PART 22

Night time and Khushi was sitting on the terrace with her mobile in the pretence of studying. She couldn't resist gazing at the mobile for each and every 20 seconds. The curiosity and eagerness seems to fill her stomach that she even forgot to have her dinner. Buaji who was searching her sanka devi came and saw her. She was reading her book but it looked as if her concentration was dragged by the mobile phone kept near her book. Buaji kept a hand on her head looking at her niece with wonder on how she has lost herself to her Arnavji.

Buaji : arre titaliya.. do one thing at a time.. If you want to stare at your mobile then close your book and continue staring or study without looking into your mobile.

Khushi : uffo.. Buaji. I came to the terrace to escape from your blabberings. Wont you let me in peace here as well?

Buaji : oh' now this old lady's blabber has become a nuisance for your titaliya?

Buaji faked a sad expression which brought tears in Khsuhi's eyes.. Khushi and NK were her only happiness and both of them vowed that they would never make her sad. They looked after her like a mother and played with her like a friend. Khushi got emotional hearing Buaji's words and rushed to give a warm hug to console her..

Khushi : No buaji.. don't think that way. I just wanted to sit alone that's all. I didn't mean to hurt u. I can never go away from you buaji.

Buaji knew how to make her niece fall for her fake emotions. She too loved the kids like her brother. She knew how much Khushi loved her family how she cant see their faces going sad any time.

Buaji : See I know how to tackle you titaliya. Why are you crying for all these silly matters? Now what will happen when you go to sasural leaving us behind alone.

Khushi : I will come rushing to my house to meet my family whenever I like. I know no one would stop me there.

Buaji : But what will you do when you move to US with Arnav bitwa after some days ? U cant come taking a rickshaw and meet your family whenever you like pagli.

That thought struck Khushi hard on her brains. She hadn't even given a thought about that still. She had to travel to US one day or other. On one side the happiness that she would share her with him and on the other the separation from her parents and family.

Buaji : titaliya.. what happened to you ? are you worried ?

Khushi : No..Buaji.. I m ok.. Don't worry..

Buaji : Fine.. come have your dinner first and then wait for your much awaited call.

Khushi was about to turn and move with Buaji downstairs. Her mobile suddenly rang stopping her in the middle. Her face lit up with brightness hearing the ring and looked at buaji pleadingly to attend the call. Buaji blushed and passed a smile as if permitting her to attend the call and come down for dinner as she knew Khushi wont be able to swallow the food without talking a word to her Arnavji. After buaji went down Khushi ran to pick up the call fearing that it might get cut.

Arnav was in his washroom getting freshed up while he couldn't wait to call his Khushi as it felt like he hadn't talked her for ages. He didn't wait to come out of the washroom to call her. He had instructed Abhay to pick up his mobile from the office the other day before he arrives. The delay in picking up increased the pace of his heartbeats making him walk inside the bathroom with curiosity.

Arnav : Pick up Khushi' Where are u ???

Khushi clicked the green button and was waiting to hear his voice. She couldn't utter a word out of anxiety and joy. Arnav knew she had attended the call and it felt like their heartbeats were conversing without letting their vocal chords to start their job. After a minute of silence Arnav couldn't resist himself anymore..

Arnav : Missed you so much..

Khushi was silent for a while again..

Arnav: Khushi can you hear me ? Hello..

Khushi was feeling as if her heart has come back to its position when she heard his voice after a gap.. She started crying badly thats when Arnav felt sad hearing it.

Arnav: Khushi, Are you crying ? Hey..

Khushi : I love you Arnavji..

Arnav smiled at her innocence : Love you too baby' Sorry I made you cry..

Khushi : No.. You never did.. Infact you are the reason why I smile..

Arnav : Then stop this tears now..

Khushi : Let it pour out Arnavji. I was controlling myself for two long days and I deserve this to mistake you unnecessarily.

Arnav: Mistake me? How ?

Khushi : Yea.. Papa forgot to tell me that u had called and informed him about ur trip. I got to know from Madhu that you were not in ur place. Since I was not getting any calls or messages I thought you are still angry on me and had stopped talking to me. I really got worried that you started hating me..

Arnav laughed his heart out : hahah. Khushi.. are you serious ? Is this the same Khushi who used to talk like a daadi and was so clear in all the thoughts. Is this the same Khushi who challenged me to understand me better then me understanding u? OMG I cant believe this.

Khushi's mouth went to an O shape and got back to her normal self to defend herself from his mocking..

Khushi : Arnavji.. are you teasing me now ? How rude? Do you know how I was struggling within myself to suppress the worry and fear that you were angry with me.

Arnav : You are still a kid sometimes. A grown up & a matured Kid.

Khushi blushed : Yea Im but only to you.

Arnav : I know that and I know how to look after my cute kid too.

Khushi : Arnavji.. are you sure you are not angry with me ?

Arnav : hm.. who told you Im not?

Khushi : I thought so.. Sorry Arnavji.. Im terribly sorry. I wont do anything henceforth without informing you.

Arnav : Hey.. Khushi.. Its ok. I don't mean to thrust any restrictions on your decisions but this was a bit risky on your part. I agree you did if for Lavanya and for me but I cant bear if you had got hurt in the process. If u had just informed me I could have sought help from my friends who are in Lucknow to handle the situation more cautiously and it would have been a risk free situation. There would have been no stress for you and ur friends. I myself could have come down to handle it as well. Just think of the situation if anything had happened to any of you. I just wanted you to be cautious and trust me I would never impose any limitations in your life. You are free to do whatever you want.

Khushi felt so elated hearing such a pure confession from her fianc. Who can be so understanding and grateful enough to explain what she had to do in life. She felt like a father teaching a kid on what to do and what not to do.. She smiled at his sweet gesture and tried to deviate the topic as it would move to an emotional area.

Khushi : Arnavji I promise you I wont repeat such things again. I believe you are right. I feel like I am a kid listening to a doting father.

Arnav : ah.. now Im sure you wont doubt my skills and responsibilities as a father.

Khushi's cheeks went deep red thinking of what he had uttered now. She felt shy to take the matter again as she knew he was naughty enough.

Khushi : hmm.. how was your trip Arnavji ?

Arnav : How clever ? Changing the topic soon? Well' My trip was hectic had to finish loads of work within a short span of time. Actually I had to take Akshay and Tanish along with me but there was a last minute change that I had to take up all the job alone. That's ok. I m used to it now I have been doing this before also. On the top of it I was missing you as well. I hardly could give time for myself.

Khushi : aww. So you must have dared to skip your meals also ? Haina Arnavji?

Arnav ( mentally hitting himself for getting caught redhanded) :errm' can we talk something else Khushi?

Khushi : No.. I need an answer NOW!

Her tone was much demanding now and the tables turned. A mother taunting her kid for not eating. He felt like why he uttered about his hectic schedule to her.

Arnav : Sorry baby' I promise you henceforth I wont skip the meals. It's a promise

Khushi : Arnavji. Do you remember how many promises have you made on this ?

Arnav : uh.. Khushi.. Please is this the time to fight ?

Khushi : Fight ? Who is fighting ? Im not Arnavji..

Arnav : accha.. I surrender mama' So how was the function ? You must have enjoyed fully na..

Khushi : No. I couldn't I was just faking happiness.

Arnav :hmm. Don't do that anymore.. Just blurt out on me if you have any worries or anger and be happy. You should not fake happiness in your life.

Khushi : Ok sir as you say..

Arnav : What happened at the function? I have to call Akash and wish him. I have to talk to Payal too.

Khushi : Do you want to talk to her ? Shall I call her now ?

Arnav : Khushi its late night how can you call her..

Khushi : Arnavji Do you think she would be sleeping peacefully now ? She would be talking all lovey dovey with your brother just like we do..

Arnav : How do you know that?

Khushi: I sneaked into her room yesterday night and she was chatting with Akashji through phone. I caught her and she had to tell me the truth that they don't miss talking to each other every minute.

Arnav : Really ? Shameless Aki.. I will call him now. Its my chance to tease him.

Khushi ( laughing) : Don't tease him too much ok.. He is my devar..

Arnav : So what will u do if anyone tease me your husband ?

Khushi couldn't stop blushing hearing the word husband.

Arnav : Oh God.. I can smell some strawberries in your cheeks.

Khushi's blush deepened.

Abhay who was waiting outside the washroom shouted.

Abhay : Arnie. Are you sure.. You smell Strawberries inside the bathroom.. Chi'

Arnav got shocked hearing Abhay's voice and he was sure Abhay had heard his romantic talks.

Khushi : What happened Arnavji?

Arnav : Wait Khushi.. One sec..

Arnav :Shut up Abhi. Get lost from here Dammit.

Abhay : No.. you come out first. Its been years you got inside this washroom. I have to use it too dammit.

Arnav chuckled at the response of the desperate Abhay waiting for him to come out of the washroom.

Arnav :hmm.. Sorry buddy Im not in a mood to come out . You better wait.

Abhay : What the ?

Khushi laughed at the verbal fight of the best friends.

Arnav couldn't resist his laughter anymore and came out that's when Abhay saw his friend and realized something. His jaw dropped seeing Arnav.

Arnav : What do you want Abhi.. Cant you let me talk peacefully inside.

Abhay : Were you in towel all this while talking to bhabhi? And don't you have any other place to have your international romantic conference?

Arnav : So what Its my house and Its my towel. What the hell of the problem you have?

Abhay : I cant believe that love can make a decent man so shameless ?

Arnav closed his speaker makind sure Khushi wont hear their conversation.

Arnav : Wait buddy wait. I will be soon catching you talking to Swetha inside this bathroom and Im sure you wont be even wearing this towel that time because you don't even know the spelling of "Shame"'

Abhay : ah.. lets see that time.. Now move.. Its Urgent!!!!!

Arnav chuckled at the crazy Abhay who ran inside banging the bathroom door to make sure Arnav wont get inside any time soon.

Khushi : Arnavji.. You were inside the bathroom that too in a towel..

Arnav : Oh.. Khushi.. Now you don't start that topic again.

Khushi giggled at the thought of it.

Khushi : I can feel someone shy now.. giggles***

Arnav : Excuse me.. Shy ? No way..

Khushi : Sachi.. Didn't you feel shy?

Arnav : I bet Khushi I wont even mind standing like that infront of you..

Khushi could sense something naughty and felt so shy..

Arnav : Now tell me who is more shy ?

Khsuhi : You easily win Arnavji..

Arnav : I love to win and I wont give up so fast.

Khushi : Lets see that too.

Arnav : Hey.. I forgot to tell you. You have a surprise waiting for you.

Khushi : Really ? I need to know that please Arnavji..

Arnav : I told you it's a surprise.

Khushi : But please just give me a hint na..

Arnav : No way..

Khushi (pouting) : Don't you love me Arnavji?

Arnav : No more buttering.. I told you surprise Khushi.. Just have patience. It will surely make you happy.

Khushi : Anything regarding you always brings happiness to me..

Arnav : hmm that's too early to judge baby..

Khushi : I believe so.. I don't care if it happens or not.

Arnav : Fine.. Now tell me how are your studies progressing?

Khushi : Yea.. its going fine. I have an exam tomorrow.

Arnav : WHAT ? And you are telling me now ?

Khushi : That's ok Arnavji. I have already done my revisions.

Arnav : No way.. Go and sleep now.. Its too late and you will get tired during the exams tomorrow.

Khushi : Arnavji Please.. Just 5 minutes.

Buaji ( from behind) : Titaliya.. its late. Come for dinner.

Arnav could hear the voice of Buaji.. and he got furious.

Arnav : How could u Khushi ? Why didn't you have ur dinner still dammit? You are advicing me not to skip meals but you urself forget to take care of your health.. This is not done Khushi.. Now GO and have your food . Then go to sleep. You have to wake up early na?

Khushi : Ok.. ok' calm down.. I will go now..

Arnav : I don't have to hear anymore reasons. Got it?

Khushi : Hmm. Arnavji..

Arnav: Fine.. don't sit late now.. Its ok whatever you have studied is enough. You go and write peacefully tomorrow. Don't get scared. Just pray and I m sure you will do the exams excellent.

Khushi :yea.. since you are with me now I have the confidence to give the exams well.

Arnav : Im with you For you Forever.

Khushi : Me too.. Thanks Arnavji. That was really a boost for me.

Arnav : take care.. and take this boost as well.

Arnav gave a big kiss on his mobile which could echo her ears and she felt like she got in her ears with so much intensity. They stood there for seconds just to absorb that moment which made them feel that it was real.

Arnav : Ok Khushi.. bye' Love you.. All the best. Do well. Don't get tensed.

Khushi : thanks Arnavji. Love you too.. Bye..

Though their words parted, their hearts refused to part and controlled the eardrums to anticipate for the sound of the heartbeats.

Arnav kept the call as he knew they wont be able to hang up so fast. He let out a sigh as if he had let out his feelings after a long time. KHushi closed her eyes and looked up the sky letting out the same sigh. She felt she got the energy booster to face the exam next day.

Akash : Abhi, how come you are devar? You are same age as of bhai.

Abhay winked at Swetha which made her blush the most making her hide behind giggling Khushi.
