After months of dating, Eijaz Khan and Anita exchanged rings at a friend's home last Thursday

Will they, won't they? That was the question playing on everyone's mind. For months, there was speculation over the relation between Balaji actors Eijaz Khan and Anita Hassanandani aka Natassha. Some said they were just good friends, others swore they were madly in love. But the latest buzz doing the rounds is that the two have gotten engaged in a very private ceremony last week.
A source spilled the beans to HiTLIST. "They have been dating each other for quite some time. Their romance started on the sets of Kavyanjali and blossomed after it went off air. They finally decided that it's time to take their friendship to another level and got engaged at a friend's place last Thursday."
Hush-hush
Very few people, including family and friends, know about this development. Says the source, "Eijaz is very protective about Anita. He will go to any extent to see that she doesn't feel uncomfortable about this relationship. She's the biggest strength in his life."
Says a friend of Anita's, "This relationship is very important to her. They are very happy with each other but don't want their romance to be open for public discussion."
After going through a tumultuous relationship in the past, Eijaz has decided that it's better to keep this one under wraps. "He has learnt the hard way. That's the reason why he doesn't like to discuss Anita or talk about this relationship. At the moment he's treading a very careful line of not hiding his love and at the same time not making it a public spectacle."
When asked if they will acknowledge this commitment to others, the friend says, "Not right away. They want to stay away from the public glare. They both love their families and want their blessings and approval for the relationship. " Both Eijaz and Anita were unavailable for comment.
