arre aap to hass rahe ho? Kya hoowa?" Shaina said.

"Arjun, what happened?" Sam asked.

Arjun put his hands on his head, and ruffled his hair and smiled a bit shyly. But he was so happy, that he could keep himself quiet at all. So he immediately told them that he had seen Riya and that she was here.

Finally everything was going to be well. Shaina and Sam were happy that Arjun had found his smile back, and knowing Arjun, they knew that soon Riya would be back. They had never dared asked Arjun what had happened, that's why they never understood why Riya went away. But now seeing the determination in Arjun's eyes, they were sure that soon he'd win back his love.

They all had a quiet diner and went to sleep in their respective rooms. But no one could sleep that night. Sam and Shaina because they were still thinking about what happened in the kitchen, while Arjun because he could stop himself from thinking about his Riya.

Next morning as soon as Arjun got up, he showered and immediately went out to gather information about his Riya. He went to ask a few places, and soon he was told that Riya was living in a convent, and that all her money had been stolen. He felt angry at himself, that his Riya had suffered so much, and he hadnt been there for her.

"But no more, I'll never ever let you suffer again Ri," he said to himself and went to the convent to see Riya. He had just reached there in his car, when he saw Riya and some ladies coming out and taking a cab. He followed them and saw that they were going to the market. He got down from his car, and followed her inside. But soon he lost track of her inside the market, because they were so many people. But still he didn't accept defeat till he finally he saw her fighting with a merchant. He went to stand closer to her and heard her saying that the price of his vegetables was too high. And after having given him a piece of her mind, she turned to go away but bumped into someone standing in her way.

She raised her head to say sorry, but the words never left her mouth, when she realized that it was Arjun. For one second, she was completely lost in his eyes, but soon her trance broke when she heard someone calling her name. She immediately ran away again.

"For how long Riya? And now I already know where you are staying now!" Arjun said with a smile watching Riya ran away again from him.
