I admit since the past one week Madhu's behavior was something that has not gone down well with me...Not because she is doing something uncharacteristic to her basic nature, but because it's not I wished for or rather not upto my expectations...
----- After ruminating over, I realized that this is so like Madhu, who listens to her heart more than her mind...who gets swayed by her emotions with no forethought of the consequences...Somehow Pascal's words seem perfect for her : "The heart has reasons which the reason cannot understand." Eventually when she took Aryan on the sets I was extremely upset...But we forget that this emotional girl can make mistakes and which she does admit later on when she apologizes to Sultan...Come to think of it I am upset because I can't see her making mistakes...At times we do get swayed by our expectations and feel cheated when that does not happen...
Now this doesn't imply that the way the CVs have built up this track has been totally feasible, there have been some shortcomings in it too...this entire fiasco of Sultan getting injured and ending up under Madhu's shelter is not credible to me at least...a famous don like going all bereft with not a single trusted henchman besides the aged Kaka, having no means to make an escape, taking on Bhujang and his men single handedly, so on and so forth...
One quality that I find endearing about Madhu is that despite all the betrayal and heart break she has suffered, she has not let herself turned into a cynic like RK or affectless like Sultan...It is better to trust and be disappointed once in a while than it is to distrust and be miserable all the time. - (Abraham Lincoln)
Before moving on, would like to bring out Madhu's conflict : she is torn between her self-respect and love...
----- Sultan's arrival on the set was because of Aryan, his son, perhaps for the first time disobeying him...His reaction of threatening the person who dares to rebuke his son and causing destruction to the equipment on the set was one of anger...though his reaction was justified, same can't be said about his action...then again his action was totally in sync with the character he is portraying...
Now what could be his conflict : to him giving in to emotions is a thing of weakness but at times he does succumb to it, even if it's of anger...
----- The former part with Madhu, Aryan and Sultan, both on the set and then back at the chawl was watchable...the boy playing Aryan is cute, no wonder Madhu couldn't deny his request to accompany her on the set...AR is doing a convincing job and has very well adapted to his character of Sultan...DD, all I will say is that to me she has become synonymous with Madhu...
----- Coming to the latter part, it was all about Madhu having got under RK's skin...the result of which is that he is hallucinating her everywhere around him...not just hallucinating her, but sensing her presence, conversing with her and going all restless...
His conflict, oh dear, this is of his own making : conflict between his ego and his latent feelings for Madhu...
I found this particular sequence of a very disturbed RK who desperately wants erase all thoughts and feelings of Madhu from his mind and heart enthralling... but is so helpless in doing so that he has lost sense of reality...Yes, he can run, he can hide but he can't escape the feelings that nurture in his heart for Madhu...Vivian did play his part with conviction...and Drashti, once again a perfect foil to him with just her eyes mocking at him...
Here's a perfect retro that very well conveys RK's condition :
