I usually read posts but hardly post anything...but just this once I decided to write something...I am not from india but I have indian friends so I started watching indian television about 4 years ago...it is very unclear to me how indian women like heroes who torture and emotionally abuse women. RK has beaten up a father, he has emotionally abused and tortured Madhu (Everything he has done so far is not something done by men hardened by life...its done by men who enjoy seeing women inferior and hurt them...basically wife beaters)...those are not actions of an anti hero or any normal person...how is it that these actions have women drooling all over him?

Sultan on the other hand, plays the anti hero...because he shows a trace of humanity...plus their chemistry on screen is very good...

I also read a post earlier that anything said against RK becomes a closed topic..I am not sure if this would count as one...just trying to understand why women are attracted to men who literally break women to pieces...its honest curiosity...and I am assuming most people in this forum are women

get ready for what you know will happen to this post...

coming to your post...my POV...public humiliations...mental torture...pushing someone in a well planned manner to such an extent that he himself expects the later will commit suicide...I cant overlook these for someones looks...nothing happened in a moment...it was totally planning n all the time was taken to understand...Madhubala was just a toy or properly said a prey...like he himself said...whom he enjoyed like someone enjoys hunting...

Madhubalas closeness with him might have got some feeling for her in him...but they are still blinded my ego...n come out only as humiliation n insults...to an extent that he used her weakness to get truth from her...height

Sultan got a harsh background...he is clear of what he wants n does not trap people...he is straight forward...he does not insult people to put himself superior...

Madhubala has not shown any interest in Sultan but the lady is bashed left right center for her humanity..alas...

You have made a valid point. The only thing I do not agree with is that Indian women like heroes that abuse and torture them. R.K since he started the romancing of MB was so convincing that it has divided the audience into two distinct groups. You must have noticed that many still object to his behaviour and are waiting for his redemption and many think that since he is a good looking man it should be easy to forget what he did because he now feels the pain of losing her. R.K himself has not come to the realization that what he did was unforgivable. The writers have created R.K with a Chip on his shoulders and an ego big enough to fill the Grand Canyon ! This is after all a Melodrama and we just have to suspend our disbelief and wait and see how the writers are going to dot the "i's" and cross the "t's". MB has good chemistry with both of them and we have to wait and see what kind of life changing decision she will make.

It is clear that the hero of the show is RK and so she will most likely end up with him...but again...i agree with you guys...the fact that RK is shown having a dark background does not justify all the evil things he does...i have seen a lot of heroes who begin by being cynical and harsh...but RK is the only one who is downright cruel and from the very beginning everything he did completely offended me as a woman...writers pushed his character to a new extreme and the fact that people fell for the cruelty and evilness is sad...
