Hello all. No blabbering this time. A bit short chapter. The story is on the way to it's end.

Here's the update.

Chapter 48

Arjun's Room

Arjun was still lost in the beautiful memories of the past. He wanted to read further but gathering courage to turn the page to read next was difficult. He was never so close to knowing what was going on in Diya's mind. She was very much vocal and there was never a need to read her diary or go through any of her personal stuff to know what was going on in her mind. She would always come to him n share all that was in her heart on her own. But when he saw the last post was dated the day she attempted suicide, he wondered if it would have made a difference had he come across this diary at that time. Finally he gathered enough courage to read further. Some of the next entries were about some more beautiful moments they had spent together. Their holiday at Lonavala on Diya's birthday & the day when he proposed her were the ones that made Arjun remember those times very fondly. Life had never been better. But these feelings changed when he came across the one which had changed the whole equation.

Dear Diary,

M very happy today. We have decided to get married. I'll b going to my place this weekend to talk to my family. I know they will give their consent happily. M very excited about this new development. I can't wait to officially become Mrs. Diya Arjun Malhotra finally.

More later. I need to sleep now. There r so many things to do before I leave.

This was the last post before she had left for her home. She was very excited about the wedding and wanted it to b a grand affair. Arjun was more than happy to give her that. They had so many plans, so many dreams about their D-Day and all those had crashed within days.

Dear Diary,

I made the biggest mistake when I let myself dream so grand. Everything is over. When I had closed my eyes, I had dreams of my impending wedding. But it can never happen now.

'Hum jis cheez ki sbse zyada khwahish krte hain wo kbi poori kyu nai hoti??"

When I came here, I had planned to talk to my family about my relationship with Arjun n seek their consent for taking our relationship to the next level. M glad that I had not talked to them till now. I would have made it even more difficult for them to bear. I need to come to terms with the reality myself first. I have no idea how m going to tell Arjun. May b he doesn't even know till now. I know I have to talk to him. He deserves to know but m not sure how he'll react. Bhai wants to take me to U.S. he still thinks that I'll b fine but I know better. I might refuse to believe this but I know in my heart that I'll never b the same. I lost the dream of a happy family.

God!! Please give me strength to deal with this n to face Arjun. Give me courage to talk to him about it.

He could still remember the call conversation. She had called him the next day to tell him about the accident and her plan to go U.S. The ink was smudged at various places indicating that she had been crying while writing it.

There were other entries in which Diya had mentioned about the loneliness n feeling of heartbreak she had felt when she came to know that there was no cure. She had poured her pain in words.

July 9, 2009

Dear Diary,

This is the last time m writing. I have taken my decision. I thought a lot about it and may b this is not what is expected of me, but this time I have to b selfish. I can't see the pain in the eyes of the people I love the most. It's not just about my family any more. It's about the person who will readily stop living his life if it means that he can keep me with him. My life will hurt me more when I'll see the hope of a better future fading away in his eyes with each passing day. I know m being selfish but this time I have to b this way.

Mumma, Papa - I love u. ur daughter was not strong enough to face the pain n torment in ur eyes throughout ur life. So she has decided to free u from this pain. I know u want me to face it all n live but it's easy said than done. I hope u will understand my reasons.

Bhai - M sorry. May b this is not the best decision but I can't back out. I know u love me a lot and I love u too. Please forgive me if u can.

Arjun - I had never thought that I would b doing something like this. May b this is the best for u. I can't spoil ur life. I'll always cherish the moments I spent with u. please don't blame urself for anything. It's not ur fault.

Please fulfill my last wish Arjun. Give life another chance. Give love another chance. I want to b the most loved person in ur life after Princess. I'll b back with u as a little angel in my next life. Till then, take care love. I love u.

Princess - U have been the one who has become a very important part of my life in these years. Please do me a favor. Take care of ur Bhai n find love for him again. Don't let him lose his faith in this feeling. Take care bachha. Don't let the past or any incident rule ur life in a negative sense. May b not today, but I know u will understand my actions some day.

Goodbye. Thanks for being there throughout the journey of my life. M happy n content. Bas ek sindoor ki khwahish adhoori reh gai. May b in next life...

Arjun had not realized that he had been crying while reading the diary. He had lost his Diya that very day. He could still clearly remember that he found her unconscious in the pool of her own blood. How can he move on?? What if his life is jinxed?? He had lost his parents at a very young age. He had lost the woman he had loved. He had been very close to losing Princess too. Can he afford to give a chance to love again?? To Anjali??

Next Day (Concert Day)

It was the day of the concert. Everybody was getting ready. Sonam had already left along with Harshad n Sriti for the final rehearsals and arrangements. There was so much to do. They all left for the venue. They had been assigned rooms there so that they could get ready in the evening. They all had to help out with the preparations now. Sonam was restless. She was anticipating that something huge is going to happen soon.

arnav and khushi fighting is so funny they work well together and i would have loved to hear what NK had to say for his dare..must have been really funny and arnav struggling on the phone talking for 10 min with any business interruptions LOLL
