As the story is unfolding, events are taking Kumud in its folds.

I am giving my view point from a small towner perspective. As a middle class family girl that too in a village/ small town, its a big thing if a girl is even seen chatting with a boy leave aside sitting with him for long hours that too after sunset. Because being a small place every one knows every one. Kumud being from a rich family of the village, that too beautiful, marriageable as well as been in lime light for some reasons( be it fighting with pujari ji for computer and then Saras) would be a popular girl. And her activities can not go unnoticed.

Quite evident that Without any formal disclosure too Illaben came to know that Saras is the boy who has come to marry Kumud ( ila ben implied this in her dialogues to Kumud as well as Saras), so it's also logical that the most of the village would be knowing this/ having a hint of this.

(At times one wonders that when ever there is conversation between Kumud and Saras, illaben never over hears it, or when Kumud goes back to her place in night, does no one notices or may be it will be used as accusations later)

Point I want to drive down is, that we as viewers know that ultimately Saras will propose to her, but being a Kumud right now, how scared she would be or her mother or Dukhba, that she has been rejected, and still she will be linked with this man. And mind it, in small towns breaking of an engagement ( its almost refusal from boy and boy's staying in the same house) is a big thing.

Kumud's crying yesterday, also were typical middle class, small town values that you and right to your body lies with one and only one man, your husband. She knows she has been rejected, the relationship doesnot have a future, still how could some one touch her like that and for a moment even she lost her senses. How could she do this!

She is too dissappointed with herself as well as embarrassed.

In fact, now it's Saras's onus to clear the air by saying yes or no, as he needs to show up as a man enough that he accepts being falling in love and not someone who is falling in lust for kumud's irresistability!

I agree, the next step has to be Saras's. Kumud is torn between her feelings for him and the honour and word she has to keep. When she hears her father talk excitedly about her and Saras, she does not know what to do...her helplessness and sadness is evident in her eyes (very beautifully portrayed yesterday). Saras has also realized that he crossed the line with his momentary loss of reason and capitulation to his feelings. I hope he meets Kumud and declares that he has fallen in love with her. That will alleviate her feeling that she has commited a wrong.

Also this will put Saraswatichandra in high pedestal that he accepts her, redeeming him of the guilt that he rejected a girl whose Prince Charming was saraswatichandra, even before they had met!

This is what the whole stroy is about dear!!

And yes I agree Saras needs to take a stand as a man ,his self confusion will cost there love story a big tregedy

Guman knows Kumud is small town girl and is planning to tarnish her reputation and ultimately Vidyachatur

But here i want to add something of my own Kumud is no normal girl like others she is a rebel !!

I too belong to middle class society but never thought of giving milk to some poor instead i always served to lord Shiva (call me selfish ,yes i am !!) so that i may have a good husband and infact i have it too ! ...But Kumud never does it...which shows she is not at all concerned about herself.

She is a woman has a heart which beats but at the same time she is all so giving that she did not care what people may say when she goes to help a man in nights

Now u need to be above normal to have those guts to go against family against society for a cause ...

And so will be the story of Kumud's life...it will not at all be normal ...infact its going to be a journey full of thorns coz of cause she fights and heart she follows

Firstly, shana loved your post ye to Hona hi tha!

Ya you are right she is a rebel. Just wanted to add, it's my body, and I would choose the person who touches it, and not someone who does not have the guts to say he accepts me or has fallen for me, is itself a sign of a rebellious girl...that your Kumud is! her fighting spirit is ours too😊

well i feel saras kumud have yet to realise that they r in love coz if they would have known it ...then neither saras would have felt sorry nor kumud would have hated herself for giving in ...

Good post!!!! I agree but knowing that he said no goes beyond a small town thing...if he's changed his mind or is unsure he has to tell her, otherwise it's safest for her not to assume his intentions and back off.

it's hard because she doens't want to get attached to something that's already been rejected! i agree that he definitely needs to say something, she made it pretty clear, but he just matches her by taking 10 steps back, it's so annoying!! grrr

I agree with your post.

They both have ego problems as well as stubbornness, besides that Saras wants to say yes to her, but something is stopping him at the moment.
