Part VII: with you I'm safe

It was nearly 10pm when Amar came in to check on Arnav… he was asleep… he still dint know why Arnav preferred to sleep alone…. Amar kissed his forehead and retired into his room to get some sleep….. Arnav knew his father would come in. it was his father's daily ritual to kiss him at night…his father did this for him as far as he remembered…..he waited a little time for his father to fall asleep… he knew Amar slept quickly as he worked really hard for the Guptas…. It was around 11 when Arnav got up and locked the door… he then removed his clothes and stood nude in front of the mirror… the memories that haunted him came back. he could feel Suresh's touches, all over his body… he took out the wooden comb that he had kept under his bed and started scratching his body fully…. Every place he felt the touch he scratched it., unmindful abt the pain it caused unmindful abt the marks... He just went on moving the comb, pressing it on his delicate skin... he at the moment didn't feel pain all he could feel was the touch of that veil man and hear his laughter… after he was done he threw the comb and shut his ears… he threw himself on the bed and pressed his face on the pillow making him gasp for breath… he tried to suffocate himself… but his reflex dint allow him too…. he rolled over and fell down on the floor hurting his head… but that dint pain him more than his thoughts…. He scratched his neck and hands with his nails trying to remove the feeling... tired of doing so... he went to the bathroom and sat down on the stool… he softly took mugs of water and washed his body which was now filled with scratch marks and blood… but even the cool water couldn't heal the wound of his heart… he crawled out of the bathroom, got changed and tried sleeping… knowing too well that today also his dreams will be filled with Suresh abusing him all over again……

It was morning and Kushi was really irritated… Arnav was late again… it was the third day in a row… she dint understand why Arnav always wanted to go to school exactly when the bell rang… she pouted and sat in the car waiting for her Guddu to arrive… Arnav came in and sat beside her… Kushi was not talking to him cos she was angry on him for being late again… and Arnav couldn't be happier….. After reaching school Kushi left without even sparing a glance at Arnav… this somewhere tug a string in his heart but Arnav ignored it as he had much bigger things to handle… starting with searching for a place to hid in lunch.

It was lunch and Arnav took his lunch and ran before anyone to stop him… he hid in the old toilet behind the recreation room which was kept for the worker… luckily no one used it but no one cleaned it too… the smell was horrible but Arnav dint mind it… he finished the lunch and sat down there waiting for the bell to ring…. This was the new place he had found out to safe guard himself from the bullies who have learnt of him being abused by Suresh and had been targeting Arnav for this and teasing him endlessly…. The bell rang and Arnav ran towards his class… one of the boys who bully him saw him run from there and mentally thought of a plan to get him tomorrow….. After school Arnav quickly came and sat inside the car and waited for Kushi to come… she came and both left home…..

Amar bhaiyya….. aap kya teek kar rahe ho? Asked vimla bhabhi…. She was Amar's neighbor and the gossip queen of the servants quarters…. Her husband was the supervisor of Gupta mills….(Amar brother do you think what you are doing is correct?)

Kis bath me bhabhi ji? Amar asked not knowing where this conversation was heading…(in what matter bhabhi ji?)

Arrey hum Guddu ke bare me bath kar rahe hai…. Pehle hi wo bina ma ka hai... aur yeh sab…. Aapko nahi lagta use is court katcheri me padna teek nahi hoga??? (oho I'm talking abt Guddu… first of all he is motherless, then all this.. don't you think getting him into all this court cases is not good)

Par bhabhi insaf tho chahiye na…..(but bhabhi we need justice no)

Aarre bhiyya ji, insaf sirf amiro keliye hai….hum tehre garib… do waqt ki roti keliye tarasne wale… kaha court kacheri me goomte rahenge…… (oh bhiyya ji.. justice is for the rich.. we are all poor people.. those who struggle to get 2 times meal for a day where will we roam around in the matters of court cases?)

Nahi bhabi suresh jaise logo ko to dhand milna chahiye…. Nahi tho pata nahi kitne baccho ke sath yeh sab karegi….. (no bhabhi.. people like Suresh shd be punished… otherwise he will hurt so many similar kids)

Uskeliye koyi aur sochega na… aap kyu? Aapke tho ladki hai… bala kya zyada ho sakta hai….. ladki hoti tho aur bath hoti…. (for that let someone else think.. why shd you.. you have a boy no… if it was a girl then things would be different..)

Ladki ya ladki… dono me pharak nahi hai bhabi…. Bacche hai… kya horahi hai janthey bhi nahi…. Aur wo admi inke massumiyath ka faida utaraha hai…. Aap chahte hai ki ese logo ko khula chod den? Pata nahi Guddu jaisa kithne baccho ka zindagi tabha karegi…. me nahi chahta Guddu ki thara kissi aur ke sath esa ho…. (boy or girl there is no difference.. these are kids and they don't even know what is happening to them and this man is using their innocence to his advantage… you want such people to be left free? We don't know like Guddu, how many children's life he has destroyed….. I don't want another child to suffer like Guddu)

Yeh tho teek hai Bhaiyya… tho Guddu ko doctor ke pas le jayenge kya?? (this is correct… so are you taking Guddu to any doctor?)

Ji… kal ka appointment hai… dimag ke doctor ke pas…. (yes there is an appointment.. its for a mind doctor)

Hmm uske dimag me kuch hua hai kya??? She asked innocently (has something happened to his mind?)

Pata nahi…. Ek dum chup chap rahta hai… zada bath nahi karthe… (don't know.. he is very quiet now a days)

Han…yeh sab hua hai na…. bacche par asar padega….. (yes.. all this has happened it will affect the kid)

Accha Bhabi ab mujhe jana hai... (ok bhabhi.. I have to leave)

Teek hai Bhayya... she said as Amar made his way inside the Mahal…(ok)

Me na khati thi Beena….. Guddu ko na dimag me kuch pramlams hai…. Said Vimla as she went inside another woman's house…. (dint I tell you beena Guddu has some mental problem)

Kya bhat kar rahi ho Vimla didi? Came another woman….(What are you talking abt Vimila didi?) So on another 3 more came into Beena's house and Vimla gossiped abt Guddu going to the dimag doctor… by the end of the day the whole servants quarter came to know abt this and declared that Arnav had some mental problem…..

It was the next day and as usual Arnav was late and Kushi was angry…. But still she waited for him… never ever even for a moment did she think of leaving him and going… how much ever she was angry she would wait for him…. And so she did wait for him today also… Arnav came in and they left for the school... Arnav was lost in his thoughts… he was worried and prayed that no one comes to know abt his hiding place…..the school came and both the kids left to their classes… Arnav dint know why his partner who sat next to him changed his place today…. Arnav sat all alone lost in his thoughts… the teachers punished him the whole day… at lunch he again took his lunch and ran towards his hide out… when he was abt to eat… the four boys entered the bathroom and snatched his box…

Aree Arnav… you are eating here???? They asked and laughed…

Your food and you stink of shit…. One said and again they started laughing…

Pls Bhaiyya give me my food pleaded Arnav… as he knew his father had made it with great effort…..

Oh so you need it... ok take it saying they dropped his lunch on the floor… now take it from there and eat... they said making him cry… Arnav knew he couldn't do anything... these boys were from class 8 and he was just 5…

Kushi was asked to get a CD from the entertainment room for a small play for the KG convocation day…. That day the students from UKG will be handed over certificates and be promoted to I STD… tat day students of class I had to perform some small things to congratulate and welcome these kids… it was also like farewell as few kids would move on to different schools…. Kushi was to get that CD from the room when she heard laughing… she got curious and moved towards the direction of the sound… on reaching there she got furious… there she saw one boy holding Guddu's hands behind and another boy pressing him towards the floor making him eat the puris from the dirty ground….

What the hell do you think you are doing… she yelled…. The boys saw her and stopped doing what they were….

Get out yelled one boy… who seemed to be the head of the gang…

What will you do if I say no… she yelled back… one thing what Kushi hated was to be yelled at that to by unknown boys… it hurt her ego…

I'll pull your pony and make you eat from the floor like this boy…. Another boy said and started laughing….

I'll hit you on your brainless head you jerk she yelled… wait till I tell the teachers she said turning to leave…

Go and get her... if she tells the teachers we will be punished…. One boy said and the others ran and caught her….

Leave me you pig heads... she screamed…. And kicked one boy on his leg making him yelp in pain…. She then pushed another and made him fall down… the other boy slapped her and pulled her pony's making her cry…

Leave her alone you want me to eat this no… I'll do it… pleaded Arnav... he dint want Kushi to get hurt cos of hims

Ho so the tweep can speak… laughed the head boy…

Ok we wont do anything… start eating… but not with you hands but directly with your mouth…

No…Guddu won't do this… saying Kushi pushed the boy holding her and went near Arnav and took the puris from the floor and pushed it inside her pocket… as daima had said never to waste food….

What the hell do you think girl?? Yelled the boy…

Actually I shd ask you this question… who the hell do you think to say such things to my Guddu huh???

Guddu??? Laughed another boy who gulped unknowing seeing Kushi glare at him…

Listen to me once and good… ok... she said wiping away the tears that she split unknowingly as the boy hit her…

I'll get you dismissed from this school and make sure you will be put in jail for being so bad she threatened…as she had heard that Suresh would be put in jail… so she thought if you are bad you'll be put in jail…..Arnav felt someone hit him in his stomach… he felt like shaking this girl and shouting at her to shut up…

Ho really? And how will you do that??? And why would they believe you? We are bigger and stronger that you

Ha big… she mimicked and smirked… you might be bigger but my dad is the biggest… she said proudly….if I tell him you all will be kichdi… and yuck I hate kichdi… she said putting her tongue out….

So what our dad's are also big… they'll get to your dad….

But my dad owns this school and the offices here… he is Shashi Gupta… do you know..? she said still smirking…

My dad will throw your dad from his office and will make sure you eat your food daily from places like this she said pointing at the toilets….the boys gulped down understanding what she was saying….

Now help Guddu stand and start with you sorrys... may be I'll be gentle on you guys…she said folding her hands on her chest….she knew that she had the boys… she would make them feel sorry for what they did with her Guddu..one way or the other…the boys immediately helped Arnav on his legs…

Where are your lunches??? She asked glaring at them….

Outside in the lunch room….

Ok go and open it and keep it like that… don't you dare eat it… it is for my Guddu…. She ordered and those so called big boys ran with their tails between their legs…. Kushi turned around and looked at Arnav… she scanned him to see if he was hurt and Arnav unconsciously lifted his hands and touched her cheek which was red cos of them slapping her….

Dard ho raha hai… he asked softly...(is it paining?)

Kushi was shocked… he never talked with her like this…

Nahi... hume dard nahi hota…I'm a big girl now... she said proudly... but actually she wanted to cry as it did pain her…. (No... It doesn't pain me..)

Arnav slowly caressed her cheek… and then suddenly hugged her… and started crying… Kushi hugged him too and both the kids pacified themselves……

Don't cry Guddu… me hu na...I'll always be there for you…. She said

Arnav came back from the hug… he tucked in his shirt and straightened his clothes and then helped Kushi in neatly tying her pony too… smiled at each other and nodded their heads telling each other that they looked ok and moved out of the place…. They reached the lunch room to find the boys waiting for Arnav….

Guddu come start having your lunch now... and don't say no...If you like you can have theirs daily too…. Kushi said as she led Arnav towards those boys and made him sit down…..

OMG… I forgot… she said standing up in a hurry…. I had to get the CDs from the recreation room… saying she dashed out…

Arreeyy… have you eaten your lunch??? Yelled Arnav…

I have finished she said smiling…. His asking itself had filled her stomach… she happily skipped towards the room leaving a smiling Arnav seeing his new found friend go… somehow he felt safe…. Very safe……

Precap: the visit to the psychiatrist and the court

I know lot of people might think Kushi is a bit abv her age… but she is like that cos of staying alone with her nani… its just that she has to act big cos bigger kids use to pic on her.. so she acts like this….. she will shed this soon… but still she is strong…

Vimla is a gossip queen... you might be thinking why I have included this unnecessarily... but let us think how many people have actually listen to such gossips and have branded people without knowing them in person.. we find such people every where… how many times have people like this made us think back on a decision and felt unsure of it and thus changed it??? So you need to wait and see why I bought this certain character here and what is her true purpose……

My stories as most might have noted will not be lovely dovely types... I might not bend down the rod and make things works... So here in this story too pls dont expect mushy stuff between arshi... and also this is not the end of Suresh... He will be gone tempo only... He'll be back worst than before...
arnav and kuShi will split and will move far away and change a lot...
my question is... Is it ok for me to continue with my story as it is gonna get darker... The next half will be slightly based on a true story of a 16 yr old girl... So pls guys do tell me... If u are ok with this...
After, say 3 or 4 updates the next half will start so u have to tell me this now... If u guys feel tat this ff is touching too much sensitive areas pls do tell me and I'll complete this in a nice way...
